Family helping family, nothing better than that!!.. Tim, your nephew Randall is a fine young man!!.. Always love watching the videos he and your brother Tom are in.. Good people!!.. Great video Tim & Christy..
I don’t hear very well but you and Randall’s voices sounded so similar I could hardly hear the difference. Working with family is one of the many joys of life. You’re living the good life Brother Deere.
This is great!! Reminds me of Hollie's dad. He and her mother would come over to visit us when we lived in Galveston and Waynetown. It wouldn't matter the reason that they had come to visit, but he would always find a project. Water line replacement, trees that needed to come down due to being too close to the house, etc. He always wanted to help us out. Tim-you appear to have a similar heart. Blessings.
I cried a little when you said the tree pieces were gonna go out to the woods to rot! That would have been a years worth of Saturday night fires for me.
Good seeing you working with your family on projects. Reminds me of working on similar projects with mine. Once one gains experience with properly-spaced pallet forks, it's surprising what kinds of debris loads can be tackled just about as easy as using grapples.
Hi Tim, When cutting a stump, it often times works better to cut with the top of the bar. What happens is that the chain will jam the sawdust into the slot to prevent the bar from getting pinched. Try it once!
@@TractorTimewithTim We totally agree with you there! Life is short, treat others as you wish to be treated, and pursue your passions! Most excellent, thank you again!
Awesome video. It's nice seeing your family working together. You can really see the family dynamic alive and well with your family. You guys always help each other out when you need to get things done. Those rhododendron have beautiful flowers. My parents had a bunch of them around their house when I was growing up.
Always check the basement where the sewer/water lines come in before removing any stumps/trees next to the house. I was adding a 2nd floor and needed to remove two large bushes next to the house. I used a strap to pull out the stumps with my truck and while pulling one I noticed my walkway lifting up! Luckily I saw that and stopped. I discovered the roots wrapped around my sewer line and had to hand dig then used a sawzall to remove it. I love that grapple!
Yep it’s a Rhodo. Cut it back in the fall. Nice video as always Tim. Been wanting a thumb for my 1025R, seems like it’d be really handy for stuff like this. Reason I bought my tractor with a backhoe was for landscape tear outs just like this for my little landscape company. Tim do you have any videos about the controls for the grapple?
You may want to cut the bushes down so they are below the windows. This way no one could be blocked as they look through or attempt to pry open a window. Just a thought!
Watching you guys just drive across the field like look at me!........after i just came in from moving 8in of fresh wet snow and piling it ontop of the 4ft kf the winters snow.......no dirt around here in northern maine! Lol......
Tim, Check out BXExpanded and add the "Talon" root ripper. I've been using that a lot and it cuts the trees right out but doesn't disturb the dirt as much.
This reminds me of when farmers and ranchers hire someone to clear trees around their fields. They create a huge pile of brush and trees in the fields to burn later. I see hundreds of dollars about to go up in smoke. Why not sell the wood for firewood? The firewood would probably pay for the clearing costs.
I was looking at some of your items for sale Tim I noticed two things that really appeal to me the coffee cup and what to me what looks like a refrigerator magnet that is cool I’m gonna buy some
Great video. I can see his Amused face when he was driving the 2038R with the Grapple, like a kid in Christmas eve. Question, the 3rd function for the 2038R is a diverter valve or a true 3rd function system? Thank you for sharing.
You should show how your third function works with the 2038r quick disconnect system. I don't remember you making a video about it. Does the deere quick disconnect work with a third function or is it separate. Couldn't quite see in the video. Thanks for all the awesome videos you produce.
The artillian diverter is on the loader. So, it is only an electrical connection from tractor to loader. So, the single point is still fully functional.
Amazing how often trees get planted way to close to houses. Then a long time before they are mature you have to take them down. Course I have never been guilty of that.
WAIT a minute, all of a sudden there's a very strange noise coming from that there saw, dang it, I wanted to see just how far that green saw would make it.
Does each grapple "claw" have an independent control (i.e. solenoid) or are they controlled together and just apply clamping pressure depending on the load on each side?
They are not independent, but there is no need for them to be independent. You naturally want them to clamp or release the load together. This approach works perfectly in practice.
I have a ms362 c-m great saw, 25” can be a bit much for it since that’s the max recommended size. With a light muffler mod it pulls better. The electric carbs have incredible throttle response.
The Arizona Homestead Project no, they have never been synchronized. This is the way our Deere loaders work. Very simple lightweight design. Nothing to worry about. They will ‘straighten’ very easily once you contact the bucket. Just drive on in there, and push them until they line up.
@@TractorTimewithTim Maybe a video on the plus and minuses would be good, I'd like to hear more perspective on it for sure. Nearly bought an Artillian this week but my dealer gave me a amazing deal on a land pride one. It just seems so effortless with this one and all the others seem difficult to get to work the same. I mean it looks that way watching it anyhow. I guess I just have to wait and see, I think I just enjoy the skull faces on the Artillian far too much. =)
Took maybe a minute to back up there and get setup with the backhoe. I have no idea what you mean. BTW, of course we weren’t getting paid. This is family work.
Chris...your typing this snarky reply took longer than the setup of the backhoe. You have too much time on your hands. I suggest using your time to be positive and encouraging to people. You may like the result

In case Tim doesn’t have time to answer this, when I was researching tractors last summer, Deere didn’t offer a third function valve option for the 2038R. Perhaps they do now. I believe Tim installed an aftermarket diverter valve - and I think one of his videos last year refers to it. I believe the valve he has is from Artillian (same as the grapple) but I’m not 100% sure of that. If I recall, W.R. Long also offers diverter valves for this model. For the record, after all my research and test drives, I bought a Kubota L4060 cab. I’m extremely happy with my choice but would never say anything bad about the Deere compacts - both brands make great products - it’s just a matter of what size and features you want at what price, and how good your local dealer is.

Randle did good with the grapple. There are very few people that couldn’t benefit having a tractor that size around all the time.

I'm impressed with how quickly Randall caught on to using the grapple

I didn't know Randall could drive a tractor that small!
Looks like Rhododendrom. We have lots of that here in western NC. You can cut it back and it will grow right back.
Prune Rhododendrons after there done flowering, for the year, any spring pruning will sacrifice the blooms

Another great family video!!!!
I love the 2038R videos. My 1025 is great, but my dream is to have the 2038!

my favorite kinda of work, landscaping. making a mess look better. so satisfying.
Great job. Love it when ya work with the family.
Randall did great for a newbie operator! With the Grapple.... LOL!
One of the shrub I saw in the beginning of the video looked like “mountain laurel” or “spoonwood”. It’s also the state flower of Pennsylvania.
Awesome.
hey you guys on the farm hope yall stay safe over there and have a great year

Do you ever have problems when changing implements on the loader and the attachment arms move at different rates. Like out of sync?
The loader arms are not synchronized. This is no big deal. Just push them against the target. They will equalize. No worries
