- Here is my simple choreography for this classic Disco number - The YMCA by The Village People. These are easy to learn Disco Dance moves. Do it for fun, fitness and an opportunity for movement. Instructions go for 2 minutes. Music and dance starts at 2:07.

Hi, Peter @petergaston it is July of 2023. Tomorrow night, Saturday July 15, I am going to the Village People Concert and the Kool and the Gang concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood California. I grew up listening to both groups.

Thank you I'm really enjoying your teaching. I never knew any of these dance moves. I've always been shy and self-conscious and I avoided the dance floor at all cost!! I never knew how to do the Bus Stop, Nutbush or YMCA. You make it seem fun and easy. I'm now doing this in the privacy of my own home and it's good exercise for this 50 yo woman going through weight gain and the menopause!

I love this video. I've watched it several times and practiced it. But I'm still trying to figure out if the video is flipped horizontally, or if it's your dyslexia that causes all the right hand and left hand moves to be the reverse of what you're saying. Or if you're talking about stage right and stage left.
Hey there - Thanks for watching! I'm teaching it in mirror mode so I'm talking about your right and your left not mine. The C shape is so that I can read your C as I'm watching you facing me!! Hope that helps. I have since done a better version by the way - watch it on my Classic 70s Dance Medley (which is also in mirror mode for you to copy.)🕺
