Ran these tires in 255/40R18 on my FL5 Type R... they really are sublime. The ride quality was brilliant, the lateral grip didn't make sense on the autocross course, and when warmed up, they were nearly impossible to spin. Though expensive to daily, I think I'll be replacing my summers with a set of RE-71RS
Surprised no one is talking about the boost that this thing is running. I have an 11th gen SI and on the factory tune I rarely see 16psi, let alone the 32 psi seen at around 7:01. I thought these engines were blowing up around that level of boost? (stock at least)
Pretty sure there's a Hondata FlashPro when the screen normally is, so I'd expect it has a custom tune on it. Although I agree those boost numbers are very high even for a aftermarket tune from what I have seen.
No downpipe or exhaust. You are hearing the motor completely raw in this car. The car is also completely stripped of any type of sound deadening/insulation.
@Soul_Flow_ how does putting a more open exhaust make it not a regular civic lol? You can't have a quite car on track also go remove all your interior your car will sound way different inside
"Enjoy the sounds of this civic....." I nearly fell asleep, haha, just not my cup of tea I guess, great video quality as always though topher thanks man! no doubt fun to drive but the sound is lackluster imo
@@K03sport Honda is pretty good about rattles. I have a 2005 Rsx type s that still doesn't rattle a bit after 170k miles. Something about hearing every single pebble hit the car like a hail storm says track machine though. 😆

We all know that those where baby laps but hey, the tires managed real well.
Thanks for the videos
This new generation SI gets a lot of hate and i’m not sure why. they are great cars, they look good and they handle like a dream!!
Bcoz the hyoonday elantra more valu for mone brooo 🤓🤓🤓
Mostly dealerships marking them up to the moon.
And apparently has less power compared to the previous generation.
Because a well known Honda RUclipsr blew up a motor and everyone thinks the motors are garbage now
@@faheemabbas3965 Yeah because the price dealers are charging should influence the fact whether it’s a good car or not.
Because honda thinks they should keep giving their civic Si customers the sh*tty l15 instead of the k20c
This is not the TCA car built by HPD. It’s built by Honda Research West and has a few differences from the TCA car
First civic SI i've seen without godawful rev-hang - nice!
エンジン音でシビックって分かるのっていいね笑
見てるだけで楽しそうな車なのが分かる!😂
That was some sick driving skills Topher!
glad they kept the stock shift knob...
Wow, that looked like tons of fun! Definitely jealous!
1th gen si gang!!!! 🎉🎉
There’s one thing that’s better than driving on the track and that’s driving someone else’s car on the track.
The perfect everday driver...
Best RUclipsr for ever

Agree there is no way that’s 32 pounds of boost it would sound way different and be way faster
This is sooo cool
Maybe if it came in the hatchback version
But why does it sound so different with regular Si?

@@kballs94 ,so it is NOT a regular Civic SI
No cats or big mufflers :)

@Soul_Flow No one said it was a regular Civic Si. He literally calls a “race Civic Si” and a “fully prepped track car.”
Its still the 1.5T right?

Funny but with it all gutted and rattly now I'm like, "Oh right, Civic race car." lol Something just wasn't quite right.
... well, "gutted" gives it an excuse to rattle. production cars shouldn't rattle (my wrx didn't get that memo)

@@K03sportbro said there was a screw on the floor at the start🤣 that's at least one thing we know was rattling💀
"g-s" -> "acceleration"
The first😅❤
That was boring. You barely did any actual pushing.
