  • For 2024, Sea-Doo brought back the beloved GTR-X model - but this time with last year's top-dog 300 ACE engine! That's right, the Polytec II hull has zero problems holding up to 300-ponies, and this loosey-goosey tail-waggin' runabout proves that you don't need to be fastest PWC to have the most fun. No, seriously. It's THAT much fun.

    CORRECTION: The pump housing size on the GTR-X 300 is the same as ALL other Sea-Doo (170mm). The GTR-X 300 has the same wear ring and polished impeller as the RXP-X and RXT-X. That is all. -K

    I just purchased this ski 2024 Seadoo GTR-X 300 with tech pkg. I installed a catch can immediately did the first two hours on eco mode bumped it up to normal mode and now with six hours on it in sport mode it’ll pull 69 miles an hour on this speedo at 8000 RPMs. I installed a “scom” won’t say what brand and it did absolutely nothing did not change my top speed at all . Hand held GPS 69.5 mph on the hand held. 69 on the dash. I am 500 ft above sea level on a river water is cold air was good.

    We Recently bought one.of these, based on your review, and yes., WITH the tech and audio package, We use the Sirius satellite radio mobile app to stream our favorite channels to the system. We Ride mostly Touring style, with some Shenanigans, mixed in, (mornings and or evenings in Summer), love listening to tunes while underway. The ported speakers sound pretty good with decent bass stationary, (not sure yet about higher speed). We live here in Northwest Arkansas, Beaver Lake Fleas riding group, (sorry we missed meeting you guys when you were here shooting this review last fall, BTW/FYI, we have waterfalls on the lake in the springtime. We're planning to use this ski Mostly for freshwater riding, We have ridden Beaver, Table Rock, TenKiller and Grand lake, (others soon to come), on our customized older ski, (650 hours on and 2 motors on our 2016 GTI130se, Which we kept for family). Love to meet you folks sometime, Stay safe out there, Thanks for what you do.

    Man, this seems like such a blast. I have the Wake 170 and I love running around with it turning around, washing the back out, jumping wake, etc. I can only imagine how much faster and more fun the 300 GTR-X would be. I definitely think this will be a great selling machine.
    This seems like a great ski for the entry-level person who wants high horsepower, speed, and acceleration.
    I was surprised to see some of the RXP-X designs come to this ski, like the ergo lock style seat and different glove box from the other GTI/GTR skis. I wonder if they'll phase those ones out and replace them with the front design/glove box of this seat? Maybe not because they want to leave it as an upgrade for the GTR-X...?
    I would also opt for the no speakers and basic screen. I usually LOVE music, but spending time with only the wind blowing and the engine revving is my time "quiet time". All I need to know on my screen is my speed and the gas left in the tank.
    Thanks for the review Kevin

    Damn, do I ever want an upgrade. I love my GTR, and the colorway on the GTR-X is absolutely perfect for me. As far as it's purpose, I'd say it can be both. Keep it stock and just ramp the trim up to throw it around like a Trixx, or you could throw aftermarket sponsons and an intake grate on, maybe a reflash, and carve courses pretty damn well with it. I think Kevin said it best in his original GTR 230 review back in 2020 - this is a hot rod for the whole family.
    (PS: Completely unrelated, but I love the music in the channel intro, it fits really well)

    I have both the GTR230 and spark trixx 2up. And that’s what I said about the GTR 230 back when I purchased the 2022 model, it’s a faster, bigger spark trixx, I can only imagine how much better this one is now! I’m thinking about selling both and getting the new 1 seater trixx along with this new GTRX

    • @destinationabundance7707
      @destinationabundance7707 8 месяцев назад

      I have a 2up Trixx and am considering a GTR. As you have both, is the GTR close to as much fun and chuckable? What about jumping, which I love to do on the Trixx? Also, can the GTR handle big and medium chop better? I find once waves are 2-3ft your speed on the trixx comes down to 12-18mph, the nose is hard to keep down and slams every wave, which is tiring after a while. If a GTR was even 80% as fun but significantly more practical and resistant to rough conditions it would probably be a no brainier.

    Question can you fit the spark trixx extended 4” handbar riser to the gtr x handlebars to help get the nose up?

      @@watercraftjournal Thank you, this is epic... I see its a part you can buy and fit direct from seadoo to give you 3inchs (the spark is 4) but even so, that would make getting the nose up on this gtr x much easier whether the stability/firmness in the bars suffers is the question... as the spark adjustable bars do like to eat through bushings and rock about when you pull force through them....
