Never seen the media so concerned about the back up qb position before smh. Its disrespectful to Mike Tomlin how they keep saying what he should do. Every team had a chance to trade for Fields and no one jumped , only when Pickett wanted out they went after him. If you listen to the media you would think Fields was Pittsburgh first option.

    • @cr2lives
      @cr2lives 12 дней назад +7

Pittsburgh was Justin Fields' first option, in large part due to wanting to be coached by Mike Tomlin. He told the Bears GM this. The Bears received other offers for Justin Fields, but they considered Justin's desires as a way to make up for fumbling the situation with him. Justin was just interviewed, and he said he didn't think he'd have a chance to go to Pittsburgh with Russell being picked up and Kenny still in the building. Once Kenny said he wanted out, the Steelers traded to get rid of him and acquire Justin. Now Justin has a dream scenario in which he has both the coach he wants to play for and the QB he sees as a mentor.

Yes it has , significantly lmao
Literally watch any single game over the last four years. I know everyone has the blind love/hope because he’s on your team now but let me assure you, I watched every single second of every single game over the last two years. He is terrible, he can’t read a defense to save his life, he can’t throw over the middle, he doesn’t throw open receivers, he plays hero ball way too much, takes 40+ sacks a year because of it , no matter the team.
Your game will be nothing but check downs and runs up the middle, with shitty attempts from RW the whole time. You will be screaming at him by week 3.
No one magically gets better on their third team, no one suddenly learns how to not hold onto the ball way too long because it’s what he’s been doing his whole career. He LITERALLY can’t read a defense if his life depended on it, worst audibles in the history of NFL.
All of that plus the fact he NEVER takes accountability and nothing is never anyone’s fault, is why he continues to lose players and coaches alike.
Don’t say we didn’t warn yall….sincerely all Seahawks and all Broncos fans.

    • @DeCurtaRican
      @DeCurtaRican 6 дней назад

Thank you! Why are the media promoting false narratives? They’re attacking Russ on code as if they’re being paid to do it. That is disturbing.
I cannot say this for sure, but now all of these media attacks on Russ are creating the appearance that somebody influential/powerful wants Russ out of the league and is pulling media strings to make it happen.
Is that the case? Maybe, maybe not, but it sizzles and smells like bacon up in here.
If such an orchestrated effort existed, I wouldn’t know who is doing it, and I am not sure why, but I could formulate a tenable theory.
Ask yourselves how this many talking heads can be on code like this, gaslighting the public about an athlete who is still very clearly a top QB and advocating so hard for a QB who two months ago was completely unwanted at the bargain price of a #4 pick!
Now, they believe he can displace a HoF-caliber QB.
What I CAN tell you is that it’s no accident that so much media has turned on him. Two years ago, you could believe it was about his play and the one-sided stories that had come out.
But the fact that he had a decent season in Denver, appeared at Pete Carroll’s retirement party and had a good time with former teammates, and is no longer in Denver should’ve quieted the noise, but it’s not!
They are after something, and the only thing it could be is to ruin him completely. What motive would the media have to do this, and why so many media members?
Russ hasn’t committed any crimes, cheated his sport, disrespected any coaches or teammates, or done anything unsportsmanlike.
Even if he has or had a big ego, he isn’t the first QB to have that. And look at the way Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are being treated compared to Russ and Ciara!
This all reeks of something more than blanket dislike…something hidden…but without more evidence we can’t be sure.

NOTE: As you can see, Fields has a slight advantage in rushing. Russ is superior in every other department. While both take a lot of sacks, Russ has taken them due to bad/inconsistent O-Lines and pure stubbornness on his part.
Fields takes them because he can’t read the field!

*Keep in mind that Russ’s career statistics include two subpar years in Denver in which both years skewed Russ’s stats downward.*
If we were to discount Russ’s Denver years, Russ’s 3-year average stats would be that much better than Fields’s, and that would include two injury years in Seattle (2016 and 2021) that produced outlier statistics.

I think Russ starts but folks are truly sleep in how instrumental development of a young QB really is and it’s evident early in that Field wasn’t getting what he needed as far as development in Chicago don’t believe it go look at what’s going on with Caleb right now. This is a great situation for him an organization that’s some stability and a proven track record in the development department.

Is this really about the genuine belief that Fields is truly a better QB or does this boil down to disliking Russell Wilson? Russell is objectively the better QB. The numbers back that up. His statistically worst season is almost identical to Justin's BEST season. Russell has invaluable experience. Been to 2 Superbowls and won 1. I just wanna know how people can be so confident that he's taking over because Russ will be so bad? And then some ppl are saying if Russell doesn't play lights out, Justin will take over. How are you all so sure that he'll play better than Russell? Because the facts and the history don't support those claims. The only realistic way Fields becomes QB1 is injury occurs that Wilson can't play through.

People have to keep in mind that Pittsburgh traded a conditional 6th round pick for Fields that upgrades to a 4th rounder based on playing time. On that fact alone, Wilson will be the starter, until he unceremoniously gets benched like Trubisky did, or at least until enough games have gone by, as to where the Steelers can keep the compensation for Fields as a 6th pick. They'll groom Fields and offer him a contract, and I bet Wilson is gone next season.

All the Steeler podcasts have gone immediately to the Wilson vs.Fields topic because that discussion will garner excitement, division, and drama, which does make cash. I haven't seen a Steelers' podcast yet that breaks down both Wilson's and Field's last two years of QB tape. That would clearly show why both were discarded and available at such a low value. That, to me, isn't being completely transparent for the shake of selling either hope for cash or to sow emotional division for profit.

JF wanted Pittsburgh before Russ signed there, when he thought his competition would be Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph.😏The Bears only saw Pittsburgh as a good trade destination AFTER Russ signed there. There’s a reason for that, and it isn’t because the Bears were trying to do JF a solid. The Bears did what was best for the Bears. Now, with Caleb coming in, what’s good for the Bears? JF being on the bench!

Russ will be #1 to start the season. Hee performed well last season and he's deserving of that. With that being said, at any moment Russ starts to decline, Justin will be ready. Steelers have a weapon in Justin, and if they utilize him down the stretch and win games, I can see them making a real run into the playoffs. Not to mention that defense backing them up and keeping them in games.

Hasselbeck sounds absolutely stupid! Fields may be competing with Russ, but Russ is competing with himself.
Fields’s mindset is exciting but it won’t make him a starter. He wasn’t planning on completing with Russ. He thought his competition would be Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph. He’s nowhere near Russ’s level as a passer, nor does he play as well in the clutch.
Knowing this, the Bears only became interested in sending Fields to Pittsburgh AFTER Russ signed there because they knew he would wind up on the bench, which is where they want and need him as Caleb goes through his growing pains.
The idea of Fields displacing Russ is ridiculous when you examine the numbers.
    *Justin Fields’s 3-Year Career Stats*
    Pass attempts: 958
    Pass completions: 578
    Completion%: 60.3%

On pace for 152 fumbles over 12 seasons with 44 lost.
Career 4th quarter Passer rating: 53

    Yards lost: 866
    Yards lost per sack: 6.5
    Fumbles: 25.75 (8 Lost)
Career 4th quarter Passer rating: 104
NOTE: As you can see, Fields has a slight advantage in rushing. Russ is superior in every other department. While both take a lot of sacks, Russ has taken them due to bad/inconsistent O-Lines and pure stubbornness on his part.
Fields takes them because he can’t read the field!
    _______________________________________________
    *Russ’s Career Statistics*

    Yards lost per sack: 6.57
    Fumbles: 103 (32 Lost)
Career 4th quarter Passer rating: 104
*Keep in mind that Russ’s career statistics include two subpar years in Denver in which both years skewed Russ’s stats downward.*
If we were to discount Russ’s Denver years, Russ’s 3-year average stats would be that much better than Fields’s, and that would include two injury years in Seattle (2016 and 2021) that produced outlier statistics.

There is absolutely no actual competition for the starting spot. Fake controversy and over played. Wilsons been to two SB's, I mean come on. He's faced real obstacles in the highest of pressure situations. He WILL start, and as Hawks fan who watched him from day one, I'm predicting he will thrive and be very successful in Pittsburg.

  • @BenSmith-mg5jv

The relationship they have COULD BE the BEST thing that's EVER HAPPENED TO HIM in his short career. The problem that probably has a COIN TOSS SHOT OF HAPPENING is when/ if Russell Wilson has 2-3 BAD games EVERYONE, MEDIA, FANS and passively or possibly not so passively THE PLAYERS THEMSELVES WILL BE CALLING FOR JUSTIN FIELDS 2 be put in the game. I'd say it's 50/50 occurrence by WEEK 10 & NEARLY 💯 B4 SEASON'S END. Short term, EITHER scenario COULD benefit the Steelers. IF.... IF Fields TRULY STUDIES AND MIMICKS the way Russ approaches his craft, then takes the reigns in week 8-12, the Steelers COULD GET a FRANCHISE QB on what would be at least close to the ROOKIE discount or close to it for AT LEAST all of NEXT season & maybe longer.
OR if Justin Fields DOESN'T take the job AT ALL this year that means Russell Wilson has played well enough that the STEELERS END UP WINNING AT LEAST 1 PLAYOFF GAME. Which is the track I think the team would have to be on and achieve for Justin Fields NOT to be put in AT ALL during the entire season as the STARTER.So then the Steelers would have had a good year, cut or trade Russ in off season and name Justin Fields their starter almost immediately after seasons end and NEXT year will be all his to prove or not prove he LEARNED what was NEEDED from Russ to be the Pittsburgh Steelers QB for the next 10 years. If he FAILS in the '25-' 26 season well then you'll have a bad record, high draft pick AND trade what you gotta trade to get into top 1-3 draft spots and draft your franchise QB. Yea this laat scenario has y'all biting the big one a bit BUT having ONLY ONE crap year when choosing WRONG TWICE in a row on your QB in NFL BUT ONLY having ONE losing season as a result B4 getting ANOTHER is pretty Darn good. MOST failed FRANCHISE QB attempts gives u 2 or 3 doomsday seasons. So. . yeah.
