    Have a 2005 FZ1 and boy oh boy are these bike capable.....over 130,000km touring on the clock and more recently a track day every second week, and its ran flawlessly. Cant get any better in the jack of all trades category. Only thing I could fault is when stock its easy to scrape the exhaust and rear sets, and its a bit floaty suspension wise.

    Not gonna lie, seeing your FZ on track and hearing that motor wind up makes me miss the shit out of when I used to have a FZ also. Great riding.

    Just did a track day ...wow . I was amazed how my Fz1 performed .
    Noticed your rear pipe mount , no rear pegs . I was thinking of doing the same and figured you did .
    Do you just track the bike ? Would like to see a walk around , I’m sure I missed a few out her items

    Just wondering what sprockett size you are running? Seems like it pulls a lot harder than than stock and has a higher top speed. Would like to get that mph and acceleration out of my fz1 I have full exhaust, power cammender 5, block off plates, -1 tooth on the front sprocket opened up the air box and ported throttle bodys

    wow. i own a fz1 and I'm sure you have done some work to yours and I am nowhere near as good on mine as you are, but it feels nice to know the bike is this capable.

      They are great bikes indeed! I have only done small, basic modifications to mine. But the best upgrade is a pair of good tyres actually. I have a looong way to go and much to learn before the bike is holding me back..

  • @DamianDeEu

    What rearsets are you using? The standard ones seem scratch the road at fairly low angle.

    Have Fz1 appropriately modified , spend most my time in the canyons, Santa brought me leathers this Christmas so I can take it to the track. See you have tires warmers , I have been on tracks with cars, shfterkarts and MX bike ...first time with the Fz ...how much did you save with just the tail mod ?

  • @johnsenkiw430
    @johnsenkiw430 5 лет назад +1

    Do you still have this bike ? Just had my frame welded - 07 FZ . In Colorado so too cold
    We will see how things go at the track in the spring .
    You have the best Fz1 track video.
    Cheers !

    From what I can see...Stock foot pegs ? Did you remove the center stand ?
    Excellent video , I watched a few times

      Johnny Fuelbner Yes the center stand is removed. Stock footpegs, but cut aprox 2cm to avoid them to scrape.

    Where did you get that awesome looking windshield? I've been looking for something like that for my FZ1.

    • @joakimlundmark6402
      @joakimlundmark6402  7 лет назад

      The windshield is called "Speed Screen" and is made by copperdawg. I think it completely changes the look of the bike for the better.. It's avalible in several different designs, with or without mirrors, different heights etc.
      Check out www.copperdawg.com

    Is there the on-off effect on the throttle when released the throttle and accelerate again ? I found those complains on forums , what do you think about ?

    • @alchemist3724
      @alchemist3724 2 года назад

      Only on the 06, the 07-08-09 all have the throttle snatch fixed in the ecu, I have an 09 and test rode an 06 and the throttle snatch on the 06 was very bad, but if you re flash the 06 ecu, the problem is gone; or just buy a 07-09 and problem solved. My 09 is a beast!!

    Hello! Please tell me - have you ridden your fz1 on a stock exhaust pipe? I have 2011 fz1 bone stock and I feel like it's a bit tweaked by the giant-size exhaust and cat. I wonder if it would get any better if I changed it to an aftermarket pipe? Can you advice me any on this matter?

    • @joakimlundmark6402
      @joakimlundmark6402  7 лет назад

      Yes I have. I think it may have gained some hp, but you probably get a little fooled by the sound since it "sounds much faster". In this video I have an SC-project slipon with the cat still there.
      Nowdays the cat is gutted, but I can't really tell any difference..
      But I think you should go for it. It's always nice with a bit louder pipes!

    • @KUREKMotorsport
      @KUREKMotorsport 7 лет назад

      Yes - That's what I thought so too. I have always ridden bikes with aftermaket pipes on them, plus I'm often riding my trackbike zx636 with loud one and I think I just misjudge the power. It is strong as fk, yet it's so quiet. That may be the main problem. I might go on and try some other exhaust then. Thank you for you answer. Have a nice rides out there! Cheers!

    • @joakimlundmark6402
      @joakimlundmark6402  7 лет назад

      That sounds good! I don't have a power commander yet. But I would recommend you to put a slipon, bmc airfilter and open the intake on the airbox. This modifications with a pc5 I think would be great..
      Cheers!

    i would love to modified my fz1 tail like yours. yours is great looking

    • @joakimlundmark6402
      @joakimlundmark6402  7 лет назад

      Thank you! It was quite a bit of work actually. But if you have the time, and the possibility to weld aluminum, then go for it!

  • @mikej5404
    @mikej5404 8 лет назад

    What work have you done to it?

    • @joakimlundmark6402
      @joakimlundmark6402  7 лет назад +4

      Just some basic stuff. Slipon, bmc filter, modified airbox.. I don't even have a power commander yet. But the bike is a bit lighter compared to a stock one. I have removed everyting unnecessarily and also lightened and modified the rear frame with a ZX6R race tail. The biggest weight savers is the tail, central stand and exhaust I think.

    How are you not grinding your foot pegs? I hit mine on the street in tight turns

    • @parmesanjon
      @parmesanjon 5 лет назад +4

      While the stock footpeg feelers are quite low, scraping foot pegs is a tell tale sign of poor body positioning. If you are leaning that far over, you should look into leaning off the bike more to pick the bike up, which will make it much more stable as well. Or slow down on the street and keep it for the track - I'm guilty of being a hypocrite of this though.

    Hi. What tires are you using? Thanks

    • @joakimlundmark6402
      @joakimlundmark6402  7 лет назад

      Hello! In this clip I was running sportsmart 2. The rear tire had start to become a little bit bad, so I had to take it easy out of the corners. The day after this I changed to slicks, and it's not even possible to compare the grip. It was so much better.

    • @pedrosousa7254
      @pedrosousa7254 7 лет назад

      Thanks a lot for you answer mate. Awesome skills. I have the same bike as you, but the naked version FZ1 N. Great machines. I don't usually do track days, I was just curious about your tires because the rear end of my bike tends to slide a bit when exiting slow corners, as this bike has huge amounts of torque. I ride Michelin Pilot Road (i know, Road says it all) at the moment but considering trying other stickier tyres maybe. Ride safe!

    Don’t be so jerky on the throttle. Be smooth. You’ll get faster this way and there will be less negative input into the chassis
