At 21:43, pause the video and use the period button (on your keyboard) to move the video frame by frame. Skip until Boxer is in his resting crouching pose. Two frames later his sprite is in his rising pose. The next frame, Dee Jay goes for a kick. The next frame, Boxer is fully up and Dee Jay is in his second frame of his kick animation. In the very next frame, Boxer activates his super and punishes Dee Jay.
In 1 frames of animation, Muffin saw an opening and went in for it but in 3 frames after, JimmyBones activated his super. That just blows my mind how they can read their opponents like that.

Those are the original names. This was played on the Japanese arcade version. The names were changed for the international versions.

So what are the strategic advantages to choosing the "classic" version of a character? You basically get the "old" fighting style if you like it better but on the other hand you lose super combos?
It changes the characters back to how they were in New Challengers, the iteration just before Super Turbo. For most characters, it's a disadvantageous choice because the majority of the cast got buffed between the two SF2 versions, however some old characters like Old Ryu and Old Sagat are more powerful in spite of losing their supers and not being able to recover from throws. That's because they simply have better hitboxes and quicker moves overall iirc, but like I said it's not like that for other characters. My main, Dictator, has a worse everything in his old version so there's no reason not to just pick the standard ST version of him.

That's because he's using "old" Ryu. Each character has an old version that you can select by inputting a code upon selection. The main differences are that they use the classic colors, don't have super meter and cannot soften throws.
Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix it's available in Xbox and PSN store online in arcade, the characters have at least 5 different colors to choose from depending on the button input you choose to select them, from orginal to new ones, also the super meter combos are available depending on what style you choose

hmmm... maybe, I have severe ADHD so maybe that has something to do with it, and I am new to street fighter so maybe I don't see the finer differences, but from my perspective they both share the same type of footsies and don't have crazy combos like ultra 4, but I actually like third strike the most, so your comment about flashiness naught have some truth cause I love parries :p

Prolly because youre new to SF i have no doubt about it. You dont need a vast knowledge on Super Turbo to understand it, but the moment you grasp how deep it is you start to enjoy it. More i watch ST and 3S gameplays more i keep thinking that capcom really wanted to kill the old SF formula in favor of the new Shallow Fighter 5 that cant even work properly.
