I haven't heard Kevin this excited about a ski since the Ultra 310X in 2022, and the fact that the hype level is nearly the same shows what a monster this thing is. But there's one thing I need clarified. Did I hear that the ENTIRE updated valvetrain (among other things) is making it into ALL the 1630's for '24? Because if they are, then Sea-Doo has just stepped up their game across a lot of models.
BRP should have taken a page out of Hondas book with their HESD (Honda Electric Steering Damper) system. Dynamic and speed conditioned, no adjusting needed. It looks like PWCS are starting to become sportbikes on water 👌💯
All this engineering and improvements to make a monster.. However, they still can't get away from plastic wear rings and carbon seals.. Unbelievable. Let's hope this machine is reliable, which is my main worry.
Kevin….😊Lol! I watched you Rip it around that course threw out the Video and I’m Sure Your Arm were Sore from all that Aggressive Driving! So Yep! 325hp is a Arm Snatcher of a ride…. Most ain’t ready but plenty out there ready to sink the extra 300 bucks just for the Red Paint Job Too! What A Ride!
You got a bit more excited there, than when you were on the Explorer 😂. Great review but how will reliability stack up. There is a lot of new tech going on in just one ski
The ski looks huge. I am glad to see Sea-Doo working to keep resetting the bar. When I first heard about the ski I figured it was just more RPMs, but they built this thing for more then 325hp. This thing seems to have room for a lot more. I look forward to this ending up in the next generation hull.
Im in the market to build a new fish ski.. But, this makes me want to throw a couple rod holders and put a linq cooler on this when i want to go fish!!!!
Like I said in your previous post I predict to see 78mph 80x with fresh Air and a prop. That will be great for a stock set up Looking forward to see what we do with it 🦾🦾
Kevin, I know overall you prefer Yamaha and Kawi but you have to admit, unlike the big 3 automakers who realistically are head to head on the tech front and always challenge each other with renovations BRP REALLY is out front with daring new features and innovations. Yamaha and kawi build great products but ALWAYS seem to play it safe with when they build their products. Look at the Switch, the 325 motor, the hull and deck designs and even the new Can Am suspension and outside of Polaris’ 2.0 a couple years ago, nobody pushes the envelope like BRP. THEY RAISE THE TIDE and all will benefit
i assume you only drove it on the lake, right? My current issue is that no one ever tested it in the open ocean and talked about handling there. Its nice to have a lightning fast ski but if its not performing well in chop its not an option for someone driving ocean only.
@@alexanderetzel9433the steering damper mostly fixes that, check out reviews on the '23 RXP-X Apex. The thing that baffles me is why they don't offer the damper on the ST3 hulls, they are much worse in chop than the T3Rs.
@@flacjacket never driven an ST3 hull so far. I have my RXP-X 300 with the old T3 hull and Riva Sponsons and it works quite well here in the Med. Sea - for jumping i have a Trixx. Last year i drove a Kawasaki Ultra 310 and it did super well in chop. But the design of the Ski is horrible
I've never seriously considered a Sea Doo but this is interesting. It's a centrifugal blower, more efficient than a typical supercharger. Surprised they aren't running even more boost. How is it in big chop though?
But will it live up to it’s given nickname. `Sink-Doo’ lol Idk why but anytime I think or see a SeaDoo ski. I immediately think Baywatch. 🤷🏻♂️ I almost got a RXP but greedy dealer would budge on $250 bucks. So I got a 2022 ultra 310x. Maybe I’ll try this ski next summer
Well, in 1996 Baywatch started using the 96 XP, and in 97 they used the newly designed 97XP along with the 96 XP. The yellow colors were perfect for using them as rescue skis. They also used a 97 GTX on some episodes, but not for rescuing people. More for like training purposes. Before 96 they were using strictly Yamaha Wave Runners.
Looks like there is more hate than love for this machine in this comments section lol Isn’t very interesting, wonder how much hate they would get if they used a bearing instead of a carbon seal In all the questions I’ve seen or heard BRP answer, they like to answer a lot. But the one they have never addresses is: WHY ARE YOU STILL USING AN OUTDATED WEARABLE CARBON SEAL????? All I can say is, thank goodness for Yamaha and Kawasaki!!
Less so much hate as much as stupid people thinking that somehow this ski would 1. be allowed to break USCG regulations pertaining to small vessel speeds, and 2. would be an entirely new hull despite the mold only being 3 years old and the RXP-X sweeping every single pro level runabout class at the ISJBA World Finals last weekend.
If BRP was so interested in catering to the performance crowd and tuners, why have they not provided a pathway to unlock the ECU? As it sits right now, its just another 69 mph ski that is 7 mph slower than a 300 with a simple SCOM. Most buyers have no interest in using a stand alone ECU. Until there is a SCOM or tunes available, there is no way that I will replace my 21 PX with this unit.
Ever consider that that was the point? True tuners/builders (not weekend warriors) will unlock the potential of this ski ONLY by using a standalone ECU.
Man i love this ski. I wanted to know what is the load carrying weight between this Rxpx and the Rxtx. It would two full size adults full tank and some beach stuff to carry to the shore.
To be 100% honest, when I asked about the impeller all that they could confirm was that it was "polished." They guessed "13/18" when I pressed. The 300 impellers are 4-blade but definitely not 13/18 (closer to 15/21). This one is still a little ambiguous so please accept my apologies if it's different. -K
The 300 was pretty much bulletproof up to stage 3, had some valve train problems when pushed past 8,750 rpm, but that's what this redesign was meant to address. I see no reason that this shouldn't be every bit as bulletproof. The only question mark is on the compressor with its planetary gear set, but Kawasaki uses a similar design on the Ninja H2 and H2R and haven't had any issues.
I have run over 400hp. 22psi boost for over 100 hours with no problems, just good and stabel maintain all the way. Still stock piston, rods, valve chain, rockers, driveshaft. It's all about know how to take care of the engine In the best way.
I absolutely LOVE MY 17 RXP………..but the sound of racing a “ weapon “ that gets me going!!!
Learned more about that engine from this review than all previous videos I’ve watched. Nice job.
WHERE IS THE MICROWAVE OVEN ON THE JETSKI FOR MY HOTPOCKETS KEVIN? WTF!!!! SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW.
There’s a new “Homesteader Pro” coming.
You better bring some condoms with you cause that ski will get you a lot of snatch on the water.

On all 1630s? I preordered a GTR-X 300. Rxp is gonna be a year or two later. (Wife)
Damnit Kevin! Now I have to sell my perfectly good RXP-X 300 for a 2024. Thanks a lot buddy!

For a race ready runabout sure it can handle the added performance. But what about the performance in rough offshore chop.
The hull is unchanged. It’ll handle just like the previous RXP-X 300, and there’s plenty of information on that if you look for it
Super cool and all, but $20k starting is too much for me.
Instead of performance, I wish they would focus on fuel efficiency for the larger skis. Literally $100 per tank for an hour of fun...then empty.
