Euclid tbh cvs2 along with mvc2 was the starting point of capcom making fighting games flashy as a priority. Now the only things that are "flashy" are the stage's backgrounds.

Road Kill nah, been at tournaments, no one uses emulators. And those players are using a plug and play mechanism and testing on the fly they're joystick, they are not mapping buttons and then testing them. They are very picky, already checked at the combo breaker rules and they are using the PS2 version with PS2 compatible figthsticks 👍
Nero of Rome they're not it all depends on how you play. Capcom chars are strong footsie base while snk are combo. Highest level you're not going to rush in and do free combos. SNK was never good at pokes into confirms. Real bout2 is probably their closest game where pokes and combos made sense
For business purposes you can't have a competitor looking as good as you in a feature game otherwise they might possibly check out that co petitors game (in this case kof) so even though some SNK chars can be good when it comes tp absolute top level tournament play the capcom fighters will always be designed to look better.. it's strictly business. Presenting SNK chars in even a comparible light is potential reduced revenue.
This is one of the common misconceptions about CvS2. There are lots of strong SNK characters in this game that can compete against any of the strong Capcom characters at a high level of play. Iori, Hibiki, Geese, Rock, Kyo, Mai, Rugal, Yamazaki, Vice, etc. There are many examples of top players doing well with these characters, especially in Japan. Buktooth, Leezy, Rai, Yane, P-Rugal, and Gao are prominent examples. I love this game, but watching gameplay of a lot of older fighting games makes me realize just how few characters are used in these, usually. It's like every game is Marvel 2, and you always see the same 5-6 characters being used ad infinitum
Watch more Japanese tournaments. You'll see a much wider range of characters played, and an overall higher skill level too. At least 20+ are viable at a high-level.
The only thing triggering me about this game is that people who were never loyal to Bison use him due to tiers. Anyway, I love the way he plays in this game, especially with the KOF98 (N-groove) style.
