Very Helpful video, thank you. I installed it on my Polaris 850. My rack system required removal of the back and side rails, but no issues with that. The installation with the 6 "tie down bolts", provided a very secure mounting system. I used the plastic rectangular washers that came with the tie down bolts, they are very strong, so I did not need the metal washers. I think it may be more secure in some ways to the 4 clamps provided by the manufacturer. It is very helpful to have a "friend" who you can work with for a second set of hands (very difficult to do by yourself; but possible). I installed the foot rests that you recommended, they were easy to install and secure with the metal strap on the back. I used special nuts that have plastic imbedded in them, "vibration" resistant. I had purchased two other sets of foot rests to help decide which were best, but your recommendations were the least expensive, and very solid quality. Thanks you. I added plastic tie down straps along side the existing cloth straps BEFORE they failed; (the stitching on my straps are weak). Adding more weight to the very front of the ATV to counter the increased rider weight at the rear might be useful; but I haven't figured out yet how to do that effectively...?
I have the same set up. I purchased before seeing this video. I bought the same steps, but they did not come with metal backing plates. I'm glad I saw this. Time to hit the hardware store to get some plates for the back of the footrests. I put taillights on the back of the lounger for more visibility. I will post video soon of the install.
Thank you for this video helped so much and worked perfect to get a box on that wasn't made by Polaris saved a couple 100 bucks without drilling into my plastic
in the democrap state of PA. the ONLY atv you can ride with more than one person on is a "Factory Built" Two up unit, all else is just one glimpse of the dcnr away from a "ruined" weekend , plus fines$$$, just saying, if dcnr is in trailhead or parking lot where your unloading or when you come back to load up your caught and screwed
You just got a like and a sub sir. I just got this seat last week for my sportsman 1000. Couldn't figure out a good way to put it on until now. Thank you!
Nice box. If I may add a point to ponder. The box is to be installed so as the passenger sits "on top of the rear wheels" not behind, as the weight should be forward of, or on the wheels. Yours looks a little behind.
Amazon now has, but you'll pay more. Buying from the manufacturer is less expensive: www.redhoundauto.com/collections/rv-accessories/products/red529002
@@OutbackOntario I did order the foot pegs. No metal plates came with mine. Amazon purchase. I never installed but if I did I’m thinking door 🚪 hinge might work well.
Almost 21k views and only 124 likes? Lot's of lazy people out there. If I could like this more than once I could. Great video. Foot holds are sweet! Great idea!
@@OutbackOntario i get it however it’s still illegal and can’t be as comfortable as a factory two up. It’s also not safe having the extra weight behind the rear wheel
Adding this seat does not necessarily make your atv a 2up atv, or legal to ride on trails maintained by atv clubs. Where I live, I cannot legally ride with my wife on the back seat on club trails. Riding on personal property is not an issue though. Liability is the key issue here. With a true 2up atv, the machine is engineered to have the weight of the back passenger in front of the back axle, and not behind. Having the passenger sitting behind the axle changes the atv’s physics and creates a situation where the atv could flip more easily sideways or flip back, and cause injuries/death. So check with your local/state authorities before you buy the seat for something you can’t do legally.
I always cringe a bit when people call four wheelers "Quads" when the very same people call "Tris" three wheelers. Either way, I'm wondering how your 2 up box is holding up as I'm in the market for one. Can you verify the width of the seat? Can’t find anywhere that states.

Move to America
Thanks so much. In the market for a trunk/rear seat for our new Kodiak 700, and this was very helpful. Cheers!
Why is there moisture inside the box?
Glad I didn't get one!
Planning on installing this too , your video is 2 years old hows the box doing ? Has it lasted?
Yup no response. Same curiousity here

I really like the step idea
Those foot rests were a good call.
Yeah they work great, a friend bought the cloth ones that hang from the rack and they broke first dayout.
what is the brand of those footrests. i cant seem to find them. incredible video.
see i used a kimpex on my 2018 sportsmen is great. love the 450 quad for trail riding
Can you remove the seat cushion to be able to remove the 4 wheeler seat?
The seat cushion does not remove but it lifts up just enough to remove the quad seat.
The 2up seat needs to be in front of the axle to be legal
Where did you buy the foot pegs bro?
eBay has them type in atv foot rest
Great video man.
My friend uses 550 cord for his straps.
Hey do you know somewhere else to buy the foot rests? Amazon dont have them in stock anymore.

Does the DNR or cops give you any trouble for riding two people on this with the 2nd seat ?
Will this fit a can am outlander
do you remove the storage box? i just got the same set up with the husky but the don’t fit in the holes. and if i do they are not coming out lol.
Did the metal plate for the back of the foot pegs come with the footpegs?
also wondering..

Has anyone tried mounting this with the Lock and Ride mounts?
Does a full face helmet with anywhere in this box?
I am trying to but it but what are the measurements
my name is Sky from SUNPIE Technology, we have an atv rear storage bag, and I was wondering if you are interested in testing it.
Thanks for this video, I see it's not at all waterproof!!

is it legal for trail riding 2 up??
No it’s definitely not unless the machine is a factory two up

Relax and live a little
Rear rack on some of the larger machines is rated for 200lbs. Live free and use common sense.
Here we go there is always a mister no it all relax who cares I have one on my brute force for years no problem and I ride with the groups
Good video
is it waterproof???
Yea
i like it :=)
