The flipper has much better ergonomics, the original feels more sturdy though. Flipper is super easy to use. The original with the stud takes some getting used to, your thumb can hurt after opening it repeatedly. Flipper is definitely better if you’re only intending on light usage, original is better if you want something a little bit heavier duty although it comes at a cost to ergonomics.

I couldn’t resist the original for about 28 USD on Amazon out the door. Should he arriving tomorrow.
I’ve had this on my radar for a while, fingers crossed.

I love that ceo with a thumb stud. What a great point on the pocket clip as a guard 👍👍 great review

I picked up a flipper at a local gun show and I like it alot. I bought the black scales - black blade model. The only thing, the steel liner is painted black and after a month in my pocket the paint is starting to chip away and it's looking ratty. The blade is a different coating and looks fine. Why wasn't the liner given the same coating?

Really great video! I've recently gotten into collecting executive-style knives, and I immediately noticed those differences between the original and the flipper and have similar thoughts to you as well. Have you tried any of Richard Rogers' other designs?

My flipper pops out effortlessly. Never had it hang up once. Id bet if i opened a flipper ten times and you opened the original ten times id have a faster cumulative total.

I don’t think you’ve looked around too much then, especially if the CEO is your favorite knife.

I like my flipper , but it's far from my favorite knife lol. It's great for it's purpose, something that doesn't stand out and it's easier to carry in situations my etc which is a fix blade custom Damascus bushcraft knife, or my larger folder secondary knife.
This knife is cool for weddings or social events that require dressing up or for working in a office or something. It really js a cool little pocket knife, but that is what it is, a pocket knife.

"glorified letter opener" I want anyone who says that to look at the clip point in a medium stockman, and explain the uses of all three blades relative to their thin stock and size, before complaining about the ceo's blade, especially the thicker original. Such a silly criticism.
