wowowowowow you're making all my dreams come true thanks for putting this tutorial together. Seriously man thanks so much. Cant wait to get a chunk of change to get the dji set up you put on your umx conscendo video description. Curious, are you an engineer?
Excelente trabajo 👌. Saludos cordiales
BRILLIANT VIDEO - built one and it works fine ECEPT for the centre button. The button is tested and correctly soldered to the board as per the instructions. Should it centre when connected to the pc via usb using the button? Any help appreciated.
Thank you! And yes it should center when connected to the pc. Just to double check, if you connect the button to a multimeter in continuity mode, and touch the ends to each end you connected the button to, does the multimeter beep? It also might be easiest to join the discord and send a video of the issue so I can troubleshoot more
@@InvertedAviatorsRC Thanks for your quick reply. The continuity is correct so no contact as standard - full continuity when pressed at the board so wiring is good.
All looks ok and everything else works. I’ve raised an issue on GitHub as I’m using a new BLE rev2 board with new gui controller and firmware so maybe something there - so will see how that goes.
I have been looking for the content in this video for a couple weeks. What other options are there for the dc power supply? either a small portable PS like yours or a diy lipo solution? Awesome job man Also the head tracker git page says that it is incompatible with the Arduino Nano 33 IoT, which you have in the description as an affiliate link
Yeah there are other power options. According to Arduino's page (store.arduino.cc/products/arduino-nano-33-ble) it can handle a max input voltage of 21V. That means you could power it with any LiPO battery up to 5 cell, but I would probably only go up to 4S. Instead of soldering the female barrel connector to the board, you could solder an XT-30 (amzn.to/4dzlEV9) or XT-60 (amzn.to/4fBL1rd) to get power. Also, shoot! I'll get that link updated, and you're totally right the loT isn't compatible. amzn.to/4dcyyIG
@@InvertedAviatorsRC Most excellent, thank you. I am going to throw this together as soon as I can. Btw where are the stl files on thingiverse? Can’t find it If you want to collab on a lipo PS setup and housing for this lmk, I’d like to get it done proper so others can benefit and optimally not have the side of their head catch fire. I do not have DJI goggles so a budget build would be awesome
Oh my apologies, the receiver in the video is an AR620 (amzn.to/3OdQesH), but you can also use any receiver that has standard servo ports. For example, I have a different plane where I connected it to a Radiomaster ER6 (amzn.to/3OjNslv). Just make sure the receiver protocol matches with your transmitter, and you'll be good to go!
Hmmm, I read through this gitbook (headtracker.gitbook.io/head-tracker) and I don’t think they will work. You could also ask in their discord to see if other people got it to work with the boards you have
I like the zoomed in shots when soldering. They really help me visualize the process.
Pro tip: Next time you want to solder 3 wires to the same tab, twist the wires together and solder once. This is what us audio guys do all the time.
Oh thanks for the tip! Yeah its always a bother to solder a bunch of wires together, so that should hopefully make things easier!

Yes - took some work to get to this point- will keep you posted on progress 👍
Yes please keep me posted! We might have to make another video on how to make the head tracker on different boards
Thank you so much for building this for me! cant wait to make some new videos with it
Yeah absolutely! Can't wait to get flying with ya!
Awesome, thanks so much!
Absolutely! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
You must be in Mound. 😊
Incorrect good sir!
Great work!
Thank you very much!
@@InvertedAviatorsRC 💛 watched the whole video to give it a little boost in youtube. Because the topic is not very common..
Oh that’s so considerate! Thank you very much!!!

Haha happy to help! Yeah the digi-adapter is super nice for using the dji goggles v2 with analog cameras. And I'm a machine learning scientist!

Ok perfect. And just to make sure, are you soldering the wires to the correct pads on the board, and are no pads touching?

AH! yeah the rev2 board might be the problem. I tried making it with the rev2 and I ran into some annoying problems…
Thanks for sharing. Do you have the URL/link for the 3D printed case?
Yes! We just got a thingiverse account so we’re in the process of uploading all of our designs. I’ll update the description when it’s uploaded

Yeah absolutely! The stl files aren’t up yet, and we’re still tweaking a few things. But yeah I agree that doing it properly should help everyone!

Woop woooooop!

Sorry, what is the name of the device/controller that controls servo movement?
It’s an arduino nano 33 ble. It’s also linked in the description
@@InvertedAviatorsRC Emm yes, but I quest about the receiver on the left top corner at 23:25. Do you remember its name?

where is the link to the button, and would you sell me one of these assembled please?
Here is the link! (amzn.to/3YximNC) And yes we will, just reach out on discord
Hi, I have Arduino Nano and Atmega328, CH340 boards on hand. Can I use either of them in place of Arduino Nano 33 BLE.

can i use esp32 ?
It looks like the developers of the head tracking project are working on it, but there's nothing currently working for the ESP32 unfortunately.
also, the Discord link says "invalid invite" - help me please! :)
the other link worked and i have joined your Discord now!
Sorry! We got the link fixed (hopefully)
Woop wooooop welcome to the community!
oh hell..I don't have a 3D printer..HELP..! :)
Oh we can help! Just DM us on Discord!
how does a $30 build happen when the board alone costs $45?
Shoot when we made the video the board was only ~$20 on Amazon. We apologize on the confusion
