Hi there! Curious for your take on the GE silicone, 1 vs 2. Naturally I thought I picked up 1 and didn’t realize it was in fact 2 until after my build 🙃 it says 100% silicone and no additives are mentioned. I plan on just letting plants settle for a month or so before adding a Pac-Man. Thanks for your time!
Hey! So unfortunately, GE 2 Silicone is an advanced silicone with additives to fight mold, which are not good chemicals for fish and other aquarium animals. Has to be GE 1 Silicone. Maybe you'll find another use for the GE2, in a bathroom repair or something!
I really love your channel, what do you think about making Paludariums and Vivariums bioactive, is it necessary or would you recommend it highly, also was yours bioactive
Thank you! It's not necessary to make them bioactive but it really helps as far as maintenance and making the system stable. And once you make one bioactive, it allows you to easily make future setups bioactive as well
That's a pretty sharp setup! I'm glad you added the fact that it's smart to let new setups sit for a few days. I'm always dumbfounded when people get everything put together and immediately throw their frogs in. Are you thinking about branching off to other frogs or are you going to just stick with the mossys?
Thanks! And thank you for your input! Perhaps in the future I'll try some different frogs, but for now I am happy with what I have, and will continue to work on their enclosure. There's a quick update video I just posted on the channel, if you want to check it out!
www.harborfreight.com/158-gph-submersible-fountain-pump-63315.html This is the pump that I used and the tubing is just 5/8th tubing I got at home depot. The top part with the holes is a spray bar from a canister filter that I wasn't using.
Thinking of upgrading my mossy’s tank, I have an empty 18x18x24, I only have one in a 12x12x18 rn, still young. What plants would you recommend, I was thinking of a croton or pathos but afraid they may get crushed. Thanks :)
Thats the same size enclosure mine are in. As long as the plants are securely potted you should be ok. I have pothos and 2 types of bamboo and they haven't damaged them. I also have a bromeliad type plant secured onto the background that they hang out on
How often does the bottom evaporate for you? Last time I had a water bottom, I had to add in a least a half gallon a day. I’m curious to how much you add!!
As much water as the capacitance of your home. If your house house is below 30% humidity, that water will be evaporating very fast. You can always add plastic panel pieces to the top of your tank screen to keep in some of that humidity.
I have a mystery snail with mine. The pump im using is a sunsun. Cant remember the model but chewy carries a similar one. www.chewy.com/tom-pet-products-mini-internal/dp/132029
I just picked up 3 of these guys for my paludarium. Amazing frogs.
That's awesome!
Would love to see your mossy tree frogs more I’ve been planning on building a paludaruim and I’m looking for inhabitants
No problem! New tree frog video coming up!
Haha we actually were already planning a new tree frog video with some additional equipment!
Stay tuned!
Looks so nice
Thank you!
nice build.
Thank you very much!

How would you feed them? Im asking because i primarily use crickets and crickets arent the smartest and love drowning

gorgous tank these tree frogs are my fav type
Thank you very much! New frog video soon!
Since you don’t have a filter do you have to change water? If wanted a filter what kind?

Hey I’d like to replicate something like this but I was wondering, can you please link your pump and the thing that the tubing goes in? Thank you

Can you also use gorilla glue instead of silicone?
Worth a try! I stuck to what I have experience with.

Not to much but I do mist it down pretty heavily every other day or so.

Hi, what kinds of snails can go with the frogs? Also what was the name of that pump I can’t seam to find it.

Snails have a possibility of getting worms, and then to your frogs if they eat them. But most of the time you are fine.
How hownloud are theses guy and what time of day do they call like evening time or late after like 1 am ??? While we would be sleeping
They start croaking around 11 at night. Pretty much whenever lights are out. Its not an annoying or high pitch noise. My wife and I find it soothing 😌
I like your terrarium but was yours bioactive because
I have snails in the water column and the break down plant and frog waste
Whats the point in covering the background with silicone and coconut fibre.? Wont plants just grow over the backgprund anyways ?
The background is smooth so it doesn't hold moisture well. The coconut fiber helps retain moisture
Gorilla glue works way better than silicone
Thanks for the tip! As with many things, there are many ways to get things done.
