*Abandoned* Leverton Level Crossing (24/05/2021)

After the final train left the line, on 28th September 2019, the line was officially closed.
The final train ran from Clapham Junction to Worksop, circling this line at Cottam Power Station.
May 2021, has seen Leverton completely disconnected from power, and will not be used again.

Between March 2019 and September 2019 there were two trains per month. Since 30 September 2019 there has been no traffic on this branch line. The line is still classed as live but due to their being no traffic only mandatory inspections such as weekly track patrols are performed. Having driven across the line myself on 15/05/2022 it appears still overgrown with brown rails. You got your directions inverted ‘Retford’ was the other way. The former Railway Inn pub occupied the waste ground adjacent but was demolished c2005. I can clearly remember the freight trains to Cottam power station using this line, slow & extremely long.

The Signal Box, that once stood at this Crossing. My Great Granddad was a Signalman and this was his last box.
