This space is so lovely, and the chalk drawings on the wood-stove are so whimsical! I love your trumpeter swans painting! My retirement dream is to one day have a cozy property where I could host artists for residencies similar to this one. Thanks for sharing your experience, this is so inspiring!
I’ve always had trouble finding artists that I connect with and super inspired by. But you changed that, your ability to pull from nature is exactly what I want to do & to see your unique style of realism of nature is so so amazing!! I love your videos & your work!
I discovered you last week and eversince I am watching a video every other day with my morning coffee. I am currently writing my master thesis (cultural studies) and will hand it in by the end of this week. Your videos put me into such a calm place. It really helped getting the day started and feel ready to attack! There is little content I am watching whilst not doing anything else. So I value this a lot. Thanks for sharing!
Oh this made me teary eyed! I fly to Bozeman on Sunday! I'll be gone for a week and that's the longest I've been away from the kiddos. I need it though, I'm burning out. Thanks so much for sharing, friend! 💞
Wow what a beautiful place to be for two weeks. I really related to your lonely walk. Sometimes when I go out to create art the inspiration is still ‘downloading’ and it’s usually not till I’m back home that the true inspiration hits.
isn't Montana known as 'Big Sky Country'? it really lived up to that tagline! i love your beautiful artwork, your honest (and totally understandable) reflections, the gorgeous alpine meadow scenery and possibly my favorite moment... the way you got that fire in the wood stove going! :)
wow, what a blessing to stay in a place like this :') being in contact with true nature and this kinda isolation must really take you places mentally... we don't have this detox time to be kinda forced (?) to reflect on a day-to-day basis it must shake things up for the best, hope I can get this type experience soon loved the video
I just saw this video in my recommended feed. I went to eastern Montana this past fall with my fiancé and his dad, and the scenery was just gorgeous. I’m from ND and so being somewhere that wasn’t just purely flat was just amazing. watching this video made me miss my time in Montana and look forward to going again, maybe bring some art supplies to paint while I’m there, though my main medium is drawing. you’ve inspired me to start painting again, I’m going to make my first painting in over a year tomorrow. thank you for sharing your content. your work and content have been inspiring me to find my art style, and step out of my comfort zone in general.
What a wonderful opportunity. I could feel what you said with the disorienting shadow of the aloneness of the experience affecting you. I can identify with that. I'm glad the week rounded out with such beautiful encounters with nature and fellow artists, scientists and philosophers. It's nice to be alone when you also have a community you know is there. Beautiful paintings you created there!!!
What a cool experience!!! This video was so fun to watch! It looks gorgeous where you got to stay!! I never knew that things like this existed so I am so excited to research into it and maybe do something like this someday!! Also the footage of you making the fire was so cool and I will remember it forever LOL !! I looooved the swan painting and all the side panel paintings on your floral pieces were so pretty!!!
I just found your channel and I LOVE your vibe! I visited slc for the first time a week ago and I loved it - it’s so beautiful, I want to go back! Can’t wait to watch all of your videos and follow your art journey! :)
12:54 that lake looks gorgeous. 10 paintings in 2 weeks is great, even if you had of just walked away with sketches, it still would have been a good 2 weeks😀
Looks like such a cool experience!! The art you made while you were there is so so pretty :,) I was thinking about applying to some artist residency programs and this just confirmed my decision to apply lol
I really romanticize doing a residency some day. I appreciate that you shared your low points too.
