You are most welcome, Cathrien@@cathrien2851 🌼 How lucky that you have been able to explore Scandinavia and all of the beauty that region has to share. I am new to the dyeing world and enjoy your approach very much. You are teaching and sharing so much, thank you. Fermented mud is an unknown to me, and again you have gifted a new avenue of learning. Beautiful. 🌞

Welcome to the Color Quest family, Patricia - lovely to have you here 🌼 I'm so happy you are enjoying the videos! I hope to show more about fermented mud at some point as I absolutely loved the result. It is highly dependent on the iron content in the mud you forage and the results can be greatly varied. Perhaps you can forage some from your local rivers or lake beds to try it out 😊

This looks so interesting. I'd never considered an artists residency before but I'm going to consider it now after experiencing a lot of loss and endings recently. I'm not sure I could cope with such a harsh, cold, dark climate but it looks like it has suited you and you've done wonderful work out there with the nature and iron. I remember reading about some kind of textiles school, in Sweden I think, I will see if I can find it again online.

I'm so sorry to hear of your rough times of late 🤎 I hope you will have some peace, and I will wish for the perfect artist residency to bloom for you soon. Sweden sounds like a wonderful option, so take those steps and let the manifestation begin 😘

This film was beautiful, thankyou. I'm just about to trial some seaweed and mushroom dye. You showed us how to make fermented mud but when/how did you use it, this bit was not available?

Thank you for your kind words, Amanda 🤎 I did not have time to film any detailed tutorial on the mud-dyeing I did while on residency because I was so busy creating work for my gallery show. You can see some of the results from the gallery video I posted in mid November 2023 where I walk through the show. It is limited, but you can see some of the amazing colors the mud gave on wool and silk, some of which I also rust printed and played with tannin-iron-calx combinations. Hopefully, I can work on a video in the future on mud dyeing experiments 🤞
