- In this video, I put my swing wing mechanism on a 70mph Traxxas Rustler and jumped it off a giant ramp at full speed. In part two I will put big props on it and make it actually fly. I just turned 63. I'm a retired teacher, traditional, I might be the last person you want to hear from, but I'm still a kid at heart and love to build things...my equipment is a little outdated. Your 4 wheeled Flyger, flying + gliding, RC is awesome. But better yet you have restored my thoughts and belief that if students & young adults have access and support they, you, can do just about anything. Your ideas, problem solving skills, initiative, etc...is impressive, cool, when I think of all the technology this generation has at their fingertips I'm envious, but at the same time I'm glad you guys have the technology to create stuff like this, better yet you've put it to great use. I want to buy one, not the buggy, the rotating thing...I know you linked us to all the stuff I'd need I just don't have the equipment to build it. Great video I hope for success in your future...good job !

Some toy company is gonna steal this idea if they haven't already. I'm blown away how well that works and I'm excited to see what you come up with next. Longer, narrower wings like a glider maybe. Sounds like that's kinda what you're thinking too.

During his prophetic mission, Jesus performed many miracles. God tells us that Jesus said:
“I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I make for you the shape of a bird out of clay, I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God’s permission. I heal the blind from birth and the leper. And I bring the dead to life by God’s permission. And I tell you what you eat and what you store in your houses....” (Quran, 3:49)
Muslims believe that Jesus was not crucified. It was the plan of Jesus’ enemies to crucify him, but God saved him and raised him up to Him. And the likeness of Jesus was put over another man. Jesus’ enemies took this man and crucified him, thinking that he was Jesus. God has said:
...They said, “We killed the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of God.” They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but the likeness of him was put on another man (and they killed that man)... (Quran, 4:157)
Neither Muhammad nor Jesus came to change the basic doctrine of the belief in one God, brought by earlier prophets, but rather to confirm and renew it.

Watching this was a hoot!!!! Keep it up. There are a couple of things that may help it fly better. A higher aspect ratio wing as others have noted. One other thing would be to add a serious amount of washout on the last 30% of each wing tip. Thus would help in preventing some of the tip stall and roll you are having on takeoff. You may need as much as 15 or 20 degrees washout on each wing tip. Adding washout to foam board wings can be a challenge. It can be accomplished with slow, careful application of heat from a heat gun while securing the wing in a jig to get the desired twist.

I'm quite impressed, but the wings being uneven... the unevenness... I have a crazy idea. Design it so that as it twists back it raises one and lowers the other which could be achieved by making a cam like feature, it makes sense in my head. The force from the uneven deployment may upset the car a bit but once deployed should do well. Maybe some EDFs molded into the wings. I love this project and however you go forward well done.

This video is absolutely wonderful! The story you tell of you building this thing in stages, learning from each idea is so neat. The music is 10/10 exactly what I want in engineering-adventure videos! And your engineering is top!
Idea: Fold-down wings at each side. Tiny wings with a spring-mechanism that pushes them down with FORCE. That way you get a little lift at the beginning from "flapping" the wing once, and you save on weight by using only tiny servos to unlock the springs?
wow this is so cool, I have always wanted a traxxas car, and this is is taking it to the extreme. it went way farther than I thought. I tried doing this once, but the rc car I used went like 2 mph, and the wings didn't contract, and expand, epic.

One way you could refine your production would be to get a cheap LED light and illuminate your face a bit more. it's a trick we used to use at school, and it was one of the easiest ways to make the footage look great. we used $3 LED USB clamp lights and a battery bank and it was super versitile. Ideally, the subject should be slightly brighter than everything else. Helps draw attention to the host (and therefore what they are talking about).

looks like you have a clamp light above your shoulder in the background at 7:15 in this vid that would work if you got a soft, diffused, and warmer(more yellow than blue tint) bulb in it

You should try using skinny wheels. Those big ones have a lot of rotational inertia that is torquing the nose down when the ESC brake engages.
This is awesome. I was thinking about doing something similar but not a plane version. Just found your vids. Do you talk about your printing set-up. I am new to that and looking to understand what printers/plastics you are using to stand up to RC abuses. Also, I am mod on Kev's channel and have met him. I forwarded on this video to him. I don't know him very well and his super busy but I hope he will take a sec and check it out. I was thinking you 2 should meet up before you mentioned wanting to.
