    That trick Chris uses of playing the harmonic and bending it above the nut isn't something I've seen before. It sounded super cool with distortion. I learned something today.

      Country guitar players do the bending behind the nut thing sometimes to replicate b-bender/pedal steel bends, it’s slightly harder on bass though, depends on the string length behind the nut and the break angle over the nut.

    The only *possible* way for this to be better is for an fx loop for each channel, so I have more control over the EQ by putting a GEB-7 or something in the loop. I'm already considering it tho.

    Says in the manual that you can plug into the front of the amp.
    You CAN'T!!!

    • @dupgab
      @dupgab 2 года назад +1

      bass butler a better choice according to me. Alpha omega is a 9v pedal so you have less headroom than the 18v bass butler. For bass à lot of headroom will give you definition and fat powerful low end. I have both the a/o and the butler and I can say that the feeling of the butler is very close to a good quality bass amp. The a/o is more of a distortion box (something you put before an svt or a big tube amp) but the butler is literally your full rig in a box. The clean channel is the most powerful low end I found in a pedal on the market period. :)

    • @dupgab
      @dupgab 2 года назад +1

      I like all the new bass pedal preamp out there but the simple truth is for pro bass tone you need high headroom. If you have an active bass of 18v I highly recommend the bass butler. If you have a passive bass you can go with whatever preamp you want.

      Kev Mac my bass butler cost £199 on sale! Cheaper than the dark glass.
      I like the harmonic booster but it’s not got a fraction of the functionality the bass butler has.
      Nothing else I’ve ever tried comes close to it, it’s wonderful.

      @@phatbass9548 Congrats,you scored a deal. My heavy gigging days are mostly behind me at 65 so the full price doesn't make sense at this point.Looks like a great Actually I was responding to a person that asked for a clean preamp at half the price hence the H.B. but it has been a pleasure talking to you.

    Oh wow another drive pedal....

    • @phatbass9548
      @phatbass9548 4 года назад

      GrimJaw333 not a drive pedal at all.
      Its a bi amp preamp. By splitting the signal it keeps the low end clear and the high end clear.
      Keep the gain low and it sounds better than any other bass rig.
      The gain is there if you need it but it’s not a drive pedal.

      Idk man. I’ve seen a lot of drives with B/M/T controls. Plus you just said yourself bi-amping let’s you choose with part is clear which implies I can choose which part is driven.

    I'm really not trying to be a dick here but Nicks playing really hurts the example. Just a little too ahead of the beat that it made the example feel odd. Good player but just a little more practise!

      I agree... Nick's timing is awful. Not just here either. He seems slightly off the beat always.
