Was weight an issue with the finished project or were the frame and tires able to endure it over the road? Do you know the final cost of it? I would like to know before starting something like that myself. Thanks
I said the same thing..AND it just seems a shame that after all the effort that went into something that damn heavy, why wouldn't they spend anytime upgrading the axles, wheels and hubs. But instead it sits on the stock wheels rated for 55 MPH.
The roof itself on a pop up is quite heavy alone and the hardware for the pulley system has a lot of weight also and with all that being remove it allows for much more weight to work with..I’m in process of doing this same thing and the weight by my research, most that were rebuilt come under the weight that it initially held. 😊
I have not weighed it yet, but the it has a 2000 pound Dexter axle under it and i have pulled it on a couple long road trips so far and have had zero issues with. Rides great, no swaying on bouncing. If i had to guess i would put it at 1700 ish
I was wondering the same thing.....you see some RUclips videos that make a huge deal about the trailer bring beefed up to support the house....I was thinking of his ways just to lighten the load instead. Thought about fiberglassing the walls and roof by just Putin a couple layers over polystyrene panels our polyurethane if I could get a hold of them. Maybe not necessary, I guess. I like the outbuild too. Is there no problem with the house overhanging the wheels? What are the overall dimensions?

looks like the pics were a little out of sequence. Why that artificial floor? why the gap? also another question for anyone that wants to answer, on these "tiny homes" (trailers), why not steel studs? aren't they lighter?
+Alex Alderton thanks for reply. may I ask 1 more question? that thing can be legally towed anywhere? any restrictions on that? it looks real nice by the way. good job!
No waterproofing that I can see, waferboard flooring that'll swell in the first rain, WAY too much wood for a tiny trailer, and 120 wiring...put that thing on blocks in the back yard, and start over.
Ya i thought about it but i wanted the extra storage of my bed and wanted the convenience of just getting off work and just hooking it up with all my gear in it ready to go.
I thought of that option too, there are pros and cons with both, one major pro with using a trailer instead of a van is that if the van breaks down you can just get another van and won't need to rebuild the camper portion. a van has a lot more mechanical parts to break down over the trailer.
oldschooldiy I really wanted to see it coming together because it's a great camping size but it was just confusing! Can you fix it so it is showing the build in order and not jumping around? I agree with this previous comment...had to stop watching. 😔
The Howling Yorkie & Kristy Gordon yea I kept messing my build up cuz I was building it backwards sometimes so I had to be careful not to go backwards.
video is not too long, so watching is not a big pain. and I just use the right arrow on the keyboard to speed along videos which might be taking too long.
Nice camper. It is great to build something from the ground up. Thanks for posting !
Awesome job I have to many ideas thanks for sharing
Hey that's cool I like the build that you made with the slight diversion in design it shows that you are creative in nature hands on.
NICE craftmanship!!
The tiny house is very nice - but that music - ugh!
Joan Milano ya sorry first video on RUclips, that was just one of the preloaded songs from RUclips
@@alex104314ray this is the same music demo ranch uses lol
@@alex104314ray I like the song in this proyect.
moonstruckvamp off the ranch
@@alex104314ray I thought it sounded familiar! I remember that "free song" option.
thank you for posting the video, very nice build.
Good build! Thanks
from my view looks great and good job Alex.

very nice and different good job love it
What did you stain the wood with?....Looks great.
ever see someone build a house like this based on the hilo trailors? would be pretty sweet!
Do the cantilevered sides affect how it tows?
wow.....nice build...
What nails are you using for the siding?
Why wouldn't you builders spend anytime upgrading the axles, wheels/ rims and hubs before building and adding all that weight ?
So this is a bad idea??
@@hershekissed WEIGHT...is the enemy
Thanks. I'm only 5 ft tall trying to find a way to down size my life and cut waste.
Wow I think I'm your 💯 subscriber!
Your vid is awesome - enjoyed the build. Great craftsmenship
Original, cute...very nice job. How much did it weigh..finally?
Any problems with roof at highway speeds?
I like your build. I frickin sweet
Really nice.
Cool tiny house
that might be too heavy for that trailer... but i love how simple it is...
I agree, although the gvwr of the axle isn't given. I' use 2x2's lighter plywood and keep the roof. Very beautiful build.
Hello, i just want to know how much was the total of the cost also how lond did it take to build?
3000 with tools include in that. And I just worked on it in my spare time for about 4 months. But can be done quicker
How tall is it inside ?
Can you stand in it ? if not why??
Any more builds in the works or on the back burner?
Greg Boyer nothing yet but I will keep ya posted
Do you have any issues with wind resistance? Have you taken on the highway at all?
No issues at all. Pulls straight down the highway hardly even feel it back there
I would worry about that weight on that very tiny trailer
Yeah I was thinking it looks real heavy.
I didn't see ANY waterproofing...water is INSIDIOUS..especially at 60mph
How long is the the 2x4 vertical roof support? I'm guessing somewhere around 16" or so?
ya i think it is exactly 16" actually
Is that with or without the additional 2x4 on top of it?
with
Very nice but are the photos all out of sequence for a reason?
I just suck at making a youtube video, fought with it for an couple hours and could not get it right
Cute, but too tiny for me. I'll keep my cabin tent with A/C 😎
That trailer is most likely WAY over-weighted.
I said the same thing..AND it just seems a shame that after all the effort that went into something that damn heavy, why wouldn't they spend anytime upgrading the axles, wheels and hubs. But instead it sits on the stock wheels rated for 55 MPH.

Great trailer!!! I want to do the same , do u have plans???
Very nicely done sir would you mind telling me the dimensions of the build. I'm looking into doing one similar and I'm drawing up plans.
OH by the way it looks great in any order.
What size is that. Is that a 5x8
6x10
how tall are the walls
great job bro !
Hogar dulce hogar ¡¡ 👍
Home sweet home.
very cool, but isn't it way over the trailer's weight limit?
I have not weighed it yet, but the it has a 2000 pound Dexter axle under it and i have pulled it on a couple long road trips so far and have had zero issues with. Rides great, no swaying on bouncing. If i had to guess i would put it at 1700 ish

biggregg5 outside is 5.5 ft x 9ft. And there is a 4 inch recess for the wheels
Any idea on total weight without the trailer?

That would perfect for a man cave
Frage mich gerade ob man das so in Deutschland auch machen könnte oder ob der TÜV dann rumheult?
What is the size of the actual trailer?
How much does it weighs?
Looks nice - buts it’s just a box with only a bed?
Very good!!!
looks like the pics were a little out of sequence. Why that artificial floor? why the gap? also another question for anyone that wants to answer, on these "tiny homes" (trailers), why not steel studs? aren't they lighter?
Ya I had some trouble with uploading the pics. The fake floor is more durable and the gap is so I can sit up and its where my dog sleeps
And metals studs would have been a good idea
+Alex Alderton thanks for reply. may I ask 1 more question? that thing can be legally towed anywhere? any restrictions on that?
it looks real nice by the way. good job!
kthcsh I have towed it around Missouri and Arkansas with any issues. But my plan is to get it registered as a homemade trailer
@@anninriverside755 , your a nitemare, bet your single
i would call that the dog house no offence it cute
What is the weight of this camper?
How tall is it in the middle?
5'2"
What are the outside dimensions?
Would have been nice to see it on the truck bed itself instead of a trailer which needs registration and plates
You can register trailers as handmade through the DMV.
How much do you charge?
much too expensive! We made a similair one but it only costed us about $1700 including trailer, and we made it not as heavy
Can you share some details? I have a 5x8 and I want to use metal 2x4s
So did you weigh it?
JPVegh not yet
How MUCH?
That's it ? I wanted to see the finished product , a good inside view with some details. it's a very good built but poorly presented .
Very nice but the video is confusing, pictures seem random, not in complete order.
Hey I was wondering How mch did it cost you total for the whole build???
Amber Petras around 3000$ with out the bed
No waterproofing that I can see, waferboard flooring that'll swell in the first rain, WAY too much wood for a tiny trailer, and 120 wiring...put that thing on blocks in the back yard, and start over.
Tiny house/ice house
You could have built that to slide into your truck.
Ya i thought about it but i wanted the extra storage of my bed and wanted the convenience of just getting off work and just hooking it up with all my gear in it ready to go.
that is sooooooooooooo quite.
Bad music....Great house...
god that music gets annoying looping so many times jebus man... otherwise nice lil build but order of pictures?
That was the longest almost 7 minute video ever! Wtf!
Looks to heavy for that little trailer
Thought the same thing. Lots of full sized heavy material when into this thing. Plus the way he extended the chassis looks very chintzy
This house looks like a dog's home
nice bed on wheels. aerodynamic? blah! just for smart people
You need to get rid of the music
I be careful to call a tiny house because the the government may come with the tiny mortgage just name it a place to live
No concept of weight whatsoever!
Not impressed, if you wanted a bed on wheels .....just buy a panel van
David Osborne exactly what i thought
I thought of that option too, there are pros and cons with both, one major pro with using a trailer instead of a van is that if the van breaks down you can just get another van and won't need to rebuild the camper portion. a van has a lot more mechanical parts to break down over the trailer.

Music sucks. Some order to your pictures would have been good too.
I had to stop half way. If you can't put the pictures in some kind of order- DON'T BOTHER POSTING THE BUILD!!
