    Its true! Eric had name recognition in the 70s and 80s. She knew to use the name Roberts because of that. His fame dimmed while hers rose.

    Eric Roberts has no room to talk about overacting. He's a pure ham in most of his movies. That said, he gave one of the best performances I've ever seen in "Star 80." He should have been nominated for an Oscar and won that year. He looked gorgeous in "King of the Gypsies." A lot of tribute videos and clips of him from that film are on RUclips and social media.

      I agree that Eric is a more versatile actor. The wrong Roberts has an Oscar. Ellen Burstyn should have won for "Requiem for a Dream" the year that Julia won. Again, Eric deserved an Oscar for his tour de force performance in "Star 80."

    Eric is an excellent actor deserving of a solid high-quality comeback commensurate with his skill and the Oscar worthy heights he reached earlier in his career in films such as “Star 80”. I wish him all the best. He works so hard year round in myriad roles of varying quality. He deserves better roles so that he can pick and choose.

    Eric Roberts, Congrats on beating your Drug Addiction. That is Amazing. And you have one of those rare and awesome marriages that a lot of people say, Hollywood marriages don't last and yours is still going strong. I hope your relationship with your daughter and grandson grow stronger each day. Eric is such an talented and amazing actor and just because his fame has not rose like Julia Roberts does not mean Julia is more talented. Julia just happened to make the blockbuster hit, Pretty Woman. He is very versatile. I still remember how he was in Star 80.

    I loved Steel Magnolias, but I have to agree with Eric on that one. Julia wasn't great in that. And he is right that once you get into that kind of stardom, people will not tell you the truth. I felt that way about a couple of the actresses in that film, tbh. They could have done better with a few reshoots.

    He is authentic and u shouldnt need permission to be so, he is very much Julias big brother, its an 11 year gap, she is his baby sister and he launched her career literally so he should be able to be honest and he was. He is an actors actor, he is the real deal, intense character actor, got his 1st golden globe nomination with his 1st movie in 1978

      ​​@@crabbcakeThat's a LIE. He's been famous since King Of The Gypsies, which came out in 1978 (Julia was 11). In 1983 he became a legitimate star with his brilliant performance in Star 80. The next year (1984) he was outstanding in The Pope Of Greenwich Village. Then came Runaway Train in 1985, for which he was nominated for Academy Award; all of that was accomplished before Julia appeared her first movie. Know the topic before you open your trap next time.

My bf I couldn't sit still to watch it, then during the scene where Julia is having the Diabetic attack he was yelling at the screen so they aren't into it like us Ladies I cry everytime Malynn cry to her friends at cemetery scene where she feels all alone without Shelby, that's an intense deep movie only us Ladies understand an gets it !

    Steel magnolias was a story about a lady with diabetes that fought for her life. I know because my sister had juvenile diabetes and died at the age of 29 with similar life Julia Roberts Portrayed.

      My family fell in love with him after watching the first Stalked By My Doctor movie. Other recent works are also great. He's good at acting complex characters that are creepy, sweet, and funny. He's the bad guy that you love.

    Steel Magnolias is one of my all time favorite movies. I think Julia is a much better actor than Eric. We all have opinions, yet at the end of the day, does it mean much?

    wow. talk about ego, hes full of himself. julia has had leaps & bounds more success than him, hes delusional. dont be sure just because she is your “sister” she’ll forgive you. family has this EXACT misconception they can treat family like absolute crap with NO consquences. smarten up eric

      He introduced her to acting as he was already in New York. Brothers say stupid things to sisters all the time and every sibling doesn't always get along. Julia should have apologized to her current husband's ex-wife for being his mistress and throwing it in her face.

    For me he was a great actor.
    Yes he was playful to the point of silly.
    But he also Excelled.

    I think siblings can be very critical of each other when you're not famous but Julia is also NOT a nice person either as many have said. His opinion is not a very popular one but it's his. Since they're both actors, I would've asked him why didn't he think Steel Magnolias wasn't a good performance but who cares..
