Exactly. The mixdowns on these tracks from this era were time consuming and done on hardware mixers, so they spent a very long time getting them spot on. Really great on a giant system. The bass that drops 1:33 on a proper rig is body blasting.
I've searched high and low for the actual computer game sample to hear it in that context - we're thinking it was R-Type: Game Boy??? Can you enlighten us Slipmatt????!!!
