@kennymarket2428 i would watch every episode twice then go online and see what other people's theories were. So much fun. No other show has ever been like that for me
I love this. Seriously, I do. It ties the Jack story so well. Remember on episode 1x04, White Rabbit, how Christian Shephard told Jack he was no hero and that he didn't have what it takes? And how Jack tried to prove him wrong the whole time, and then got to the Island and finally was a hero, only to ruin everything and leave, and then slowly but surely go from Man of Science to Man of Faith? It's just perfect. And I'm not even a Jack fan.
I love Jack's expression after he drinks the water. The look in his eyes as whatever Jacob is Jack becomes is full of wonder, power, and a terrible, secret knowledge. It's great when Jacob sees that look and smiles, knowing that now Jack is indeed like him.
@@Zealant He does feel different. It's so evident in this scene and what he does after. He can feel the nature of the Source and the will of the Island. But he says to his friends otherwise.

I always wondered if the incantations with the water were a misnomer and the touch on the shoulder after saying, "Now you're like me" is the real transferring of power/knowledge. All 3 times we see that little ceremony, they all touch their successors shoulder and say those words.
So that's why jack wakes up in the bamboo forest in 1x01 and 5x06, he was always meant to be the new jacob (temporarily) and kill the mib thing. With that he finally gave purpose to his life. Now hurley being the new new jacob was also something that i saw comming, he could talk to the dead and was blessed for some reason (like jacob said).

@SARAHfromLONDONuk It's actually very spiritual, and powerful scene in "Lost." And you have to see the finale to know what happens. But I'll drop you a hint, Kate doesn't become the protector of the Island. ;)
@Transformers217 Considering the presence of the flash-sideways timeline, I highly doubt the finale will be as simple as "Jack dies a hero". By the way, here are my four suggestions for the finale: - Ben is conning MiB, he's actually still on Richard's side; - Desmond will go into the Source, since he's the special one; - The events on the original timeline in the finale create the FST, not Jughead; - Jack's neck wound will be caused during the finale; I'm so excited for this... The End.
@Transformers217 I don't think any of the main characters in Lost are perfect, they all have their flaws. Even Locke let himself become used by the Smoke Monster which resulted in him being killed. Jack was a closed minded, stubborn fool, but this season he found his calling and redeemed himself. Never mind what this Kate Austin freak thinks.
@oFinesse It's in Latin: "Nam non accipimus hoc quasi vulgarem potionem, sed ut ille sit quasi unus mecum." Translation: For we do not accept this as common drink, but so that I may become one with him.
@LDMythos I figured. Although, people are predicting that Jack's going to die. I would hate for that to happen, but his story arc is complete, so it only makes sense that the hero of the story would die as a leader, in the last episode of the series. :)
@AllLoveKateAusten Um, most people should feel pity for somebody like Jack. The fact that you're so judgemental, says more about you, and less about other people. Jack is a flawed person, and he overcame those flaws, and became a true hero. Stop bashing him for making mistakes.
@Transformers217 Yes, like Locke with the button, "I was wrong". But aren't you glad that I was? Would you rather want to know the finale beforehand? ;)
@AllLoveKateAusten No, he wasn't. Jack was a good person, who had flaws. Stop trying to judge people, or fictional characters with human flaws. You're not perfect, and neither is anybody else. Kate loved Jack, because he is somebody to admire, to strive to become, and somebody to learn from. And Jack's story is easily the most important, and meaningful journey throughout the entire series.
"For we do not accept this just as a common drink, but as if that (he?) should be one with me." (Nam non accipimus hoc quasi vulgarem potionem, sed ut ille sit quasi unus mecum.)"
@AllLoveKateAusten Stop trying to lie. You said that Jack would be killed by Ben and Locke, and that Kate would become the new protector of the Island, and that both Hurley and Sawyer would be her helpers. You were wrong. Jack wasn't killed, Kate saved him and kissed him, Hurley became the new protector, and Jack died alone, and everybody else in the flash-sideways were able to move on to the light.
@AllLoveKateAusten And stop trying to lie! You made a dumb prediction that Jack would be killed by both Ben and Locke, and Kate would become the protector of the Island. Stop taking drugs, and deal with the fact that Kate loved Jack more then anybody else, and that they both "moved on" together, towards the light. Why am I even having this idiotic debate with somebody like?

I just rewatched the clip. They hit the pocket just before the LOSTies got to it… there was a panic for two reasons: the pocket and the losties with guns

Heaven forbid someone should not agree with you Jack hating freaks, I'm very sorry life is so hard for you, maybe some day everyone will agree that Jack is a loser and then you can rest soundly.
@AllLoveKateAusten Stop hating on Jack and making stuff up. According to the facts that are presented during the show, Jack went to the light with everbody else. Now that light could be heaven, or whatever other paradise that is described by different religions. Jack is a good person, and proved to be a true man of faith. Which is why he able to move on towards the light, and be with Kate in paradise. Just because he was flawed, doesn't mean he was evil, or that he was going to hell.
Jack was a flawed hero. But everyone in the show was flawed. Hurley had an addiction to food, Charlie was a drug addict. Sawyer was a con man, Locke was insanely gullible and would not listen to anyone. Sayid was a torturer, Shannon was a spoiled rich girl, Sun and Jin were two people in a troubled marriage. That’s was the whole point of the show.

Jack already knew that. He'd deduced in his head that whoever chose to be the new protector would likely die getting rid of the Man in Black. Highly likely Jacob knew this too. Jack volunteered for the job first because he knew Hurley should be the one to have it after that, long term. He says it in the finale - "It was only supposed to be me so I could do this. But if someone has to take care of the Island, if someone has to protect it, then it should be you."
@@Jay-eq9gb I think you got it. It's about balance. They both had to die. Jacob created a duality when he tossed MiB into the cave of Light. Hugo who takes care of people without judgment or resentment and Ben who has been more faithful to the Island than anyone else among those left. Jacob didn't want the job, it was thrust upon him. Richard ONLY wanted the job so that he would NOT die. None of them had the investment in the Island and the people the way Hugo and Ben do!
