  • Let's talk about the fact that Non denomination Evangelicalism uses societal expectations and conformity to control you. Where original thought just leads to bully and harassment.
First I talk about how Miranda and James Derrick are being harassed in real life by the idiots that worship cult leader Katie Joy of WOACB.

Please don’t harass or bully anyone I ever mention here. Let’s be better than going real life. Just sigh and say “Bless your heart!” and do like Jimmy Buffet says “Breathe in, breathe out, move on” Your kindly worded criticism or praise is always welcome, but rudeness will always get you the bums rush straight onto the ban bus every single time. This is not a space for fighting. Even quicker if you show up to whine about my hair in support of a certain very problematic creator. If you come to whine about my hair you can just skedaddle on back to your leader, braid each others hair and talk about what a meanie I am. I left the evangelical church when I developed panic attacks. Found a lot of healing in the Catholic Church. I had evangelicals crying when I told them where I was going to church. My husband just became Catholic this year. We have been yelled at, told we are not Christians, we will lose our faith cause we were hanging around those awful Catholics. Not true! My husband has lost friends over leaving evangelicalism. We were also told we are not walking with God. The bullying is real! Love your content!

Thank you for sharing your story . My husband and I went through something similar when we left word of life church . They loved bombed us when we joined but boy and boy what a difference when we left . We lost all our friends and at first they tried to get us to come but they realized we wouldn’t we lost all so called friends. But before we left I belonged to a women’s Bible study and prayer group for a while but I quit going bc most of the time all the women did was gossip about the other wives in the church that were struggling for one reason or another. Was so weird to me bc I grew up with parents who were atheist but very kind people who had lots of friends who treated each other very well and when I became a Christian and then when I joined this church with my husband, is when I saw some of the most backstabbing people I’ve ever seen. Interesting these women knew Scriptures from the Bible, but could gossip and backstab like nobody’s business . I’m not saying that everybody in the church was like that, but we actually hung out with the assistant pastor and his wife because my husband knew them since he was a teenager. It was that group of people that seem to be the most backstabbing of all. Sorry about my comment being so long lol I forgot to add that we joined a smaller church in those peoples seem quite nice . We would bump into the assistant pastor off and on they would ask if we were going to church and we would say yes and then we would say where we were going and they would say oh well we hope you’re growing spiritually there? 🙄

It's so weird isn't it how consumed with petty gossip many of these places are?

@@suzannetitkemeyernlq oh yes it went from let’s pray for so and so to gossiping about them in the next breath . Very disappointing.

interesting, i have problems with al-anon, aa, stuff because of how much it mirrors cultic high control spiritual groups. 😢 They bully a lot too. I am interested in hearing your thoughts though! Most of my exposure to AA stuff was toxic 2nd hand thing through my parents vs my dad who died when he relapsed.

I wasn't super involved in Al Anon, I attended sporadically because my old cult church wasn't in favor of it. I found some of their thinking and stupid cliches to be helpful, but then again I was a casual attendee because of work, home and church. Sorry your experience was a bad one. There should be a better more effective help, or just compassion for those of us in families with tons of alcoholism.
