- Marxist philosophy is a way of understanding how society works. It was created by Karl Marx, a famous thinker who lived in the 1800s.
Marx studied how people live and work, and he came up with ideas about why some people are rich and others are poor.
He thought the main reason for this was something called "class struggle," which means that different groups of people fight for control over resources.
Marx believed that society is divided into two main classes: the rich and powerful, called the "bourgeoisie," and the working class, called the "proletariat." The bourgeoisie own businesses and factories, while the proletariat works for them.
Marx said the bourgeoisie gets richer by making the proletariat work very hard for low wages. This creates an unfair system where the rich keep getting richer, and the poor remain poor.
One of the key ideas in Marxist philosophy is "historical materialism." This means that the way people make and use things, like food, clothes, and homes, is what shapes society.
Marx believed that over time, different ways of making things lead to new kinds of societies. For example, in ancient times, there were kings and slaves, then came feudalism with lords and peasants, and now we have capitalism, with the rich and the working class.
He thought that one day, capitalism would end, and a fairer system called "communism" would replace it. In communism, everyone would share resources equally, and there would be no rich or poor.
Marx also talked about "alienation." This means that workers feel disconnected from the work they do because they have no control over what they make.
For example, if a worker in a factory makes shoes all day but never gets to wear those shoes, they might feel like their work doesn’t belong to them. This can make workers unhappy because they don’t feel proud or connected to what they produce.
Today, Marxist ideas are still important because many of the problems he talked about are still happening. There is a big gap between rich and poor people in many countries.
Some workers do not get fair pay or good working conditions, and companies care more about making money than about the well-being of their workers. Marx believed that one day, workers would realize how unfair the system is and work together to create a better society.
Marxist philosophy helps us understand why there are so many inequalities in the world. It also gives us hope that, by working together, we can create a more equal and just society.
