Dude! WTF's wrong wit you? I mean - you nailed it. I'm speechless. I mean how did you do it - make a surfing film without destroying the soul of surfing? You hit it right on. Not many can do that. Shame on you Dude. Hang Ten Brudda. Hang Ten. Surf on Brudda. Forever. And Forever... And Forever...
Have dreamt about surfing for so many years... This video was the last drop. This year bought a board and caught my first Baltic sea waves. What can I say, it's fucking harder than it looks.
Rincon, yeah, so awesome. Once my buddy Bob Bowditch and myself at Rincon in the morning goofing around in 2 ft swells. No one there but us. Like magic, 4-6 ft lines just start cranking in. We had the whole place to ourselves for 2 hours before the word got out. Your film was beautifully done - love the stunning photography - great mix of tempo, great music! Bravo!
I love watching regular guys rip on regular waves. far too much online content today is based around watching pros surf pipe etc. who wants to watch that?
Glad I caught this 8 years later ! Well done with perfect soundtrack, great slow-mo and a few folks at the Con that show a little respect and don't snake someone down the line. Big Shout Out from Carp Hypnotic.....
Great mojo to this movie mate ...reminds me of why I started surfing in South Africa in the 60's and why I gave up on it in Australia some 45 years later. Good job!!
I was a surfer in the 70s and a documentary filmmaker for national TV the rest of the time. This is the best surf film I have seen really ! It captures the mood of slowness that is also surf as on a wave time is stretched and it is not always as brutal as most surf film tend to be. I guess it has to do with some macho instinct to show how dangerous it can be. I remember when I first saw big waves in El Salvador and my friend Bruno told me “you know what when you are at the top it’s not that steep” That is when time stretch...
Oh Baby! You took me back to my days in, La Jolla and the Strand. I am in my eighth decade on the planet now. It's been a very long time since I was catching waves. Excellent video!
Wow, if only Cali surf spots broke like this more than once every other year. Still mad props to you. This is the first time I've seen a surf film that doesn't take out all the soul of surfing!
I learned longboarding at Santa Cruz, 1966-1968. My 1st board was a Gordon & Smith, a couple of pop outs. It was fun. As kid my parents drove along Hwy 1 pass Malibu. I got stoked seeing people surf. The old thought this was BS. He was a bit of a hard nose guy. Didn't want his kid trying new things. Did you every try County LIne?
Very Beautiful movie Jeff!! CONGRATULATIONS!! Wholly California--(The Essence of it all.) i TRAVEL UP THERE TO VISIT & SURF WITH MATES EVERY 2 YEARS AND--YOU'VE GOT IT ALL HERE!! Aloha and GOD Bless fro "Downunder" here in Beautiful New Zealand. Mark.
Wow, it has been a long while since I watched an entire surfing video... All the way till the end... Amazing combo of images and music... You are an artist!
Jeff liked how you show that almost no wave goes unridden on the point breaks where you've let three rides show at once instead of just zooming real far in. Nice soundtrack too
Great music creates the mellow feel, 5 minutes was enough of the surf but the sounds kept me. These are all places that I hung from the late 60's through the 90's, it finally got too crowded. There are great spots in Baja, CA that I like now, like turning back the clock. Born and still live in So. CA but head South of the border for a couple weeks every couple months for beach time. Thanks for not showing the finger birds in the water or boards parting hair. Also for the memories and the sounds, great job!
Wow . Soul surfing. I grew up in Hermosa Beach on 2nd st we all were soul surfers that was back in the 60's AND 70s. YOU HAD people like Mike Danune, Bill Schulz Tony Malanowitz and many others that were some of the greatest surfers I've ever seen . Look at Redondo break wall in 69 people you never heard of.
Nice work, I enjoyed this a lot. So nice to just see good surf, good filming/editing, and good surfing and not hearing someone talk about how earthly they are because of it. A+
The first time i saw Kelly Slater surf Rincon, I didn't recognize him. All I could blurt out was...."that guy is a ninja!" (with a southern drawl). The locals had a good laugh and then they informed me who it was. Nice footage btw!
Best video I watched since a while... most of the surfing video miss that macro angle, revealing the quality of the wave and the atmosphere on the spot !
Nice shots. I lived in California in the mid 70's and early 80's and it was great. Glad I had the experience. Went back to San Diego a couple weeks ago and it was fun but I'd never live there. Like I tell people.. there are beautiful places in California and the weather can be nice- but it's full of (spiritual) snakes!
Cool stuff, thanks for sharing! Few comments: the way it's framed and edited is refreshing vs. the tons of videos made by and for brands. It also makes it difficult to know where you should focus on when watching it, sometimes 2 actions are taking place at the same time, but maybe it's a trick to get your counter growing :-) Surfing on the Basque Coast in France where it can be crowded too, your images picture a peaceful atmosphere with more friendliness between surfers, especially when several riders are literally on the same wave!
I'm pretty sure that the left point break is actually the right point break that is throughout the film. He most likely just flipped the video in his editing software.
Lived in Ventura in 69, moved to Bates Rd. Rincon point in 73 and stayed till 79, moved to The Rincon Cliff House in 80 till 83, moved to La Conchita from 83 to 99 then back to Ventura midtown to present. I lost a lot of jobs in the early days due to surf. That is until I found a job in a liquor store as a clerk and stock boy working at night. Yeah I'm a local.
Dude! WTF's wrong wit you?
I mean - you nailed it. I'm speechless.
I mean how did you do it - make a surfing film without destroying the soul of surfing?
You hit it right on. Not many can do that. Shame on you Dude.
Hang Ten Brudda. Hang Ten.
Surf on Brudda. Forever. And Forever... And Forever...
+moby dick Its the lack of narration, everbody thinks they're bruce brown now a days.
Nailed it with a spike... I just leave this playing in the background
Não sei o que vc disse

theyre barrels suck tho
This is one of my all time favrioute surf movies . the music, the waves, the feeling like i was watching from the beach
loved that scene at 8:55 where they both doing the same move at the same time just on different waves
Have dreamt about surfing for so many years... This video was the last drop. This year bought a board and caught my first Baltic sea waves. What can I say, it's fucking harder than it looks.
where did you surf?
Rincon, yeah, so awesome. Once my buddy Bob Bowditch and myself at Rincon in the morning goofing around in 2 ft swells. No one there but us. Like magic, 4-6 ft lines just start cranking in. I love watching regular guys rip on regular waves. far too much online content today is based around watching pros surf pipe etc. who wants to watch that?

@5:33 Guy gets a triple drop in, snaps five turns, throwing buckets! third turn was critical board control, Yooooooooooouuu!

Rincon is so classic. I remember seeing it for the first time in 1963 with all the cars parked along the seawall. I knew I'd seen heavan.
I learned longboarding at Santa Cruz, 1966-1968. My 1st board was a Gordon & Smith, a couple of pop outs. It was fun. As kid my parents drove along Hwy 1 pass Malibu. I got stoked seeing people surf. Yeeewww, just surfed Ventura point for the first time today, definitely the best 3footers I've seen.
I'm a geezer living in St. Louis, I used to play blues for money, and that Gary Clark version of "Catfish" brought it all back.
@4:26 duck doing an actual crazy "duck dive." Gotta give him a duck five.
I'm loving this music .. whoever is creating .. props
The guy in the slow motion shot 3:50 is crazy good! Good film!
Wow, it has been a long while since I watched an entire surfing video... All the way till the end... Amazing combo of images and music... You are an artist!

like this, the mood , so done change up....more realistic vibe...
Absolutley one of the top 5 surf vids on RUclips. Soundtrack is stellar! A Ventura Local.
Just got back from Oxnard, got some head high sets, was really good. Great video!!
Perfection, song and surf flow starting @ 7:31.... droool
Pacific Dreams is fantastic! A production. And the music, oh my God! Thank you.
Glad you like it!

What a beautifully human story. Superb film making sir.
Nice work, I enjoyed this a lot. So nice to just see good surf, good filming/editing, and good surfing and not hearing someone talk about how earthly they are because of it. A+
Spectacular video, bro. I'm here in Thailand and I would rather be there.
+Rick Ashmun Go to Phuket, they have some great waves during the winter :)
Thailand is a shit hole
I agree.
But since I am studying here, no waves and shit makes it even harder!
Many awsome days at the Con in the 70's - 80's........!
best footage I've seen in a while
the spin @ 5:32 !!
I like the shots of the city
Outstanding upload! regular dudes ripping it in insanely crowded surf.
The first time i saw Kelly Slater surf Rincon, I didn't recognize him. All I could blurt out was...."that guy is a ninja!" (with a southern drawl). The locals had a good laugh and then they informed me who it was.
Nice footage btw!
Surfing and Salt Life teaches Respect for the World we live in. Mother Nature provides!
Good stuff dude, dreamy waves that really make me wanna surf right now!!!!!
You and me both!
The second song was fucking perfect, and went perfectly with the way everything was being shot. Awesome vid man.
The is the best, raw content I've seen. I wish these spots would break more often ha
This is exactly what it's all about. Beautiful
looks so peaceful with long boards out with short ones, and a few bodybody boards too, like me, but its all peaceful..
Best video I watched since a while... most of the surfing video miss that macro angle, revealing the quality of the wave and the atmosphere on the spot !
🏄🏼♂️. Brilliant! One of the best short hometown surf flicks on UTube! Well done!
Aloha🌈🌴 Kauai

Wow! Southern California has so many surfers! Imagine what it must been like even 10 years ago. They just keep coming
Same on a good day in the 70's. No change

This is beautiful. This is art.
2:20 - - 2:40 - - funny moments! when someone wants to catch a wave, someone else is already on it......hahahaah
I've been goin to a few places in SoCal Torrey pines, Encinitas, some spots in la, once or twice up in Malibu
Pretty legit here
I saw a still of Jalama there in the beginning. Tranquillon Peak.
outstanding work. really enjoyed this. thanks for sharing
MEGA congrats from Texas!!! excellent surf vid!!!!!!!
@4:18 yup that's California alright
Dude yelled, "party wave". Still got it though.
I like 'top to been bottom', fast waves where all you have is time enough to set your rail and go!!!
Beautiful Footage!
It also called "dushbags beach" where 3 surfers ride the same wave without respecting that one that owns it and risking each other
Such a classic film, love this!!!
Work of art right here mang!
Not bad. Picked up some steam after all the Rincon, which was good. Nice video and music.
Cool stuff, thanks for sharing! Few comments: the way it's framed and edited is refreshing vs. the tons of videos made by and for brands.
It also makes it difficult to know where you should focus on when watching it, sometimes 2 actions are taking place at the same time, but maybe it's a trick to get your counter growing :-)
Surfing on the Basque Coast in France where it can be crowded too, your images picture a peaceful atmosphere with more friendliness between surfers, especially when several riders are literally on the same wave!
basque people are dicks on land i cant even imagine what surfers they are
I'm pretty sure that the left point break is actually the right point break that is throughout the film. He most likely just flipped the video in his editing software.
That beach break reminds me of Rc's here in central florida
Yeah check the bird getting smashed at 4:27
I hope he's OK
Bahahhahahaha that's hilarious! Good catch.
Andrew Dade And the man getting his legs destroyed by the surfboard.
Love watching the swell get bigger...

😍🌊 & I Love the Music
what is the song at 1:18??? I looked up kaleidoscope but it's not the same
Whats the name of the song ? 12:10 time ? Gracias,
I thoroughly enjoyed that, it was so rad
Lovely, lyrical, highly unorthodox surf reportage.
dude your business is awesome
that late take off at 3:12 was tight
AMAZING FOOTAGE!
My love for Rincon is only over-shadowed by the hatred for snakes.
+MsRobinSurf it's nuts, isn't it? note the crowd change when it gets slightly bigger.
must be very difficult as a woman
Great footage man!
Really nice movie dude.Keep it up.
Hello Jeff. I'm visiting LA for the first time, and also looking forward to have a surfing lesson. Any hints? Suggestions? thank you!
