  • Taking the train from Venice to Rome was really simple. We booked in advance about 3-4 weeks out from our trip, but there were ticket machines in the train station to purchase in person as well.
We had assigned seats and there was a snack car on board as well.
The train made stops along the way, but we main sure to book a train that didn't require us to transfer. It took about 4 hours to get from Venice to Rome.

It is hard to explain to people in America that you can almost go anywhere in Europe by train or by bus. If you want to see Sweden or Norway, you can take the ferry to the train. Glad you had a good trip.

Is there anywhere to store large check in luggage on the train? can you leave the luggage next to where you sit? Also, did you ride on economy seat?

I didn’t see anywhere specific but I didn’t look as I had carryons. Maybe check the FAQ on their website? People with larger bags I saw were tucking them into empty seats/aisles, so if they do have larger bag storage it’s not common.
