I definitely have a feeling we will see modern versions of these toys soon. They have made such a huge resurgence in popularity it just seems inevitable. I love watching you repair them. I’ve always wanted to see how they worked but didn’t have the guts to take mine apart 😂
I really enjoy almost all of your content, even for some toys I have no personal connection to, but your M.A.S.K. repairs hit different. I believe mainly they remind me of how rough I used to play with mine as a kid back in the day and I remember how much of it got broken and what crazy good repairs my father was able to do to many of them. Definitely got my tinkering skills and nack for it from him. Keep rescuing old toys, they deserve it.
Loving these videos I have my child hood collection which need some attention new stickers etc and I have a thunderhawk which is in the same condition as the one you refurbished so I’ll be using your video as a step by step guide 👍🏻
The Manta is my all time most favorite M.A.S.K. I love the Nissan 300z as its one of the most iconic 80s vehicles, I love the Decepticon color scheme, and I love Vanessa Warfield. Mine was bought loose but is also almost in immaculately good condition sans stickers. I think being released late in the line helped a lot. I also have the same problem with the rear engine but I don't have the confidence in taking it apart to fix it.
Ok… you got me. I dig this ride. I am not a mask collector but if I see this in the wild, i will probably pick it up. It’s got that 80s vibe plus I love the transformation and color. And of course I love watching the photoshop work. It’s so satisfying.
I love the M.A.S.K toyline, but ended up selling my collection because I just didn't have the room, or the time / patience to track down all the little bits and pieces that were missing when I bought incomplete models ( which I tried not too ). I did pull 1 or 2 apart and fix mechanisms and make 1 good vehicle up out of 2, that was pretty fun but time consuming.
I love watching you work in photoshop. 20 years ago I was very proficient in the program while in Highschool and continued on into college. When I watch you work bits and pieces come back to me. You seem like you’ve been doing this for a very long time. Is graphic design your day job? Also my dad had this car back then too. I was a lucky 16 yr old driving one of these around on occasion
Impressive Photoshop work as usual. Not a vehicle I had but a very cool MASK toy, nonetheless. My dad was driving a 240Z right around the time this vehicle was released. I think headlights and the other stickers you mentioned would complete the look 👍🏼
I don't have this vehicle, so I LOVED seeing this one! It's really quite a clever design, and I really love the way the wings spring out! Your fixes seem to really do the trick. It's amazing how plastic imperfections can hurt the functions and fittings of toy parts. Luckily, flash and plastic glitches can often just be removed with the most minimal of efforts. Loved the sticker recreation too, Dave! I hope that you had a great Christmas, and a Happy New Year for you and Mrs Toy Polloi!
well done, Yes indeed some custom stickers are needed. The cover that reveals the missile launcher on the bonnet needs some grill work. The two raised bits behind and to the left and right of the missiles could use perhaps, some Amber or Orange stickers mimicking turn signals. I think that would dress the front up a bit. I really enjoy your restoration and repair videos. I, myself restore old cameras. Many times your work here gives me ideas for my camera restoring and sometimes customizing. HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Thank you for doing that video do you know how easy it is to replace the bonnet as my one is broken already got an replacement bonnet for it but not sure if it be an easy job or hard thank you for showing the underneath so I got a little idea
Hi i mostly like your clips but in this case i really have to ask how you put all the small details back inside this toy ? in my mind thats a bigger problem then the rear problem issue !
Very nice seeing these old toys given new life and its usualy not anything major that needs to be done to get em good again. And I think there is something to old japanese mythology where items gets souls with age, old toys like these really do seem to have more life in em at least. Also lets not forget how the old theme songs to these shows really are something, and how most of em are done by Shuki Levy ^^.
Such a great help TP! Mine has that stuck tail fin too. Well it did until I saw this! A screwdriver a file and 10 mins made it usable, finally!! Thanks mate👍
Dave, it's absolutely humbling watching you make Photoshop look so effortless. After 20 years I still can't reproduce what you're doing even when I slow it down and follow you click-for-click!
Had this Xmas morning. My mom loved Vanessa and would opt to play her during our mom-child time.

I can't wait to the rest MASK restorations! Big hug from Spain Dave!
Very well done. Great toy. Thanks Dave.
You are a wizard with Photoshop! Outstanding job as always!

Lovely stuff, those sticker redraws look fantastic too! Thank you for uploading them for free :)
always impressive, how you are restoring these stickers. great job !

Hey Dave
What a cool little car.
Thanks for sharing.
Take care 🎉
Awesome, I remember getting this car in early 89 on clearance at Jacks with my birthday money.
Wow that's awesome on how you fixed it and redid the stickers totally dig it.
Thanks 👍
Custom stickers would be a great addition.
Excellent work, as always, Dave.
Incredible end product and wonderful sticker work. Well done!
Thanks 👍
Oh I remember having this back in 86... Memories 💜
Still looks so impressive, Manta is a beauty!
And I’m still always so impressed how you use photoshop for stickers.
Your sticker work is awesome
Thanks 👍 You can watch the full process on TP2 next week.
Happy new Dave!
Merry Christmas! Fun little video, and I always love watching your sticker work in Photoshop.
Thanks Sam. There will be a longer video on the Photoshop work later this week on TP2 for those that want it. Happy Christmas 🎄
Great work once again! Merry Christmas!

not dissimilar to kitt, the pontiac, hmm, idea...
Reminds me of a Z31

Yeah. I quite like this one! I also like the original Vanessa figure too! Nice, vivid, colors!
I would love to see what you come up with for custom stickers.
I may come back to this one as it does look really plain currently.
@@toypolloi Please do! 😁
Damn I wish I had your photoshop skills. Amazing work as always

You should make a custom sticker of a flame effect for the front hood. Almost like the Firebird.

I didn't look, but all the MASK vehicles I have worked on so far have been easily taken apart.
@@toypolloi thank you will give it a try I will
fairlady Z that's a really cool car from the 1980s
To pull the back spoiler out was always hard to do.

The MASK Toys must have been heavily influenced by the James Bond gadgetry on the vehicles working features.
Looking at how use photoshop is amazing!
Love the Manta, just be careful with Vanessa Warfield's helmet. Mine pretty much exploded into shrapnel when I tried taking it off for display. =S
I'm a total sucker for the car this toy is based off of.
Toy Palloi, my dude; where would you be without techno marvels like Photoshop?
Those numbers on the back of the car that's the name of the car actually that car is called in America the Nissan 300ZX
Merry Christmas Dave. What a treat to watch on Xmas day. All the best dude 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Glad it will help.

Don’t really remember much about mask
You missed out. Great toys. Transformed, plenty of hidden and latent features, and a figure inside the box, too.
