One critical part of the high anchor is to set a range using odd numbers. So instead just throwing out $62500 suggest that in similar roles, other companies pay between $62500 and $67355. Use that odd numbering again to solidify that the number has been calculated not just drawn out of thin air. adding a high end to the range repels your counterpart but makes that first number more attractive. You never know, your counterpart may agree to that first one!
Also just a point as a relatively experienced legal negotiator: As well as giving your reasoning for your extreme offer, as the opposite side low balls you, be prepared to ask them for their reasoning for going significantly under your figure because it will often reveal shortcomings in their line of reasoning (make sure this is as polite as possible, GOTCHA tactics won't work to convince someone)
Thanks Kittel, i really appreciate it. If you wanna help me, a share would be amazing. But you have already done enough by just watching my video. Thanks for your nice comment!
Hey guys! Thank you so much for watching! If you think that this video deserves more views, please share this with one of your friends that might be interested! It would really help the channel out! Any questions and suggestions are Highly appreciated too! Have a great day.
Raising the bar, sir! 🙌🏽One area that you may be interested in improving is the voice. It's harder to understand you in this video compared to the other ones.
@@StoryShotsApp Not for this one unfortunately. But i'll do my best to make the audio better for the next ones. It's gonna take a while until i can invest again in this youtube channel. I've recently bought an expensive camera so i'm taking it easy. I don't think it's all that bad though right?
@@LifelongLearnerChannel Glad to hear. It's not that bad, but man, that video deserves better 🤗 Keep up the awesome work! BTW, any plans for a podcast version, maybe on Anchor.fm?
This is probably clear to you by the comments and results, but this format is great. Do more. :) There is animation on RUclips, there are talking heads on RUclips, but I see this as a unique lane for you.
Is the "Final Offer" advice actually reasonable? I cannot imagine negotiating an engineering salary and throwing out a ridiculous number like $87321. The hiring manager would look at me weird and I feel like that's a waste of my time and disrespectful of my own. I care about the extra $321, but on some level we have to say it's not worth it.
I think so, it shows that you've gone ahead and actually calculated what you're worth. I'm a VFX artist and I have a dayrate and every year I multiply that dayrate with inflation which results in weird numbers like $515.23 or whatever. Should'nt matter, it's just a number.
@@ayushsrivastava9364 Ah, I understand the confusion. 54k was just an example of someone offering more than you bargained for. It has nothing to do with the later negotiations.
I am not sure if you are aware of how bad "overanchoring" can backfire. Your advise is plagiary and incorrect even. Did you ever consider your employer might feel that you're a greedy bastard?

Thanks Lena! Appreciate it. Welcome to the channel!
This is a great video, I feel a mix of this and the animation video would work wonders.
Thanks Froggy! I'll try it.
Amazing animations and even the anchor effects. Fun stuff. Now I recall all that I've read. Thank you :)
Thanks you!
This was a fun delivery style!
Hey thanks!
This shit is next to funny also super informative. Underrated channel in my opinion!
Commenting to up you in the infamous RUclips Algorithm
I'm a lifelong learner myself, unfortunately life's too short for me hehe
Confused. Why not go for first offer of 54k? That was more than final amount or originally planned amount
That was the first offer, you may be able to talk them up.
Because you can probably get more. Even if you can't, the 54k will still be there.
@@LifelongLearnerChannel But in the video, you finalized on a lower value of 51k. That's what got me confused
@@ayushsrivastava9364 Ah, I understand the confusion. 54k was just an example of someone offering more than you bargained for.
It has nothing to do with the later negotiations.
Thanks so much! Gonna try and use these tips to get a huge raise 🤞🏾🤞🏾
Good luck! Hope it helps
Well edited and love the Streambeats music. Subbed my boi :)
Thanks JNacho! Welcome!
great job, great animations
Thanks David!
I know Christopher... a real Alpha from the FBI, trust me on that one folks.
You know him? How do you know the author :0?
the video starts at 1:28 and ends at 9:25
Very helpful!
Im glad :)
Great overview and sharp editing!
Much appreciated!
You spelled “the negotation” on your wall. Proof read my dude!
Great summary
this FBI guy is definitely the one to learn from, I mean think about it... if he failed it could mean death for the victim...
Haha thats right. High stakes.
Does anybody know the source of the Video Wall that was used in the video ?
It's not an actual video wall. it's Visual effects :)
best case scenario: never ever split anything lol 😂
Yous spelled "negotiation" wrong hee hee

r u dutch?
FBI negotiator? wouldn't he rather interrogate people?
No he negotiates with bank robbers or kidnappers usually
