I respect all these players especially justin wong whom some say he's goat of All time. I beg to differ. He is just the Goat in Marvel vs capcom 2 and Street fighter 4 n 5 from 2008 to 2021. But back in the 90s we had alote of equally ir better players then jwong. Like Tomo whos was goat of the 90s along came daigo and Alex. But From the 90s all the way to 2017 were some others Goats from the Midwest and that's me and my bros the Solis. People barely invited us to tournaments and when we did go to a few of them 1 of us would definitely win. Its Cvs1 in Cvs2 any Street fighter 2.In addition other figjting games. So to be the Man you have to beat the Man Jwong and the rest. Invite me to this and other fighting game so u can see me styke and profile with diferent stuff. Whoooh

no its not. the basic gameplay and the engine is still like ST then you got grooves, parries, dodge, roll, CCs making it a more interesting game.

@@teamspooky always wondered about the setup at tournaments. Are they playing on two separate (but connected) dreamcasts? That's how it looks on player cams.
Also, are dreamcast controller converters completely free from input lag?

@@blagd Most converters have no lag if using direct input, raphnet does this for their pc to ignore usb over, which makes it the idea adapter for a lot of things, i.e n64 controllers for smash 64 and saturn controller for fighting games. Most modern raphnet adapters have 2-5 Ms of lag, which is nothing as one frame is like .16th of a second
Most modern setups use light guns, which to explain simply is a consoleized arcade board, this allows them to use orignal hardware while letting them connect to either modern displays or pvms, and allowing for USB connectivity, thus arcade sticks.

CvsS2 Vice is the best version of her in any game, in my oppinion

It's definitely a lot less common, if only cuz back then, you could reuse sprites (notice Morrigan looks cut/pasted in a la Mugen) so crossovers weren't too risky for either company and could be put out for a lot less, whereas now it's a lot bigger of a gamble, and both companies gotta agree to risk it, which is harder than just getting one company to.
@@poego6045 not sure if true or not but I hear/read a lot about how 3D models are a lot cheaper to make and use compared to sprites which require more time and money. considering how long its been since we had a crossover game with some actual effort put into it I feel like it would be well received.

I love Morrigan's sprite. Because she's already a weird, bizarre character, so her outdated sprite fits her weirdness and out of place looks.
i wish a new capcom vs snk was a thing on next gen
it would be crazy if there was a cvs2. Especially with all the capcom characters and SNK characters that came out. Cause then you got the Alpha 3 grooves, then the SF4 Ultra meter with Focus, then SF5 with the V-trigger and V- Skills. then SNK ended up getting that max mode cancel stuff later on. If they made CVS 3, there is probably going to be like 10 Grooves to choose from lol.
I don't have faith that todays Capcom would live up to this.
For those that don't know, Vyck has been mad gross for a long time in NY along with his brother/cousin/friend (sorry if you see this & I got it wrong bro). They're VERY passionate about CVS2 & play with anyone, it's good to see the world see their skill in display. GGs

I remember when I was a teenager in 2001 playing Capcom vs SNK 2 match of the Millennium 2001 and the arcade and I still love the game had it on PS2 years ago and I just repurchase it I can't wait to get it

You dont see US players really use alot of the more skill intensive characters in this game. Basically just blanka/sakura/sagat/bison
I loved playing the blade characters like Hibiki and Haohmaru. They both were powerful and can range and poke very well.

everytime I watch a CVS2 tournament on youtube I say to my self: "why is this game not played around anymore?", then I came across to the mandatory Vega poking game and I stop wondering.
yeah, it's a shame. when you get a diverse range of teams it's one of the best games to watch but when you see yet another Vega/Blanka/Sagat team it's ResidentSleeper all day
You should see LatinAmerica gamers, we're SNK specialists.... that very thing you described about Vega can be somehow easily handled by Eagle, Iori, Kim, Benimaru - Yes, Benimaru -, Mai, King, Kyo, Yamazaki and Vice.... You just don't see SNK's more often in competitve cause it seems USA and non LatinAmerica are mostly CAPCOM school.

Morrigan used the exact same sprite from the original 1994 Darkstalkers up to Capcom VS SNK 2. Tatsunoko VS Capcom was the first game to give Morrigan a new look which was her first 3D model.

The team in the right is sad. It really shows how much the player feels they need power characters like Blanka and Sagat as a crutch. So many characters in that game, yet most of them went completely unused until Roll-Canceling was discovered. Well, the rest of the cast could have been used when the EO version was released, but they'll never use it at tournaments because Capcom actually attempted to balance it. God forbid balance...

They played like regular people at an arcade with cheazy jabs/kiks, entry level combos and no counters/breaks
It's called *neutral*, and *poking*. I highly doubt you have the skill to touch the players in pool. So unless you're in one of these tournaments sit down, shut up and watch. Maybe you'll learn something.
@@mikealangeloy It's a cheap way to play/win in Japan. Those players are in this video does not know or use all of the combos, counters, and moves of the characters played. This why you see that “poking” play style… Are those in the tournaments from a close geographic area? Btw... My first tournament was IN Japan 1998 on the SFII Turbo Champion arcade system. You don't know about the original tournaments because you were still shitting diapers!
J. Alexander I’m not saying that using neutral and turtle style is bad. It becomes cheesy when that’s all a person does.
That play style does results with higher win average with mediocre players but loose more when up against dynamic players.

Cookey strategy is so predictible spcially with vice he tries to get close and make light attacks and then role toward you light attacks and then wait for half a second while you are blocking and then unleash the super move witch is imblockeble ! too easy for me !
N64 was wack, that controller was horrible, not revolutionary. The proof is in the pudding, it didn’t have a SINGLE Street Fighter title
It was revolutionary because it put an analog stick on a standard console controller for the first time. The PS1 controller didn’t get analog sticks until a year after the N64 came out, it was just a d-pad and 8 buttons for the first two years.
