You probably won't see this comment but I'm gonna leave it anyway.
I don't come to your channel for eyelook, I come here because you are the ONLY youtuber I know who doesn't use intense extreme crazy lighting/filter and over the top eyelashes. When you do a review, I get to see the true colour payoff. The way it looks on your eyes that's how it looks on me, then I know I'm not doing anything wrong and I am not disappointed in the product because it didn't "deliver". You have no idea how much money I spent on palettes, brushes, makeup etc... just because I thought the product didn't deliver or my technic was wrong or the brushes weren't good enough...and it was all down to lighting/filter. You are saving me money.

That coral shade would definitely be considered part of the red family, working with Copics and watercolours have helped me understand value better and I have quite a few red family Copics that are that exact coral/salmon/peach colour because it's just a very diluted red, where it has less pigment and more alcohol or water if you're working with watercolour. In this case, I assume, it has a higher white to red pigment ratio. BTW That yellow brown you loved so much is a true yellow ochre 💕

Viseart are a professional company. I had to enquire about their esum brushes - they were kind and very helpful - now that's what I like to experience. They certainly do their homework. So pleased you were one of the youtubers in the beauty community they chose - they knew that you would be fair, honest and understand their product to the best of your ability and they are not wrong 🎀

I'm SO EXCITED FOR YOU? Honestly, though. You and Mel were the first people I saw regularly creating multiple looks with a single palette. You dive deep into the stuff you're interested in, and you have such an appreciation for what a makeup creator was trying to put into their vision. What i like about watching you is that your perspective shows me something I didn't really see on my own in a palette or color story, and I love your looks! They really inspire me and I find myself more often now looking for unique combos and effects I can put together. You may not be a professional but you're really fun and creatively stimulating to watch, so there's that :) :) I'm glad you're being recognized for what you bring to the platform!

Gurl, I came looking for you this morning on this. I came back tonight and saw you uploaded, I am now getting to watch it. I got the 1 and 2 in MUSE last sale. So a sis jus need 3.
Mixing Pigments for cosmetics rely on the R-Y-B Colour System. Printing relies on the C-MY and Light relies on the R-G-B. Yes the primary colours of the R-Y-B System cannot be created. However in the C-M-Y System used in printing their primaries can be mixed to create red and blue. Subtractive color refers to mixing pigments and dyes, where the resultant colour of mixing their primaries is black meanwhile Additive color refers to the mixture of light. By combining their primaries the resultant colour is white.
As it relates to combinations I would say use analogous and monochromatic combinations for our skin but person with higher contrast in the skin (that is the existence of more than one colour appearing between theie hair, skin and eyes can use complementary colours.
I love, loved the green look!

I have been waiting for this!! I have volume 1 & 2, but this palette looked like it would be WAY over my head. I knew you would break down all the details, but girl you went there with the color theory 101😳and made it very understandable to boot!! I was looking forward to seeing how you would make the palette work, and not go over the top with editorial looks; and that you would really show how almost anyone could use it. My skill level however would have me looking like a straight up clown, so I'm leaving this one up to the pro's. LoL So thank you for putting those skills of yours to work and creating some beautiful looks! Great video❣️

You do an amazing job with these looks, and with color theory! I went to art school followed hair styling school, so I had to learn tons of color theory. The reason for all the different schools of color theory are the different mediums, but a basic RYB color wheel is incredibly useful to show which shades will blend, which you need to cut your crease to place next to each other, and color schemes that look interesting together. This palette is so tempting, but I'm still looking for the right eye primer for me since I feel like the current iteration of UD's really accentuates lid texture. I've heard the new Smashbox one that comes in white/light/deep/black is really nice. Also the Sigma primer stick in the matte shade has good reviews from the bright color lovers. I'd love to try P.Louise but not for $30 online. Recommendations very welcome!

  • @GretchenVaughn

I'll be dreaming of more edit palettes tonight! I have Warm and Rosé. I decided to skip Dark Edit and get Dark Mattes instead. If volume 3 had been released last year, I actually would have saved money. I've been collecting many of these shades as I go. BTW - My Sonia G Builder Pro, Worker 3 and Wayne Goss 16 arrived today. Wow. The difference between those and my favorite Sigma brushes is mind blowing. No more scratchy eyelids! I've been rewatching all your videos now to see how you use the brushes (and appreciating your humor and creativity). It took me three weeks to choose which brushes to buy. 😂

I've been waiting for your video on this palette 🌈❤
When I was taking color theory classes as part of my art/design major, we did the usual "color wheel" & tone/tint gradations plus a bunch of other things but we learned we had to *mix* our primary red & blue. I don't think the YRB is wrong per se, it's just over simplified. Same with dividing the color wheel into warm & cool colors when in reality, every color has a warm or cool version & it's relative to its surroundings(other colors) People confuse Hue for Color & they aren't the same thing.

I’m so happy you broke this down! Because as I was watching several videos, what I gathered is that it all comes down to the medium. And I also agree that the warm/cool component is definitely more comprehensive than how I presented it. I find it all very fascinating 🤓 I do find that I appreciate that these shadows are not super opaque, because they have a better chance at changing color and not appear muddy.

@@aliciaarcher Opaque dry pigments like eyeshadow or pastel are more difficult to "mix" & create a new color. All paints, regardless of medium(oil, watercolor, acrylic) will vary in opacity according to color. Earth colors are generally more opaque due to their chemical composition. Yellows & red-violets are usually less opaque. Each paint will have a different drying time too :) There's a lot of science in art

OK girlie. I was not sure about the blue green eye and had to look at it hard to get it...until you fixed it. Then POW! I am all in.
The yellow green in an obvious, lovely choice, but until you, as a brown girl I wouldn't a done it.
Great tutorial as always! This is bsbfankaren by the way. Changed my screen name in preparation for my own channel.

Wow! Nicely done! Really enjoyed your mini color theory lesson. If you want to blow your mind with color theory, check out the Munsell Color system for artists. It's 3 main components are hue (color), value (light/dark), and chroma (intensity/boldness level). You can really see this theory at play with this palette. It's awesome. Loved your green look and the last one with brown/coral/yellow. I appreciated your looks as you push the envelope but still are wearable and modifiable for everyday wearers. I'm thinking that the 12-pan editorial brights may be a good way to sample viseart's bright's before diving into the grande pro 3. As you mentioned at the end, adding just a touch or pop of a bright can really bring a freshness to your already existing colors. OHHHH and that lead look with Viseart Dark Edit was the bomb! Video Please:)))

Really really really beautifully presented information I just wanna add one thing: the printer CYMB adds black because black ink is cheaper on its own and it would be ridiculously expensive to need to combine all 3 ink colors when printing a written document (black words on white paper). So black ink is an additive for cost & product efficiency measures.
