Had same issue a few winters ago. Bought some THICK pipe insulation - wrapped - fixed problem. Now have a new boiler, Viessmann, no outside pipe. Relaxing!
Would it not be a good idea to bring the pipe work up to current standards ? surely if you leave it like you have it will just freeze again. also there is a 40mm waste pipe right next to it you could tee in to that.
Surprised to see that condensate pipe doesn't run down the wall to ground level. Isn't there a danger that short pipe could lead to damp penetration through the wall?

I had a frozen condensate pipe years ago. .luckily a fairly easy solution, but worse by the regulation conduit which had to be removed

Depends what the owner wants to do. We can only advise.

My thoughts exactly
From what ive been told it use to do just that. But was damaged and not replaced as of yet.
My pipe is a 15m which is a right angle that turns back to the wall, so I
can’t see into it.
Ive now run it down into the drain and added outside lagging. Neat tidy job.
@@jonlen100 ive seen some run under floor boards and into waste pipe.
is the green stuff on the pipes bad or dangerous and why does it occur?
Its just condensation and the pipe takes it away from the boiler. Never normally an issue if well insulated unlike this one.
@@darrensdiy4769 Can it spread covid?
should i wear a mask?
Should be melted now
EA is no flame detected..not just condensate blockage.
Yep could be a few issues that brings this fault up to be fair. But all good here and boiler working fine after clearing frozen pipe.
