      @eliteteamkiller319 3 года назад +2

      @@zaggaona That's a very close call, but I'd take Lance. (1) He has a faster release. (2) He has way more experience running pro-style plays. (3) Lance is off the charts mentally. (4) He is built sturdier. (5) Might have a slightly strong arm.
      The only things I like better about Fields is his accuracy and experience.
      Of course, accuracy is a huge thing. And Fields has more experience in various game situations. He has shown toughness and a degree of clutchness. But Lance has the right disposition and intelligence to get much better in all aspects. Not saying Fields has a bad attitude or isn't smart, but Lance really is one of a kind in those categories.

      @@isaaclopez8735 IQ? Trey Lance' IQ is through the roof, both in football and outside of football. EDIT -- like seriously, why do people assume he's dumb? He's already picked up the entire 49ers playbook for godsake. He's a film junky, a football junky, and one of the main reasons Kyle Shanahan picked him is his mind. Even GRANT COHN knows this, and wrote an article on his best trait is his brain. Jfc.

    • @isaaclopez8735
      @isaaclopez8735 3 года назад +1

      @@eliteteamkiller319 I mentioned Pass IQ, if you watch his film closely it becomes evident that he has some trouble reading defense and tends to stare down his target due to his lack of ability to properly access a defense. However, it's clear that the kid is extremely intelligent and seems to learn quickly. As I said before, I believe that under Shanahan and with an exceptional pocket presence in Jimmy G as a mentor, they will definitely be able to hone his skills and cover for his current weaknesses.

      Can I ask u as a Niner fan a question? Did Shanahan in your opinion believe that he wanted Lance the whole time since the trade? Or did he want Fields and Fields ‘s stock plummeted?? I like to hear from a San Fran insider what is being rumored ?

    • @dogbiskits
      @dogbiskits 3 года назад +3

      @@salt27dogg what I believe, after listening carefully to the press conferences and things Shanahan has said, is that the 49ers traded up to 3 knowing that Lawrence and
      Wilson would go 1 and 2. At the 3 spot, the 49ers were comfortable taking Lance, Jones, or Fields, but they didnt know exactly who they wanted. They absolutely liked Lance since January because of his game film (before the trade was made). Then, as the draft process went on, Lance only grew on them more as he is a football savant who is super intelligent. Its not that Fields stock fell so they latched on to Lance, they actually loved Lance from the start.

    The 9-3 game against Illinois State (starts at 2:06:20) might be one of his worst stat lines, yet it might also ironically be some of his best tape. A lot of good plays, exemplifies reading the field, and if his receivers catch, they win going away. The only bad play he really does is at 2:10:30. Definitely a prime example that the stats don’t tell the whole story.

    Thank you for this. There’s some decent plays. But very very underwhelming for a “franchise QB/ top 5-10” pick. This FCS is some poor competition isn’t it.. Its actually worse than I thought. Kellen Mond would absolutely ball out in this division and put up similar/better numbers and be a top 5 pick.
    One thing I noticed is in the redzone he almost never throws and is very poor unless he runs for a QB draw. HUGE HUGE red flag, he isn’t clinical enough here, and this is against FCS.. How many starting NFL defenders are there from the FCS? 1-2? I’d be very very worried as a fan of a team drafting this guy. Very Worried
    I was suprised he only has a 66% completion.. There is hardly any contested catches or tight window throws. They are mostly open chunk plays or YAC. When it’s tight man coverage/contested throw its mostly innacurate or incomplete. An NFL QB would feast on this opposition throwing the ball.
    It’s funny how this guy is a top 5-10 QB but Heisman trophy winner Lamar was pick 32.. Lamar was far far more superior than him coming out as both a thrower and runner. Battled and almost out-dueled Watson/national champion Clemson
    I really do think he falls in the draft outside of the top 10. No way you take Lance over Pitts. Plus, he sat out a year as well so if he is a 1-2 year project, then the guy hasn’t played for 2-3 years by the time he takes his first snap in the NFL..

      Yeah, he only executed the offense he was working in to the point of near perfection. Nine different receivers had double digit catches. He distributed the ball like a machine, and when the play wasn't there, he made the defense pay with his legs.
      He should probably red shirt a year in the NFL just like Philip Rivers, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes; however, I think he's probably more ready to start than you realize. He already has the basic fundamentals of the position down pat.
      At the end of the day, this kid has the things you can't teach: size, speed, and arm strength. The question with Lance is how much he likes grinding film and perfecting his craft. It doesn't really matter how talented someone is if they don't want to be a football player deep down.
      Also, FWIW, NDSU already has already lost twice this season, so they are clearly missing him. They definitely aren't defending their ship, that's for sure.

I don't see him trucking anybody at the NFL level when most of his opponents are literally smaller than the refs. He should've been picked off quite a few times and it's a Christmas miracle he had 0 on the season. Only 66% completion percentage isn't that great against the FCS especially considering he basically only averaged 18 passes a game. Twice not even breaking 100 yards passing in full games. How does anyone project him to be successful in the NFL. Thats just not gonna cut it. His running ability isn't even on a Lamar jackson, Cam Newton or even Kyler Murray level. He's the epitome of a project player, but not worth a 1st round pick imo. I don't get the hype on this dude. So many times he's missed open receivers and was not accurate with pressure in his face. Both of y'all sound crazy as hell some of the best athletes in the NFL came for small schools. D2 don't justify how fast can you process information and how accurate you is with the football decision making.

      I’ll trust an organization full of pro scouts and football minds that have been studying this kid for over 5 months over these arm chair GM’s in the comments lmao. Kyle obviously sees something amazing in this kid. He’s special. Come back to this comment in two years if you want idc ;).

      @@luajovanny13 nice one arm chair GM calling the kid special. I didn't analyze any of his traits in my comment just said it would be a terrible pick and there's no way to justify trade 2 extra first round picks for an unproven rookie that might have to sit a few seasons. You also don't have to be a pro scout to have an opinion on a player or understand some basic strengths and weakness that a college prospect has, just watch the film. Unfortunately unlike the pro scouts we don't all have the all 22 view but its not that hard to find every play a prospect put on tape.
