I am very happy to see the updated interior from Honda. How refreshing it is to see a parchment interior as opposed to the stale black or grey interior. It is definately an upscale vibe.
Thank you for doing this. My current vehicle has over 300K (1996) on it and I have been waiting for the HRV to finally be redesigned so I can buy one. Based on what this video shows, I am really happy to have waited. When you stated that it no longer has the magic seats i was a little disappointed. However, because the rear seats fold flat down that is no issue at all. Much appreciation!
I've always liked the dark interior cars. Ive never cared for the light interior, but I gotta say. This color combo with the light interior looks really nice. I am getting ready to order me an EX-L now and, I dont mind the lighter interior..it looks nice
I do wish they would've added the rear ac vents on the back of the center console. That's one thing that alot of vehicles don't have enough of. Rear seats often don't get enough air for children. A flaw in my first gen rdx as well. And that's a deal breaker for me living in FL
Consider Odyssey.. if you have kids you will be so happy to choose this than a traditional SUV. Odyssey has the best in class space as a mini-van and will beat almost all SUVs.
I've been devoted to Honda's for years owning various models including a previous HRV and hate to be critical but what happened to Honda's unique style? The oversized bulbous front end looks a whole lot like the Ford Mustang Mach E, while the rest (aside from the 'C' pillar) looks very similar to the new Ford Escape?? Almost looks like Honda and Ford collaborated on this one? The Asian version looks far more unique which makes me wonder why the N. American market gets something that looks rather bland and cookie-cutter? But then again the Honda wins for overall quality, interior space and a variety of useful features.
You and are in similar boats. To say in dissipated in Honda current lineup would be an understatement. I’ve ONLY owned Hondas my entire life, but am actually considering a Toyota or the Kia EV6. There is nothing in Hondas lineup that inspires me. Who the bell is excited by this same old CRV style? It’s old news.
In Europe there is no Acura. So the accord is actually a Acura TLX and more expensive. The hrv there is like if Acura made one here. In Europe cars are small but fully luxurious and people pay for it. In north America people don't so the budged hrv.
Europe will get Z-RV which seemed to be the same vehicle, but it is going to be either hybrid e-hev or fully electric. Anyway, the interior and body is promising!
I like what I see compared to the previous model. Too bad they didn't just Do a de tuned k20 from the type r like they did with the rdx. Or even the 1.5t
Promo 2023 HRV video I watched on April 4th was a Honda Civic Station Wagon jacked like a SUV. This HRV is nothing like that - I like this exterior design much better
Gotta admit watching this vid you sir made me consider it for my daily driver -- fact is I actually drove out to the dealer lot just to see if it will be worth buying... honestly I changed my mind as soon as the car doors opened ( and I was looking at the ex-l version too) ... that older one parked right near it just seems a bit more solid and well rounded, smaller and with less stuff but a lot more put together ...
You're da man Jay! Great presentation. Looking forward to your test drive. I've seen videos of the Europe/Asia version and we got the better one. Better exterior and interior design. Much better materials used in US version. Ours looks more high end. Maybe only knock is theirs is Hybrid. But I think it's coming. If I weren't in Atlanta, I'd come out and buy one from you!
It looks nice, and has some interesting features, but it also seems like a step backwards. I owned a current-model CRV, which seems so much more capable than this new HRV. The new HRV is almost as big as the current CRV (just one or two inches smaller in each dimension), yet it is far less capable. It looks like it has less front legroom, significantly less rear legroom, and the cargo capacity is almost 40% lower (less than 25 cubic ft vs 39.2 cubic ft in the CRV). Plus the engine is significantly weaker and it doesn’t get any better gas mileage. And pricing is almost the same as the CRV. Sooo, what’s the point exactly? Nicer infotainment system, some fancy-looking stitching, and interior LED lights? I’m really not sure what’s the point of this thing.
Msrp for the Hrv Exl is under $31k the Crv Exl Msrp is almost 37k not even close to the same price. The 23 Hrv is a brand new car in and out and a BIG step up from the 22 model.
I drove the new HRV shortly after making my comment above, and I think I now understand the point of this vehicle: It is actually fun. It’s not fast, it can’t match the CRV in passenger or cargo space, but it’s a lot more fun to drive because it handles better, has a very tight turning radius, steers accurately.
Looks like there was an embargo on releasing the HR-V footage up until dealers even started receiving inventory. Would like to know if there is a similar embargo on the 2023 CR-V. Are we close or far away from seeing the CR-V? Does anyone know?
"NO MORE MAGIC SEATS" Just when I thought the north american HRV could not possibly get any worse. Japan always has to make the north american version of their products worse, don't they. Must be some kind of rule.
The new HRV suspension is far superior to the old Honda Fit set up, So yes I agree I will miss the magic seats but it is worth it for a better ride and handling
@@jbshp2011 they shifted the gas tank (fit design) from under the driver seat, to the civic platform which is under the 2nd row seats, so if you remove the 2nd row seats, there's actually no room under the seat lol.
So Honda figured out how to make their hrv cheaper built then the predecessor while keeping the same sticker price if not more. This looks like an escape from ford with a Honda badge. Then it only has 156hp? Good luck merging or passing and why TF is the camera man or woman breathing so hard?
Thanks I've been hoping to see a review of this as I always thought it looks kinda cute. You seem to confirm my fear since you didn't even mention the audio. It must be genericAF. I didn't see any branding the couple times a speaker shows. Bah, probably has 6 speakers.Maybe 8 hahah.

No passenger side rear view mirror camera???? Idk other than the hrv 22 lacking power I really like mine. No, it does not do zero to sixty but if you put it into sport mode you get a little more pep out of it especially when you’re on a highway. I’ve gotten mine to 100 and it cruises nicely at that speed. I like the way it looks. I like that it is a smaller suv. I have the ex so it has a decent amount of bells and whistles…including the rear view camera mounted on the passenger rear view mirror. Why don’t they do this on more vehicles??? Has a sunroof, tinted windows, carplay, lane drift and rear end collision avoidance…I like it! And I honestly don’t know if going from 141 hp to 158 hp is going to make too much of a difference in power. I would have thought they would have at least given the new hrv 175 hp. Another thing I wish it did come with was remote start but I think I can add that.
