I really appreciate your insights. What's confusing in my experience is boundary issues. I know men struggling because if a guy is too friendly and the girl likes him, she will see him as stringing her along. However if a guy has platonic intentions, then discovers she is amazing and asks her out, well he better hope she doesnt label him as a pest because a huge complaint is, "oh i think he just pretended to be friends with me when he really liked me this whole time," even when that is not the case. Women may avoid this guy because they see him as a weasel even though his feelings honestly did change over time. Then it's a huge risk for the guy, because if he really likes her as a friend, he may be scared of losing her as a friend if he is misreading her friendliness. Guys get made fun of a lot for misreading womens' friendliness. It can make a guy very sad to be lose a good friend, as it wouldn't be out of the norm for her future husband to be suspicious of the guy's intentions in the future, even if he is cool and innocent. Its a risk, but that it is one of the many risks we take every morning when we wake up. Cheers!
