    Thank you for this. I am a self taught soaper and laundry detergent maker since the pandemic started. I was unaware of how to make laundry crystals and just stumbled across this.

    Oh, I am dating myself, but its exactly like my chamber pot when I was very little! We got indoor plumbing when I was 6.
    Thank you so much for this recipe - I am doing this!!!

    This is great! I did used lavender, and added some dollar store rock crystals, lavender! However, my family does like the snuggles boosters I put in my wash, I have to try to figure out the scent! Thank you

    I was just thinking about buying some of this ... I already make my own laundry detergent and have for years but I saw a video recently where a lady added this to her detergent for smell & as a water softener. Thank you so much for sharing how to make it yourself, it will definitely save me some $$$.

    • @LittleVillageHomestead
      @LittleVillageHomestead  6 лет назад +1

      It will soften the fabric but not the water. It will however, get your clothes very clean and leave them bacterial viral and fungal free... But your water will not be soft........I use it all the time and love it with some very pure essential oils....

      Thanks to both of you! I was looking through the comments to see if it was good for hard water. Had to move from the big farmhouse into a little one so the next generation could have the big house. I've been blessed with soft water for so long, using hard water is back in my life and ha ha, I've forgot lots of my old ways. Going to make some soon!

    Seen a tip...add salt and oil together first ..then add backing soda last..that helps oil stick to salt better because baking soda can clump and reduce oil smell...just a tip I seem don't know if it really matters

    I am pretty sure that enamel pot is a diaper pail, at least that is what my Dad sold them as when he had the antique store.

      Hi. I always put my unstoppable (will be using this diy method soon as Irun out 😂) and pods in the front load washer and start it let it run for 2 minutes then pause it and wait for it to unlock then add my clothes. If this makes sense. It keeps my crystals in my pants from sticking to my clothes. Hope this helps

    I have a low flow washer and I hate it. It doesn't have much water in it and I worry it will not dissolve. so if I put it in the dispenser will that be ok? I read that plain salt is a water softner.

    • @LittleVillageHomestead
      @LittleVillageHomestead  6 лет назад +1

      As long as water runs through the dispenser I would think that it would be fine..It is salt and that dissolves rather quickly

    • @marilynryan7822
      @marilynryan7822 6 лет назад

      Michele, I use crystals and baking soda in the low flow washer also, I just start with a little hot water then switch to warm but it dissolves quite well.

      If your washer has a "bulky" setting, keep it on that setting and you will get a full washer every time. I also have a low consumption washer.
