    Thanks for this video. I've just completed an almost identical mod for our Thetford C400.

    Hi Keith. A little Voltage reduction might take the whine off, but still give adequate air flow.
    Regards Mark in the UK

      Hi mark
      Again thanks for advice.
      Just had Amazon deliver two 12vdc motor controllers.
      Working a treat.
      Need to find a small box to house the pcb in.

      Took marks advice and ordered two 12vdc speed controllers just under £6 for two. Working great now and just slowed it down enough to be quiet.

      How observant. I’m afraid I don’t spend much time in hair and makeup. When I said I sprayed it black, I literally meant I’d JUST sprayed it and my fingers. All working now with the fan control.

    simple, effective... good job...
    We are getting the same system in a build soon, where does there clear pipe connect to? Or just towards the front of the cassette? thanks!

    • @craster_van_kippers
      @craster_van_kippers  Год назад

      The Dometic toilet comes with the pipe attached to locate to a breather valve on the cassette. This Is to passively vent to outside. The little fan with a speed controller is actively pulling the air from cassette through that existing fitting.
      Thanks

    So you painted the hole in a plastic door to stop it rusting?

    • @craster_van_kippers
      @craster_van_kippers  2 месяца назад

      Err nope! This is a plastic door frame into which you fit the original van panel that you cut out when installed It is therefore steel.
      Thanks for watching.

    Where does the clear hose go to?? Are you just venting the cabinet?

    • @craster_van_kippers
      @craster_van_kippers  Год назад +1

      The clear hose is a vent hose which comes as part of the Dometic toilet. It vents the cassette to nowhere so I’ve connected it to my fan gizmo.

    Keith, excellent use of stuff lying around the garden. Sounds a bit like my place. What exactly is SOG? I guess it's it's venting system for the bog cassette but what's its advantage over not SOG? Does it make the cassette more efficient or reduce smells. We don't plan long trips. Just curious. We'll done on the frugal solution all the same. Jamie

      Hi Jamie how’s things? Yes in this heat the shower room is a little bit smelly but not offensive. So it vents the cassette smell to outside and reduces the potential for the van to smell.

      A cheap dc motor controller has sorted the noise. Thanks to the “corniest” suggestion.
      Next vid is silent diesel heater pump.

    A damn sight cheaper than $AU290 that we have to pay for the Commercial set Down Under

      You’re not kidding!
      Plus I’ve fitted a cheap speed controller. Now that I’ve proved it works I need to maybe improve on the design.
