I followed Miranda only because I loved the dance videos. When she came out the other day with her video I truly thought her family must be terrible. I decided to watch the documentary. Wow!! She is in a cult. She’s totally under the influence. Having seen the testimonies of the other dancers and the other two ladies sealed it for me! This little interviewer is adorable. I danced in a troupe my entire life….travelled, competed, the whole 9. I’ve adored Miranda and gang for a long long time. I watched with a kindred type of nostalgia and now I’m just so sad. Hang in there. So so sad.

I seriously don’t understand why Miranda and her bf/husband even needed 7M and Robert Shinn? Because his son had a nice camera? They could have built this all on their own and be keeping 💯 percent of the profits. Start out with an iPhone camera and then as you go you buy nicer equipment. It just makes no sense. Dear Melanie, I have had no contact with my twin for about 7 years. She chose to go no contact with everybody she knew (except maybe 1 or 2 people). She wasn't in a cult, but she was influenced by somebody. She came back before COVID hit. My parents welcomed her back, no questions asked (well some questions but not many). I feel the same as you, acting like everything is fine and dandy, but it is not. Now 4 years later i haven't talked with my twin about why she decided to leave for 7 years and what has happened in those 7 years. I see a lot of myself in you. You have so many questions and you want answers. Keep in mind that if and when she leaves the cult and comes back to the family, she might not want to talk in depth about why and how. Your parents are most likely willing to forgive and forget, which is understandable. They will do anything to keep her with them. Please don't let that stand in the way between you and your parents. One reason I "lost" my family because i kept on incisting on the "why's, what's and how's".

One person cutting herself off from her family, could possibly be explained. Many young people cutting themselves off, indicates outside influences compelling them to cut ties, so that it's easier to control them. We all know it. It's shameful that law enforcement has done nothing to pursue the allegations of violence and assault against the women who came forward.
I believe that Melanie felt a bit jealous of Miranda moving on without her. The days of their joint videos raking in millions of views were over. Now that Melanie is married, she can let go of her accusations against her sister, as she has begun to create her own life, similar to Miranda's.

Consider not just believing Netflix documentaries; Consider the creator of this series along with Miranda’s family pitched it to NETFLIX. The creator has been in civil litigation for 2 years with SHINN and The Derricks being sued for defamation. Per open court records it would seem she is going to lose her case big time. Since they are in civil litigation with this creator, legally not a good idea to be in a documentary of the person you are suing. Knowing this, how unbiased do you think this series is? Why would Netflix knowingly allow a creator to put together a series knowing they are in civil litigation and it would be in the creators favor to defame, discredit, and destroy the people suing her?

It´s a sad situation. The documentary was so good and so very well done. I find it so interesting that Melanie was able to see the red flags of the cult when they invited her to the initial private“dinners”, while Miranda obviously did not recognize any of those same signs. Also, it is obvious Miranda didn’t watch the documentary, as it showed SO much more than what happened to the Wilking’s family. How can you NOT at LEAST be open to seeing what happened to the two original Asian ladies who were part of Robert’s cult family? And that happened over 20 years ago? One thing this family might need to think about is that a lot of cults figure out how to blackmail people into staying in the cult. So that might be a factor too. I haven’t watch the documentary yet so idk if they went over that.

Miranda is a grown adult. She is a married woman. She is allowed to make her own choices. Her family has stated their case several times already. Cults are a different thing. It's hard for people to leave on their own. It typically takes a massive and prolonged intervention to wake them up and that still doesn't work. I think, as a parent, I'd hate myself if I said, "Oh well, she's an adult" and then finding out she drank the poison and was dead.

I followed Miranda only because I loved the dance videos. When she came out the other day with her video I truly thought her family must be terrible. I decided to watch the documentary. Wow!! She is in a cult. She’s totally under the influence. Having seen the testimonies of the other dancers and the other two ladies sealed it for me! I have had no contact with my twin for about 7 years. She chose to go no contact with everybody she knew (except maybe 1 or 2 people). She wasn't in a cult, but she was influenced by somebody.
She came back before COVID hit. My parents welcomed her back, no questions asked (well some questions but not many). I feel the same as you, acting like everything is fine and dandy, but it is not.
Now 4 years later i haven't talked with my twin about why she decided to leave for 7 years and what has happened in those 7 years.
I see a lot of myself in you. You have so many questions and you want answers.
Keep in mind that if and when she leaves the cult and comes back to the family, she might not want to talk in depth about why and how.
Your parents are most likely willing to forgive and forget, which is understandable. They will do anything to keep her with them. Please don't let that stand in the way between you and your parents.

Consider the creator of this series along with Miranda’s family pitched it to NETFLIX. The creator has been in civil litigation for 2 years with SHINN and The Derricks being sued for defamation. Per open court records it would seem she is going to lose her case big time.
Since they are in civil litigation with this creator, legally not a good idea to be in a documentary of the person you are suing. Knowing this, how unbiased do you think this series is? Why would Netflix knowingly allow a creator to put together a series knowing they are in civil litigation and it would be in the creators favor to defame, discredit, and destroy the people suing her?

The documentary was so good and so very well done. I find it so interesting that Melanie was able to see the red flags of the cult when they invited her to the initial private“dinners”, while Miranda obviously did not recognize any of those same signs. Also, it is obvious Miranda didn’t watch the documentary, as it showed SO much more than what happened to the Wilking’s family. How can you NOT at LEAST be open to seeing what happened to the two original Asian ladies who were part of Robert’s cult family? And that happened over 20 years ago? Miranda needs to WAKE UP from the cult brainwashing. Critical thinking goes out the door. So freakin’ scary and messed up.

Consider the creator of this series along with Miranda’s family pitched it to NETFLIX. The creator has been in civil litigation for 2 years with SHINN and The Derricks being sued for defamation. Per open court records it would seem she is going to lose her case big time.
Since they are in civil litigation with this creator, legally not a good idea to be in a documentary of the person you are suing. Knowing this, how unbiased do you think this series is? Why would Netflix knowingly allow a creator to put together a series knowing they are in civil litigation and it would be in the creators favor to defame, discredit, and destroy the people suing her?
