Great conversation, ladies! I am 53 and had to distance myself from my mother because she wouldn't cooperate, she won't listen to me and my needs. I had the loosest boundaries that a daughter could have UNTIL I met my now husband seven years ago. Now she doesn't like him and has tried to send many of her flying monkeys to try to get me back in 'my right mind'. I discovered the term "MotherWound" recently and working my way through my MotherWound. It's a journey.

My parents were the opposite. Divorced shortly after I was born, but by the time I was a teen they were best friends. Took road trips together and everything, without us! My mom even took care of my dad after his strokes as an ex wife. I wish they had remarried before he passed so we could celebrate them.

I love that for them. And so sorry for your loss. 😢
