- The United States Hot Rod Association heads to the Providence Civic Center for ESPN's Monster Truck Challenge. A tight, Chicago-style "Roundy Round" track will prove to be tough work for the six best monster trucks in the world - Bigfoot, Grave Digger, Taurus, Bear Foot, Equalizer and Carolina Crusher. Hosted by Ken Broo and commentary by Joe Lowe. This event was part of the 6th weekend in the Camel Mud & Monster Series for 1992, and aired originally in August of 1992.
Good video and good racing
It's Ken Broo the Channel 5 cincinnati sports guy. I never knew he did this
Dan Runte’s first televised win.
I forgot how they edited out Diggers wild ride. This is such a clear quality video too, best I’ve ever seen of this event.
Indeed, we'll be covering the Digger incident on this week's Retro Monster Truck Review on RUclips and Spotify.
This is my original recording from ESPN on April 27, 1993, except for the final closing segment which I got on a tape trade about 15 years ago.
I remember this ohhh so well, getting home from school and waiting for this to come on. Back then you got a TV guide in your Sunday newspaper and I would take that out and circle and highlight the dates, times and channel.
This might have been one of the latest versions of Bigfoot, but this truck Bigfoot 8 was was around 3 years old. Gene Patterson had bumped up to Bigfoot #9and Andy Brass had the new Bigfoot #10.
