- What a surprise seeing this coalition of six male lions here in Kruger National Park close to Paul Kruger Gate as gate closing time.
They where very relaxed lions and traffic did not bother them at all as the vehicles went pass them. One of the Male Lions looked a bit older and the other one all about the same age.

Yes, these are Nkhulu males coalition
They entered the SS last December and are now settling in the south of the SS. They are doing exploratory tours around the area, especially the leader who is 8 or 9 years old, and the rest are around 4 and a half.
It seems they are acting wisely and cautiously and they are waiting for the right moment from their leader to control the SS, they will not find it difficult to do so especially since the strongest coalition is Ndzenga males they have not seriously established their presence and dominance
Temptations and circumstances allow them to dominate a large numbers of prides that are not protected by more than one or two lions.
Have u seen the recent video of Gore, it's not good💧don't know about Uboso either. Ugh
@@fourtyfive5620 They are all fine there was a clash with the Nkuhuma pride and the mothers defended the cubs but no one was harmed, I guess.

That was the Ndzenga males not these males. They never came in contact with the Nkuhumas.

These male lions looks so serious and I not just their story is familiar to the Mapogos I would say they even look like them like they could be family. Their size looks similar to the Plain camp male lions. With 6 members they are enough to change things a lot and quick and stay stable if they stay together. I just wonder what would happen if they bump into the Kambula male lions all together and or he plain camp male lions who want to be aggressive.

How do they remind you of the mapogos when these are in unknown coalition no one knows anything about them
I said why. They look like them, and maybe I don’t know their story, but I was also saying the way Makulu an older male lion was with the younger males Dreadlocks would be with these younger male lions. Hopefully Dreadlocks can recover, but the younger male lions are related to the plain camp male lions, and they are half brothers and cousins, and Dreadlocks was from the once Delaporte coalition.

Superb pictures, that's not often we can see a six males coalition.
Some of them are still young, means that coalition has not yet reach its full power level... fortunatelly for one or two lions coalition they will confront soon or later. I hope by the time I view this excellent video, that all six are still alive and in good condition ! 🤞🙏

OMG, my eyes were clued to the screen. These magnificent 6 if stuck together as a coalition then, will be seeing the next generation of Mapogos. They will be a force to be reckoned. Don’t want to see death & destruction for any lion. Be nice boys.

Nkhulu young males + De La Porte male (Dreadlocks). Dreadlocks was seriously injured (may have died) last week with a clash with mighty Sourthern Avoca males. All other six members ran away.

@@fourtyfive5620 well these boys were born around late 2018/ early 2019 onward. The Mantimahle were in control of the Nkhulu pride… plus the DeLaporte coalition didn’t form until later 2019 as 3-tooth Tsalala was on his own for pretty much all of 2019. His 2 brothers died in January 2019, 3-tooth was on his own for 8-9 months.

I know Londolozi has already said they'd love to have them, I suppose any reserve would. Where do you think they end up? I'm getting images of all the reserves in competition lining their property lines with dead buffaloes, lol. (JK of course)

There was a report from Malamala in about early December of 6 male lions coming in and causing havoc there. Called Nkhulu males. They killed a cub of Styx pride. One male was older than the rest. They called him the De la porte male. Sounds like the same bunch.

I can't believe it's been 3 years since the Othawa Male was killed, I couldnt believe how hard I took that, we all watched him since he was a strong confident young male taking care od his aunt & sister to eventually go off and begin his own pride. He was such a Handsome lion, I really loved him. There were a couple more after him that died I can't remember their names. Was it Junior maybe? I took that real hard. Then you hear about some Lions getting shot and killed by trophy hunters, that is pure evil. it's definitely nice to see these beautiful boys are still around and doing well, we have to take care of them, all big cats are special❤
considering lionesses do most of the hunting, it takes lot of females to feed them . Big bodies need lot of food . Of course in case of emergency they can hunt themselves if prey is very big like buffalo or giraffe , but usually they dont bother
Emergency? They’ll hunt whenever they’re hungry or feel like it. They don’t wait until an emergency. Males hunt just enough. That’s a old wives tale about males not hunting. They need their skills to stay sharp and you think they only hunt in emergency situations lol. 🤡🤡
They don't bother if food is provided but have been feeding themselves for at least 2 years

They are so young and pretty. I wish all these lions had more space. These parks in s. Africa are wonderful but to boost lion numbers back these lions need more space and territory. If they had more space and territory their nature would take care of diversity and the genetic pool and longer term survival without the need of human interference.

One with matured mane looks like makhulu and the rest looks like MR T especially the one with black mane like Mr T seating close to the one that looks like makhulu from mapogo lions. They might be from their (Makhulu and Mr T) bloodline and they are six in numbers like mapogo.
