I bought a fairly large pot of them from Walmart awhile ago. Wasn't doing well at all, so I knocked it out of the pot and there were three separate plants, two larger and one small, crammed into three individual very small slotted pots set inside the bigger pot. Put them all in water and they grew like crazy! The small one is still fairly small, but the other two are very large now. I think you will love the growth you will get.
I found that Aglaonemas have trouble acclimating for me. If I take cuttings or if I cut off a lot of the existing roots, they will root with proper roots for water or semi hydro. I'm experimenting with a combination of sphagnum and perlite, or sphagnum and perlite, lava rock, and leca, keeping them in semi hydro. I have a pot so far that is really doing well. It's a combo of cuttings and plants that I cut off most of the roots.
@@dominicflorio5708 I love combination planters like that. Oxygen really makes a difference for the roots, so s/h tends to work great!!! I have some aglaonemas that have been living in water over a year. But every environment can be different. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Paul. I love love love Aglaonemas and did exactly what you've done except that my plant went into leca with a self watering set up using a wick. I recently bought 2 mature size Aggies and they only cost $20 Aust. each. I was so thrilled with both plants and will buy another very soon to complete the display. I'm replacing some Syngoniums that gave me nothing but grief with their fine roots. Thanks for sharing this video, I can talk about Aggies forever, they are so easy going and come in so many gorgeous colour combinations.
@@renatecormick7399 wow that’s awesome!!! I love Aggies too. So easy and yes….SO many varieties. So glad there’s another Aggie lover!!!! 😃😃😃🪴🪴🪴. They do well in semi hydro, right? Most of mine are in water, but I have one that’s in Leca and is over 20 years old. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I have one exactly like that that was dying in soil. I put it in water a few months ago but not sure it’s doing as good as it should. Please keep me updated. I may have too much water because it’s a bigger plant.
@@beverlyhardy4398 I swap out the water a lot in the beginning. Acclimation can be stressful. Let me know how the roots look? Hoping it’ll do great for you. 😃

Do you know if African violets will work in water?
@@jaimejofreeman3544 yup. I used to grow all my violets in water. I have a few videos on that as well. Got them blooming and everything. 😃👍🏼
