The zookeeper is hilarious: "it's politics mixed with women - you know, it's pandemonium", then the sly smile after he says it 😄

Why don't you make 2 groups
Split Alice & Villa & let them become dominate in their group.

Ave to have another living and outdoor quarters for a whole other group, which takes time, money and manpower providing there is another area available to build on🤷‍♀️

Where are these videos filmed? The fact that so many of the chimpanzees shown in these videos are suffering from alopecia is NOT a good sign at all. This environment looks like a very boring place for the apes. Very, very, sad. 😢

Tend to disagree on this. I think it's Chester Zoo. I believe it's in the top six zoos in the world. Could be down to age, climate, other factors behind hair loss.
So good that they can make a documentary on Chimps behaviour. Comfortable enough they are able to breed.

@@simonbrown7455 Since it's an interesting question, I decided to look it up. It's not that I trust 3/4 of mainstream information anyway, but this is what I found when I asked about captive apes and alopecia -
"Overgrooming - when individuals spend more time engaged in self or social grooming behaviors than is necessary." At the bottom of the paragraph, it states that this has been observed in captive primates and "appears to stem from inadequate foraging."
The unstated impetus for making my original comment was my opposition to the existence of zoos. I believe that all breeding programs should be stopped and that the animals who are already present should have normal lives until all of them are eventually gone. I don't believe that any zoo should be on a list of "the best zoos", as the mere existence of zoos is an anathema, to me at least.
I mean no disrespect to you. This is just the way I feel about it. Also, I usually have problems when I write the name of the source of information that I post. Even the name of the company that owns this platform, believe it or not, so I've had to omit the source of this alopecia info, but it's easy to find. Hope you have a great day!! 🙂
