As a female, I'm in NO WAY defending sexual predatory behavior and assault, but we should also remember that not EVERY woman crying sexual misconduct or rape is telling the truth.
KLM Hooked Moore A toxic environment at work is created for a woman when she has sex with anyone at work and if it doesn't work out and then that person moves on to the next victim. She will be embarrassed and that's toxic then she will either suffer or quit because she's hurt. Any man that truly cares about a woman would never do that to her at work. Only a sexual predator would be so cruel to women. That makes Tavis a sexual predator creating a toxic environment for the women he uses. Especially since Tavis is so concerned about women's issues and he's so emotional, Lol. Tavis really talks some smooth BS if you don't care about women at work. Tavis is just PUA simp predator.
Jeff Berlin....It's as though you're saying that every sexual encounter has a man as hunter/woman as prey dynamic. It takes two to tango and it's not always the man that initiates. If a sexual encounter doesn't lead to a long term relationship, how on earth does that automatically make the woman a victim? If she's somehow embarrassed afterwards, because of a decision SHE made, how does that automatically make the man a predator? Is it a mistake to have sex with a co-worker? A majority of the time, absolutely. However, it's a mistake that involves 2 adults who each have to live with whatever the consequences are for the decision he or she made.
KLM Hooked Moore Not yours, that comment was meant for Jeff Berlin. I mistakenly erased his name from the front of the comment. I'll fix that now. Sorry bout that. It's is a relevant comment, I promise. I happen to agree with everything you said.
Don't know this guy Smiley, but I have to say: An investigation about Sexual Harassment with no names and no allegations should be treated as LESS THAN gossip.
That's Tavis' spin, but common sense tells you that of course if you ask them to go with you they are, after all your the boss. They want to keep their job. I can't believe that Tavis is that naive.
thats stupid. many married people have met their spouses in the workplace. I think abuse of power is one thing (asking sexual favours for promotion) but many of the women here agree the relations were consensual. the bar for sexual harassment has drop so low as a male i wouldn't even tell my female coworker she dress well for fear of being accused of harassment
And was your first 'date' with her a quickie in your office? If not, then this is something very different. "Dating" someone in an attempt to start a relationship is something very different from fucking your secretary.
my big problem here also is many of his accusers said they had consensual relationships with the man and only called harassment after things didn't work out. Having a bad date ,sex or relationship doesnt mean you got raped or sexually harassed. I
My message to Men: If you have to work in a place where there are a lot of women and women are in managerial positions, my advice is to avoid them at all costs. If you have to work directly with them, keep it professional and business related. Don't joke with them, don't go out to lunch with them, don't even sit near them if you don't have to. It is time for men to survive now. there is a assault on men right now in this country and men have to adopt better strategies to survive.
99.9% of men are not under threat. Those men who use their political, social and economic power to force sexual encounters with people are on watch. Don't be a MRA clown.
tom11zz884 I think we men can survive without going into a panic, thank you. It’s about time men got a wake-up call - I don’t like the lingering casual sexism that’s still out there. I wouldn’t want my sisters, nieces or female friends talked about or ogled in the way I’ve seen here and there - the fact that some men are now getting into well-deserved trouble for past behavior makes me think “Good”. Do some women make up accusations, and lie? Yes, of course they do. Does that mean we automatically ignore and discredit any such claim? No, of course not. Any and every such claim must be looked at in its own merits, and investigated - unfortunate for the accused, of either gender, but understandable and necessary for the majority of claims which turn out to be true. I spend a lot of time editing court copy about Men abusing women, and other men - it’s a rarity that women are sexual abusers or predators, although of course they can be and are, too. But this “Look out, Men!” narrative is silly, and this “Don’t trust women!” narrative that some people are trying to peddle is odious. Let the facts emerge, the investigations run, and an end to sexual abuse and misconduct come closer. That’s what any genuine man - or woman - wants.
An assault on men? How might that be in your mind tom11zz884? Women seeking to stand up for their rights is an "assault on men?" I think not. Standing up for ones rights is never an assault! No man exercising his rights is ever stigmatized as "assaulting" women. Let's be clear -- a man who rabs a women's genitals because he feels he is entitled to do so because of his economic status, Trump's admission -- is engaging in assault IMHO!
@seriously154 companies vary rarely investigate ,they react. same as universities. Its become easier to terminate someone just to save face than to find out the truth. Even in cases where its found out women have lied many times the guys dont get their jobs back or any compensation.
Someone has finally been accused who can articulate an alternate point of view. Tavis is someone who is confident in his history and reputation as a person and he is not going to be defined by anyone but himself.
He stands to lose everything right now. The thing with these types of allegations one can never escapes them even if later on you have been proven innocent.
M White, another blk man down. If you go back in retrospect every black man I repeat every black man has ever made a difference in trying to move forward have been KILLED or been scrutinized, not playing the race card. However, Tavis keep holding on & standing ground God is going to get the glory regardless. I see why HELL has enlarged & believe me when I say EVERYONE gets a TURN. Don them FOLK have you right where they want you. I hv no respect for you. What ever happened to AM I MY BRO’S KEEPER!! Bunch of sell outs!!✌️
It was bound to happen eventually. This Me too thing was good at first, but now it is simply women claiming something and a man's life and career is gone. That is not empowering. One day, men activists will form their own groups about either false allegations and sexual abuse from the hands of females. I really want to see Me too is going to react that.
Jester Avrgjoe But from my I understanding his employees were approached by the authorities and were asked certain questions which could possibly put Tavis in a bad light.
+Jester Avrgjoe Do YOU know what you're talking about? Tavis wasnt an employee of a corporation, he owned his production company. PBS had no place "investigating" his personal life. How does who the guy CONSENSUALLY has sex with, have anything to do with the show he produces for PBS??
@coptic777 i completely agree. what happens if you take a female intern to a lunch meeting for work related issues and a year later she doesn't get a promotion. she can say you tried to seduce her. Most ppl will automatically assume just because you had lunch with her your a predator. As a male manager you dont have to worry about that with men.Lets no even consider business trips.
Very well stated Tavis. He's knocking out the credibility of the accusations one punch at a time. I'm so happy that he is fighting this tooth and nail. Someone has to draw the line and he's doing an excellent job.
K Jackson Yeah well said Tavis. When any man has sex with a woman he works with and then it doesn't work out that woman is embarrassed and hurt when he moves on to the next victim. A man wouldn't do that to a woman he cared about not at work. That creates a toxic work environment for her and she will either suffer or quit. So if and emotional man like Tavis that says he respects women does women like that he's just a smooth talking predator. Yeah well said Tavis. So what's your excuses K Jackson are you a fellow predator or don't you think that women have feelings. How's that for drawing the line ??
Jeff Berlin, your statement makes it seem like men have control over women in those relationships instead of it being two adults who for whatever reason could not continue their relationship. I agree it could create a toxic work environment, but what if it's the woman that broke off the relationship? How do we know he is the one that ended the relationships? That is a huge logical leap that we have no proof of.
Marcus A The exact details or games that occurred in the affair doesn't change the toxic environment for the women. And I'm not going to get into all the ways that female's can be preyed on in work place like that. Like do the males draw straws on who gets first go at the fresh meat. I'm just shooting from the hip here I can keep going. So that's the kind of environment you want your mom, or sister's, daughters and granddaughters to work in ?? A work environment like Tavis has is open season on female's for a bunch of predatory pick up artists. And remember this is supposed to be work. And like you said everything changes if she breaks it off, see now we are playing the game, good idea that will work it will be on her now I got a broken heart wink, wink. Are you getting my drift here and I'm just shooting from the hip like I said. Toxic work environment for the women. And Marcus the best part is we got these women right where we want them because they need the job. Lol. Isn't life great and when we get tired of these girls we'll just hire new one's. Lol.
Wow your the biggest magina simp in the world dude! Didn't you hear Tavis say that MANY people in America meet their significant other at work? This is common sense since your at work more than your not (unless your unemployed). Let's not play dumb. He gave you examples of people finding their mates at work so now Obama, Bill Gates & Henry Kissinger are all predators? But since their relationships worked out than there not predators? You act as if every relationship ends well. Some people break up mutually, some are salty about it THAT'S LIFE!!!!! I personally would not date someone I work with but like Tavis said let's not conflate casual relationships with sexual assault that's where the line gets blurred.
If Tavis Smiley is not guilty of any wrongdoing go and fight for it. Even though he has a consensual relationship with someone in a work place its not counted. Maybe the PBS just want to fire him and get away of indemnity.
um, hello. Did you not hear there was an internal investigation by pbs? Also, Due Process isn't needed in matters where a formal criminal charge isn't being made. If Smiley wants to keep his job, HE'S quite capable of his right to due process to keep it should PBS want to get rid of him. Which most of the targets of these accusations DONT seek. (hmm I wonder why?)
Costa Rica Willy imagine that! But the problem is that liberals wanted to take out Trump by saying he was a sex abuser and instead they shot themselves in the foot. Remember liberals making fun of Secretary of Education Elizabeth Davos for changing the rules in school? Her entire new rule is due process. Yet Democrats demonstrated for days at high schools and harassed Mrs. Davos. All of a sudden, when the shit is hitting them, they want due process. Congratulations Willy. You just sided with Republicans on the due process issue.
Janell Hihi i agree- but his credibility is evident- hopefully he'll have a fair chance t defend hisself- what kinda court condemns w/o presenting a well rounded case?
Bottom line... Don't have sex with your subordinates. If you want to sleep with a coworker, go for it. Hopefully everything turns out well. Boss/employee sex, NO!!!! Too risky now. Btw, Tavis Smiley deserves due process.
@coptic777 i think its crazy even consensual relationships now are being called harassment. The bar is falling lowing and lower every year. The irony in this is most women only date men on their level or higher
Why is Don acting like people in the workplace never develop intimate relationships? Weird. And why is he asking how many intimate relationships Tavis had? Inappropriate and very weird.
I believe him, and I believe he is a reasonable man. And now it should be plain for anyone to that it is not wise for everyone to cry wolf at once. Now, please do go away, dear. I trust you not
The bottom line is that if you're going to have a relationship, even if you don't think you should be, you NEED to be careful where you have it at. Because sometimes stories get spun to make it look like you're doing something wrong and you don't even have any idea what's going on. Just got to be really careful because weeding out the good from the bad is like finding a needle in a haystack, usually.
Don Lemon: "How may consensual relationships have you had in the workplace": The attempt to get him to admit some type of guilt by providing Don Lemon with an idea of how many people Tavis has inappropriate relationships with, which other media platforms would have spun to their advantage by putting words in Tavis' mouth. Tavis: "That conflates a sensual relationship with sexual assault, and those two things don't connect.": The clarification that the question is completely irrelevant to the conversation at hand and is merely another tact to get me to admit to a guilt that simply isn't there...and.....I know what the fuck you're trying to do. Tavis handled this interview masterfully, and I hope if, which I genuinely feel he is, telling the truth, the false accusers are punished severely, which they probably won't ever be. PBS doesn't deserve him though even if he is cleared. I hope he never goes back there. For a corporation that prides itself on honest, non-bias, investigative journalism and educational programming, they sure handled this investigation like some cowardly, unethical, witch-hunting, shit heads. One Love, The Stormy Poet
Tavis and any man in power should know better. Relationships with subordinate women should be avoided 100% because it makes women feel like they need to have sex in order to have a career. Even if the relationship was consensual, it is totally unprofessional + puts the idea sex is in the air at work.
You make some good points, in that it's not a good idea for any man and/ or woman in power to get into those types of situations, but I'm not sure that "feeling a need to have sex" to advance ones career should be used as a bargaining chip, for those who actually have consensual sex for those reasons, but to your point, people do it all the time. I'd say just walk away, unless their "down for the deal". That type of deal usually comes back to bite one or the other people involved in one way or another. Also, now days all it takes is an allegation, no matter what the circumstances are. The ball starts rolling pretty easily.
Marx Wade Right exactly all is needed is an allegation. I hope men are careful and just stay faithful to wives at home. I know Tavis is single but he should find love elsewhere
This guy doesn't know how an investigation works. He thinks they should release all information that investigators have found regarding accusers so he can smear them. Huh? That's just plain stupid. Due process? Presumption of innocence? Does he think he's in a courtroom? There are MANY legitimate reasons why someone in a position of power in a company/business should not be involved in a sexual relationship with subordinates. If you don't understand or don't agree, too bad.
Tavis Smiley was 100% correct here. Millions, maybe tens of millions of men and women have had legitimate, consensual relationships with other people who just happened to be their coworkers. Many people have met their spouses throughout the course of the professional career. This is not criminal behavior and is not sexual misconduct. This is an extremely slippery slope.
He was sleeping with his employees and the ones he slept with got promoted and the ones he didn't did not. That's what it sounds like. He can't get mad at anyone but himself. Wtf are you sleeping with your employees? And then he refuse to name how many he slept with means he slept with a lot of people in my opinion.
Negative, I am not a DL fan but I think that DL conducted this interview very objectively. Tavis knows that as a president or CEO of a company that you cannot "mess" with subordinates. His argument about other people who have met their spouses at work is lame, because unlike him, whom he was just fucking his subordinates, the people he referenced, MARRIED them
I believe both Smiley and his accusers on the fact that he slept with his some of his employees. Is is sexual harassment? No. He shouldn't have his show suspended for this. In this incident, it's gone too far
This is just STUPID! So what about the thousands of marriages and families that came to be because of a work place relationship. You can't tell people who to date. Sorry but If all of Tavis relationships were consenctual then he's 100% right. This is getting Crazy
Tavis, how would you feel if your boss was sleeping with everyone and that had everything to do with your promotions and demotions. And please Never mention Public Shaming that's been your job for all of these years.
Alonso or should I call you Tavis? You talk a lot like him by just running your mouth in self defense. Again. Tavis could not answer Don Lemmon's question so he should be quiet. He wanted to use the platform to clear his name but what's that old saying.. "what's done in the dark?" You see Russell Simmons immediately just shut his mouth but Tavis being the narcisstic person he is, simply thinks he can fool everyone. Well Don Lemmon isn't hearing it and neither will millions of others believe Tavis. And this is Tavis first time hearing of these allegations. Really, Tavis? Wow.
I have to admit that being the owner of the company or having a high position within a company while having sexual relationships with your subordinates is not wrong but inappropriate as it can present a conflict of interest. Notice my words, CAN present a conflict of interest. However, this does not equate to sexual misconduct. First of all, most of these women are grown women and they know what their integrity is worth even in the midst of coercion. My integrity is worth more than having a job so they all must know what they were doing before they did it. It's very ludicrous to start finding people guilty on the basis of just accusation. I think there is some conspiracy at work against Tavis as he did not deny any of his encounters. Again, having relationships in a company you own with subordinates do not equate to sexual misconduct and think that's where they got it wrong. I lean more towards Tavis story.
I know he is a religious narcissist, however, we will have to see the results of court hearing on this sexual assault matter rather than speculation. And don't read that wrongly, I encourage victims to step forward to report anyone who messed with victims. If he is found guilty, then he will dine on spit soup as is common for protective custody inmates. If anyone falsely accuses someone, then the accuser should be sentenced to the maximum.
But this isn't a court matter unless 1.) criminal charges of sexual assault are filed or 2.) Smiley seeks to sue PBS to keep his job if PBS decides to fire him. And if PBS does fire him, ya better believe they believe they have good enough evidence to defend themselves in court.
Harlem Night when a guy owns a business life will go a lot easier if he leaves the help alone and keeps business all business. All you gotta do is up your game a little bit and find what you want after your done with business. Actually you said it get out more then you don't have to bang the help.
You have to be a under age boy to do stuff like that Tavis. We all know how women like school age boys. I could file harassment against ugly women all day.
The irony here is most women only date men on their level or above. So i always find it amazing when the same people complain well he had a superior position so im automatically a victim. Its one thing when a manager abuses power but when we are at a stage where a consensual relationship is automatically harassment simply because of title i think it shows how little responsibility women have for their actions.
I think Smiley is a stand up guy! Total respect! I've said it once I'll say it again, who HATES the press? The man occupying OUR oval office!! Y'all newscasters need to wake up! Too many careers are being destroyed and Tavis is the only one standing up to this!!
I'm still trying to understand if it's consensual how is it misconduct? He's single and the workers are adults who made their mind up to have sex with him. He just mentioned his office does have a policy against being in a relationship in the workplace.
+Jester Avrgjoe .. this is why women should not be in the workplace with men at all. this silly experiment started in the 70s, and just caused everyone's income to go down, and the destruction of the family unit
Tavis handled himself well underfire.. He was honest and forthright in his statements and answers. I applaud Tacos for his courage to defend himself in the midst of ravenous wolves...
mizzmolly, did you not watch the video? Tavis clearly said that PBS never told him specifically what the allegations were and never revealed to him the name(s) of his accuser(s).
mizzmolly, you posted that link as if it showed PBS revealing what the allegations specifically are. PBS hasn't revealed the allegations nor have they revealed the names of the people making the allegations. Tavis Smiley doesn't have the information and we do not have the information.
mizzmolly, that is certainly what he ackowledged but he has stated that PBS has not told him specifically why he was suspended. It wasn't a smart decision for him to ackowledge that being that PBS hasn't been specific with anything to him or the public. This is why people should allow their lawyers to speak publically.
This all sounds a little fishy to me. Tavis has his own company. He decided to have relationships with subordinates at his own company. The programs he creates at his own company are shown on another company (PBS). Where do PBS and their "policies" come into play? Sounds like they were just looking for an excuse. The tone of their statement says it all.
Garry G I hated Moore. But its key fact that he was accused, not convicted. But CNN is the last place you want to go, since their creditability is in the toilet now.
Garry G Well I guess you don't care about facts either. Moore was accused. That's it. No solid evidences was provided. Simply allegations. Never convicted. Now speaking of Republicans, even Republicans were cautious around Moore, if Moore won, they were going to launch a investigation on him.
Garry G Again no evidences. In fact that mall thing got debunked by the mall manager. Do your research, please. Either way this guy right here has a better chance at ABC than CNN.
The owner of the mall said Moore was never banned. Never in the last 40 years have any of these allegations ever been reported on, even though we are told that "every one knew it". Never in the last 40 years have any of Moore's political opponents brought any of these allegations in a campaign, We do know the "evidence" against Moore was fabricated because that has been admitted. We also now clearly know the regressive left doesn't believe in due process. We have clearly learned that there is no principle that the left wont throw under the bus out of political expediency. And, oh yes, good luck winning back the trust of the south, they know the left hates them.
Fraud, Trump won 38% margin, no way is it possible all the repubs in the most repub state bought into the obvious swindle and last minute lies. You know the forged year book. Shame on demonrats. They used to be sympathetic reasonable citizens, now they are nits on every issue.
Peter Maslow No one knows what the allegations are, including Smiley and Don, as they’ve said many times. They didn’t say it was sex, they said it was “misconduct.” Also, having sex with someone isn’t guilt, it’s whether it was consensual or not - which we don’t know since we don’t know the allegations.
Right or wrong Tavis, this is still poor judgement. Just for the mere fact that it has put you in a position where you have to explain or defend your actions. Now you are having to clean it up in order to protect your livelihood. Right or wrong, was it worth it?
I don't believe it because he the accusations don't sound like rape or harassment or groping! He is being persecuted for being a man who like to get laid, what's wrong with that, we all know people hook up in corporate settings, but he's being falsely accused and I'm pissed at PBS for not allowing the investigation to be competed! Al Franken was railroaded too. I'm a female who has been through REAL abuse (sorry if that offends anyone who felt raped after their ass got grabbed), where a police report was filed and jail time was actually served! This is suspect as hell!
I am all for justice! Although many men are guilty of sexual abuse in the workplace, all are not. But, of this I am certain. There are many people who hold grudges against others and this new thing about "I was sexually harrassed" even if the complainer wasn't, will be the headline news of the future. I daresay, not all will be truthful. In some instances, it can be easily proven that the person blamed is guilty, but one cannot simply assume and tar and feather without the needed proof. Tavis Smiley is taking the correct steps to try and prove his innocence. The outcome is yet to be known.....
Rayne Ryan I do agree, as the sudden outbreak of sexual misconduct allegations is really abundant now. But sometimes when you're asked questions and you don't answer them, it's sometimes the things that you're NOT saying that can reveal the truth.
tavis has his OWN definition of sexual abuse. Of course he knows who he has messed with- & only want to answer to what he want to. Get real tavis- u have been caught w/your "pants down" & now u want some sympathy- Forget it!!!!!!!
Another alt-right dummy who's life is based on left vs right lol. This is not about politics idiot it's about sexual harassment vs consensual relationships
Ethan M you just made your ass looked dumb as hell. You just decided because of his race he must be a liberal. That is how dumb the conservatives are they don't know how to research and tell the truth. They only have to curve the news to support or discourage to fit they narrative.Which in the real world makes them look like an ass.Which just happened to you.Lol😂😂😂
First of all, in my humble opinion the problem is with society allowing WOMEN to play the VICTIM card even when they are NOT. I have seen this ALL OF MY LIFE. JUST AS people play the RACE , SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RELIGION AND ETHNICITY CARDS when it can/ will benefit them or their cause. Isn’t it a crime NOT to REPORT A CRIME? If a crime have been committed against WOMEN or ANYONE; if they do not report it. 1. They should have to PROVE ALLEGATIONS especially YEARS later 2. NOT be allowed to SUE, EXTORT and/or Profit in ANY WAY years later, 3. Just destroy people’s career and reputations....... maybe the woman is jilted, fired, a racist, bipolar, rep or dem, etc......I know, I know .....people with a VICTIM MENTALITY AND THEIR ATTORNEYS will say SHE WAS SCARED. BULLSHIST. IF A CRIME HAS BEEN COMMITTED ..YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO REPORT IT FOR YOUR SAFETY AND OTHERS. BUT, NO ONE WILL SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THIS BECAUSE......A VICTIM MINDSET ....IS A WOMANS CARD!!!!!!! To pull out at ANY GIVEN TIME, FOR ANY REASON, MOTIVE. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!! Nothing new under the Sun. Wake up!!!!!
Lydia Thornton I agree, but unfortunately you have some people who feel they have no rights, use them when they CHOOSE to, or just don't care UNTIL the same shit happens to them.
John B aka Smooth Chocolate : I agree with you that’s why the WRITTEN law should always be the STANDARD or at least the go to after the dust settles . Although people will break the law, ignore etc... at least it’s TANGIBLE something we can refer to, look at, and compare and CHANGE if it is unfair.
Lydia Thornton Exactly. Give people proof that their rights are not just words up in the air. In fact, when you look at the word "freedom," the key word in it is "free." Free to express ourselves and free to use what we have.
CNN is LESS than a RUclips channel. Its an old decrepit propaganda cable TV station that spreads lies. A News organization that used a screenshot of Fallout3 hacking system and used it as a Russian Hacking Device to hack US elections lol
CNN is completely politically bias and only shows yellow journalism or something that suits the agenda that pays them. They bash Trump over ice cream and having a drink of water during speeches. Thats how far its fallen and not just CNN but also BBC, Sky, MSNBC etc their all the same. Its an old guard media that is dying and is terrified that more and more people (especially the younger audience) either dont give a crap about war drumming, political smear campaigns or restarting the cold war. Why do you think companies like Facebook & Twitter are bending over backwards for these companies? Free speech is not allowed on these websites anymore because they keep attacking and labeling people nazi's or racists. Where WAY past racism and its nothing like it was back in the previous generations but these companies like CNN want you to believe its still happening, giving the UK, US a bad name. They want you to believe we live in racist countries to stir hatred among communities. Kill off CNN already. Let the world come together. The last thing we need is multi-million companies creating fake propaganda to make people fear and hate each other.
Roger I would agree Russia possibly had some meddling but so did the UK, France, Brussels, Germany, China and possibly North Korea. When we had our EU Referendum in the UK Obama traveled all the way to the UK and said that if you vote to leave we will not be doing trade deals with you. Is that not meddling? Each country will have some meddling in another country, each country has its spy agencies like CIA, MI6 etc. They all hack one & other. Obama was accused of wire-tapping The German Chancellors Main Office, again is that not hacking/meddling? I must admit your choice for presidents werent very good but try to pick the lesser of 2 evils. Hillary would have been bad in fact she wouldnt have been in command at all but her husband. Shes had her hand in every war and country leader assassination in the world. Yeah you can argue and say Trumps done some bad stuff but the guys a straight cut-throat businessman, Hillary is a war-monger and is pure evil. Lets say if Russia DID meddle, why do you think they did it? Because they didnt want WW3 and to restart the cold-war, thats exactly what Hillary wanted. I live in the UK and I really couldnt have given a rats arss but during the 2nd Debate Hillary stated she wanted a No-fly zone in Syria. That would have seriously led to dark times....
The agenda that pays them - Well it depends what the agenda is. If its war in another country then its up to the mainstream media to convince us to go to war and gain public support. For e.g Sadam with his WMD's which ended up being false, Gadaffi one day woke up and decided to murder his own people which again ended up being false. The man just didnt want to trade in the dollar and when you dont play Americas Petro-Dollar game you get politically targeted like made up footage of people being gassed then arming 'rebels' or 'freedom' fighters to wage a proxy war. In essence your funding terrorists to take out government that kills terrorists. You take out those two and then you get ISIS. They tried the same with Assad (exactly the same formula) and thats when Russia stepped in and gave America the finger. If Assad was taken out then thats more land for terrorists and Russia loses an ally. Remember every country has its allies. So who gains from wars do you think? Companies that sell arms, tanks and ammo. THATS what pays CNN, they get a cut because its up to them to convince the public going to war is a 'good' and 'just' cause. Without it every time government wanted to go to war the economy would be at a stand still because they see no need to meddle in another country. So thats your first question answered as detailed as possible. Notice how I dont even insult you or call you a moron. Moron is the only word in your vocabulary it so far seems. Now. as for the Fallout image Fallout series is based on fiction, its a video game. So instead of using a fiction video games hacking system and saying this is how Russia screwed us is confusing because apparently Russia bought ad-space on Facebook to convince the 'whole' population to vote Trump? So how did Russia hack the US poll machines? Was it wireless? Did they break into the buildings and attach a mini laptop to it via USB? Did they do it on mobile phones? Was it on a normal PC. Which software? What operating system? Was it even Windows or Linux? Was it even Red Star? You dont know and neither does CNN but their willing to go so far and pull an image off a video game and say this is how Russia did it. Its low mate. They've been digging and digging this Russia stuff for over 12 months now and Trump is STILL in office. Has it not occurred to you that Russia didnt even need to step in because Hillary wasnt going to win anyway? Would you really vote for more war? Under Trump yes you may get war but war in Russia will be 50x worse than war in North Korea
Mr. Smiley speaks very distinctly and articulately until four minutes and twenty seconds into the interview when he’s asked how many employees he had relations with, then he begins to stammer and stutter, Mr. Smiley, stay off of TV if you do not want to say how many of your under staff you slept with, that is going to kill your case, I’m just saying…
The real problem is tavis is speaking out about the folk in this country not doing very well all colors especially the black folk and the elites wealthy do not like it they want tavis to go away! Thats what this is all about folks! I support tavis smiley!
Meme Cakes No its not but it makes look like he has bad judgement as a leader. The boss shouldn't be sleeping with employees who he outranks. He's not a rapist but he has bad judgement
Tavis makes a great argument and offers a very clear perspective.
Tim Oakley - The direction you took your comment in didn't really have anything to do with my original statement.
KLM Hooked Moore Not yours, that comment was meant for Jeff Berlin. I mistakenly erased his name from the front of the comment. I'll fix that now. Sorry bout that. It's is a relevant comment, I promise. I happen to agree with everything you said.
Tim Oakley - No problem👍
Don't know this guy Smiley, but I have to say: An investigation about Sexual Harassment with no names and no allegations should be treated as LESS THAN gossip.
That's Tavis' spin, but common sense tells you that of course if you ask them to go with you they are, after all your the boss. They want to keep their job. I can't believe that Tavis is that naive.
@@mr72rosalind so a CONSENSUAL situation is his fault Bc the woman may feel obligated even though he never said “come home with me or you’re fired?”
When ur the boss of a company u don't sleep around with ' the help '.
thats stupid. many married people have met their spouses in the workplace. I think abuse of power is one thing (asking sexual favours for promotion) but many of the women here agree the relations were consensual. the bar for sexual harassment has drop so low as a male i wouldn't even tell my female coworker she dress well for fear of being accused of harassment
another example of neoconservatives taking a position on civil rights after turning it to destroy it’s proponents
I’m with Travis on this, I met my wife at work 6 years ago. I’m glad he’s fighting back.
And was your first 'date' with her a quickie in your office? If not, then this is something very different. "Dating" someone in an attempt to start a relationship is something very different from fucking your secretary.
This is the problem with this me too thing. Accusations with no evidences can derail a unwitting man's life.
Speak up if it happened to you. To hell with his career
my big problem here also is many of his accusers said they had consensual relationships with the man and only called harassment after things didn't work out. Having a bad date ,sex or relationship doesnt mean you got raped or sexually harassed. I
My message to Men:
If you have to work in a place where there are a lot of women and women are in managerial positions, my advice is to avoid them at all costs.
C B Oh yeah. Because we men are under such threat to the status quo.
M White
Totally agree.
M White MAKE IT PLAIN
I believe him damn it's a shame how they doing sum of these men
Yes It Is!!!... And Mj Put Up With These Lies About Him ...It Destroyed Him!!!
Ummm black men were the only ones going to jail for this shit all the Yt ones are getting off.
If he slept with employees that's not a crime but very counterproductive pbs should have handled it privately he earned that at least
Jester Avrgjoe agree
Jester Avrgjoe But from my I understanding his employees were approached by the authorities and were asked certain questions which could possibly put Tavis in a bad light.
+Jester Avrgjoe Do YOU know what you're talking about? Tavis wasnt an employee of a corporation, he owned his production company. PBS had no place "investigating" his personal life. How does who the guy CONSENSUALLY has sex with, have anything to do with the show he produces for PBS??
Agreed, Tavis is one of the best figures in the media I know of, he deserves that at least.
FACTS!!!!!!
Keep fighting Tavis to protect your reputation... A GREAT reputation I may add. Good luck bro.
If Tavis Smiley is not guilty of any wrongdoing go and fight for it. Even though he has a consensual relationship with someone in a work place its not counted. Maybe the PBS just want to fire him and get away of indemnity.
its easier to fire an innocent male that find out the truth.less colateral damage .we see it all the time
I heard a funny quote about office relationships "you do not shit where you eat".
It was not meant to be a funny quote, it is absolute old school common sense saying and it is true.
John Bosco Exactly .... especially when your at the head of the table !
I miss Tavis Smiley, they brought a great man down.
#ADOS and that's why.
We have to stop judging by media and give everyone due process
Now if only Trump could understand due process and stop obstructing justice! Devos got that one right.
WatchMyVideoDude I don't know what state you're in, but schools already have due process.
monica parker thank the Trump Administration. Obama took away the due process.
Democrats are going to regret they began down this road...
Peter Cox yo ass is crazy, ya I said is
Bodywise Solutions it has nothing to do with party unless it's someone running or in office
petercox9 good making it political is just an excuse
A or one now can't answer Don's question. He didn't ask for names.
Travis don’t do anymore interviews- where are your lawyers?
Janell Hihi i agree- but his credibility is evident- hopefully he'll have a fair chance t defend hisself- what kinda court condemns w/o presenting a well rounded case?
Lando Kalerisian Unfortunately the court of public opinion. No due process. Look at Al Franken and Garrison Keillor.
He is reluctant to mention the number of subordinates that he had sexual relationships with. That is a huge red flag.
He's reluctant because it's an ongoing situation.
Thank you for your objectivity.
I believe him, and I believe he is a reasonable man. And now it should be plain for anyone to that it is not wise for everyone to cry wolf at once. Now, please do go away, dear. I trust you not
So a woman seduces him and he hits it, she expects to have a job forever. Years later she is fired for being lazy, so she gets pissed.
One Love,
The Stormy Poet
Tavis Smiley is in denial.
Tavis and any man in power should know better. Relationships with subordinate women should be avoided 100% because it makes women feel like they need to have sex in order to have a career. Even if the relationship was consensual, it is totally unprofessional + puts the idea sex is in the air at work.
Haya Glamazon hell no some women are willing to sleep around why would any man pay a price for sleeping around unless he's raped or groped
well said, I Totally agree. Do you think his guilty?
You make some good points, in that it's not a good idea for any man and/ or woman in power to get into those types of situations, but I'm not sure that "feeling a need to have sex" to advance ones career should be used as a bargaining chip, for those who actually have consensual sex for those reasons, but to your point, people do it all the time. I'd say just walk away, unless their "down for the deal". That type of deal usually comes back to bite one or the other people involved in one way or another. Also, now days all it takes is an allegation, no matter what the circumstances are. The ball starts rolling pretty easily.
Ade Ola I don't think he has raped or forced women into sex but I think he used terrible judgement.
Marx Wade Right exactly all is needed is an allegation. I hope men are careful and just stay faithful to wives at home. I know Tavis is single but he should find love elsewhere
I hope smiley sue the fuck Out of PBS.
In this day and age men should never start a relationship with a coworker.
If she is a woman..yes.
alex seioo MGTOW!!
I don't believe him
They did not shut your show down, YOU suspended it
Tavis Smiley was 100% correct here. Millions, maybe tens of millions of men and women have had legitimate, consensual relationships with other people who just happened to be their coworkers. Many people have met their spouses throughout the course of the professional career. This is not criminal behavior and is not sexual misconduct. This is an extremely slippery slope.
He has a justified lawsuit coming.
Darius Brule I must raise the point that there FLIP/FLOPIN FOLKS out there that FLIP out when they smell Money 💰 🤑 ¥€$!
@Paul Dalnoky why do you say that?
@@charlesgreen632 True
He was sleeping with his employees and the ones he slept with got promoted and the ones he didn't did not. That's what it sounds like. He can't get mad at anyone but himself. Wtf are you sleeping with your employees? And then he refuse to name how many he slept with means he slept with a lot of people in my opinion.
I’d doubt it
Ann'G Yup ... he was Fucking like a rabbit !
Is it me or is Don rushing to judgements and making damning presumptions about Tavis just like PBS?
Negative, I am not a DL fan but I think that DL conducted this interview very objectively. Tavis knows that as a president or CEO of a company that you cannot "mess" with subordinates. His argument about other people who have met their spouses at work is lame, because unlike him, whom he was just fucking his subordinates, the people he referenced, MARRIED them
I MET MY HUSBAND IN THE WORKplace.
I believe both Smiley and his accusers on the fact that he slept with his some of his employees. Is is sexual harassment? No. He shouldn't have his show suspended for this. In this incident, it's gone too far
tyrone james telling someone to cease the behavior is the first step in a case like this.
Aaron L I can agree on that.
tyrone james That the smartest comment I have seen anyone make on this situation involving Tavis.
TAVIS IS FINISHED.....GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR NEXT CAREER...
CAN ANYONE SAY "DEFAMATION LAWSUIT" PLEASE SUE THEM TAVIS!!!!!!!!!
Julie Chen will not be saying a word about this on the Talk, I take it...
hahahahhaha
PBS going to lose a lot of money. They've already lost me as a viewer.
jfsfrnd That's where he worked.
Same here Alex. Screw pbs
jfsfrnd Oh I was a big fan. I won't deal with them now!!
Happy Birthday to Tavis.9-13-64.
PBS went OFF in that statement damn!
Wow.
I can't stand Tavis' politics but I do not believe for one second the allegations against him.
Greedy never get your meat and your bread from the same place
Daren Holloway I want that on a t-shirt 😂
Daren Holloway why not? or how come? Your statement makes no sense to me.
Because a butcher can't bake.
Oh my god so true. Award winning statement. Yes don't get your meat, and bread at the same place.
It is like the USA is slowly figuring out the concept of "due process"...
I'll tell you what does not matter.. You opinion.
And if PBS does fire him, ya better believe they believe they have good enough evidence to defend themselves in court.
he sounds very believable
Keitumetse M This man always sounds believable even when he is telling half truths. It is his gift.
Tavis actually thinks it's ok to have sex with the employees as long as they consent wink, wink. You have to be kidding me.
yeah it's pretty normal actually.
Dude, you need to get out more
Harlem Night when a guy owns a business life will go a lot easier if he leaves the help alone and keeps business all business. All you gotta do is up your game a little bit and find what you want after your done with business. Actually you said it get out more then you don't have to bang the help.
craig rankine I do and I wouldn't dream of banging the help.
People shouldn't have sex with their employees but if they do its not a crime as long as it's consensual.
Tavis sit and spin. Find dates outside of your own corporation.
bluetextbooks try spell check
Damn. People stop having sex with co-workers.
they're not co-workers...
You have to be a under age boy to do stuff like that Tavis. We all know how women like school age boys. I could file harassment against ugly women all day.
Soon as he started talking about trump...
Subordinates are not "colleagues"! They are "employees"!!!
Cindy Christian Hi Cindy. I'm John and I wanted to wish you a Happy new year and it's great to meet you. I agree with you too.
Sex and subordinate and higher-ups EQUALS BIG PROBLEMS....when someone works at a less powerful job they are not colleagues and consent is Not equal
Time will tell.
I believe Tavis his story is still the same.
Brother is gonna work it out!!!! P E
I think Smiley is a stand up guy! Total respect! I've said it once I'll say it again, who HATES the press? The man occupying OUR oval office!! Y'all newscasters need to wake up! Too many careers are being destroyed and Tavis is the only one standing up to this!!
Billy graham was never accused.... you get it? Just saying
He admitted that he was a playa. Thats not against the law.
MMA HEARTBEAT Nor should it be firable. Big difference between consensual and sexual misconduct or abuse.
MMA HEARTBEAT no he admitted that he was a predator. Doing employees isn't playing.
YOU SHOULD NOT BE DATING, IN A RELATIONSHIP OR SLEEPING WITH YOUR CO-WORKERS OR SUBORDINATES. YOU DON'T MIX BUSINESS WITH PLEASURE.
So.... he lost his show because of an allegation.... that no one knows if it is true or not....
He also served the point that it is not a WRITTEN ON THE BOOKS!
mizzmolly, did you not watch the video?
Why go on CNN?
Based on your recent news CNN, isn't allegations are enough?
dollybatam
No!
The system is taking down a lot of black men recently including Don Lemon
Were the accusers men?
He definitely should have been shown proof.
He claims to be ignorant of the allegations when Don read the allegations to his face. Did he have sex or not? Yes, he did. Get the hell out of here.
Peter Maslow
Don is not the investigator, he's a talk show host. He's just pushing for rating. Only a fool would answer that without a Lawyer present.
Don Lemons lipstick is overapplied on the top lip
Right or wrong Tavis, this is still poor judgement. Just for the mere fact that it has put you in a position where you have to explain or defend your actions. Now you are having to clean it up in order to protect your livelihood. Right or wrong, was it worth it?
If my memory serves me Mr. Smiley lost the case and was ordered to pay PBS 2.4 million
Its hard for these kinds of people to understand the words inappropriate or appropriate. Crossing the line is is not good also...
Larry 306 THAT would be true if it was handled across the board. Crossing the line has worked for 45 before he was 45
tavis has his OWN definition of sexual abuse. Of course he knows who he has messed with- & only want to answer to what he want to. Get real tavis- u have been caught w/your "pants down" & now u want some sympathy- Forget it!!!!!!!
Luebla Blacknell idiots like u scare me. After watching this interview is this what I took away?
Larry 306
What was done that you consider crossing the line? Exactly, don't assume anything if you don't have any details.
Liberal Dem got a taste of his own medicine
He's not a liberal dem you jackass
Another alt-right dummy who's life is based on left vs right lol.
This is not about politics idiot it's about sexual harassment vs consensual relationships
Ethan M You Norton are a mental case!!
For the record he was not a fan of Barack Obama.
Good job Tavis
Complete agree with Tavis and hope he sues the fuck out of them.
its hilarious when normal youtube bloggers pull in more viewers in a single hour than CNN lol
You do realize that CNN is more than a youtube channel, right?
The agenda that pays them -
Well it depends what the agenda is.
FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!!!!!!
He dated women in his company. The women felt that their job was on the line while dating him. He is guilty of poor judgement but not sexual predator.
This investigation was not done properly. He being pre-judged.
@10:15 Great comment
"sometimes, things jump off" 😂
The real problem is tavis is speaking out about the folk in this country not doing very well all colors especially the black folk and the elites wealthy do not like it they want tavis to go away! Thats what this is all about folks! I support tavis smiley!
You know this is against the subject but what happens when the president send you policies preferring to solutions and they never get answered
He doesn't understand how power works.
If he could say I had 3 relationships with employees is different than saying 15. Three we shrug our shoulders; ifteen it's our eyebrows.
In the GMA interview, he did pause when asked if anyone who he slept with is still working there. In summary, he's a womaniser.
Haya Glamazon that's not illegal tho
Meme Cakes No its not but it makes look like he has bad judgement as a leader. The boss shouldn't be sleeping with employees who he outranks. He's not a rapist but he has bad judgement
Jog James Go tell that to PBS and Tavis who they have on his knees.
PBS will be on their knees when he sues them for millions. lol
Pausing in an interview equates to womanizer? Your logic is nonexistent.
This is America!
Consensual is NOT improper behavior.
