It sure is nice to watch a surf flick that whoever made it understood screaming tempo music or rapping doesn't need to be in every single surf video.
Call me old but this is how I remember the California of my youth and how it felt before hiphop and speedmetal arrived. Back when Main Street Huntington Beach was only one way, the Surf Theatre was still open for surf flicks on 5th street - Miki Dora was a legend, Wimpy's Hamburgers, The Golden Bear, & WindanSea Surf club all were open for business.... way back - so long ago you could see all of Aaron's Huntington Surf and Sport at 15th street from standing in the doorway.
Thanks for the memories of what was good in California even tho this is a modern surf flick..... those were the days and the waves remain even though progress has changed the landscape.
I was lucky enough to Surf waves like these at the Santa Ana River Jetty not long after the Steel Pier was removed. Glory Days 1970s

When I was a kid in the 70s, I loved seeing footage of California. Unfortunately, the movies from those days were heavily weighted to Hawaiian surf. I appreciate your beautiful footage of California on it's best days.

I started making surf videos way back in the early seventies when I was in junior my parents bought me a super 8 film camera before video had even come out. I love the music you have put to these waves😂 excellent job all the way around my friend!!!

Congrats Jeff and thanks for 21 minutes of pure gold!! Love how you transitioned from one song to another. Was the music created specific for this edit? Also what frame rate did you shoot the slow motion segments. I'm beginning to dwelve into surf videography and this was pure inspiration.
Thanks for the kind words! I shoot my slow motion shots in 60p and 120p depending on the conditions. As far as music goes it takes me hours to find the right fit. It’s something you feel…hard to explain but the more you edit the more you get the connection. Hope this helps!
