  • I am checking to see if the timing belt has been changed, as indicated by painted number on rocker cover, or is the painted number all that was added to the engine, on Honda Civic.

I like the way this mechanic works, very gentle and takes his time.

I would change it anyway... I am in the same delima. My car has 153K and the place I bought it from had no records of anything. I need to get it done for piece of mind, even though I am almost certain it has been changed with the amount of miles on the car and how well it seems to have been kept up along with the water pump, tensioners etc... still seem fine. Manual says every 105K/84mo. Going by months I'm 24 overdue for the 2nd changing interval (it's a 2000 and it's 2017) I have the kit, I just need to get motivated to do it.

The ignition leads were pulled of the plugs so he could remove the cover, no way it's gonna start.
