      Thanks mate.
      Pro rata freight. Without express or implied agreement, full freight is payable only on delivery of the cargo. If the ship and/or the cargo is lost freight does not become payable. However, a clause in a charterparty may provide for part (or all) of the freight to be prepaid. This is one use of the phrase “prorata freight”. Another use is related to a situation where the ship cannot complete the voyage for same reason. For instance, the ship may suffer a casualty and have to call into a port for repairs. The cargo owner may decide to take over the cargo and carry it on to the destination. The shipowner may claim for pro rata freight for part-performance of the voyage charter.

    Thank you for your video and it’s so helpful so that I can understand charter party & laytime calculation.
    By the way, can I ask you a question about laytime?
    I wonder if the time delay in following case could be considered as restraint of labor of vessel and the time loss could be counted as not used laytime by Asbatankvoy No.8.
    1. The cargo was shipped in comingled condition for 8 consignees and the cargos were discharged at a discharging port.
    2. Before calling at the discharging port, master provided master’s declaration stating the number of shore people (such as loading master, cargo surveyor and foreman etc) embark on board for each batch should be limited to 3 people for preventing COVID-19 but charterer arranged 10 surveyors for each batch because of determining exact cgo q’tty and cheking tank rader at CCR etc.
    3. Master on behalf of owner rejected the shore people got on board and keep asked only 3 shore people on board so there was delay of 1.5 day.

    Very informative can u please clarify total dummage calculation last page calculation..i guess there is typing error dummerage per day is 10 k usd and total time exceed 38.5 hrs.. pls check and expalin if posble

    Laytime is explained nicely. So is commencement of laytime. However give one more example and change the start and deatination place. Give a practical example which physically has occured

    In the end you multiply 12000 not 10000 which is the real demurrage rate..
    Also would be more clear if you explained that we divide 38.5 with 24 so we find the real number in pdpr basis and then multiply with demurrage rate.
    Overall perfect video and keep going because you do excellent work.. I feel lucky that I found this videos..

    Many Tks for great explanation.i have one query. Pls help me on my query. Eg. Laycan start for chemical tanker vessel on 21/09/2021 and end at 27/09/2021 at load port.
    Vessel tender her NOR on 20th Sept.
    Vessel berth on 21st Sept 1100 hrs.
    So time start will 21st Sept 0001 or 0600 hrs
    Pls advise.

      As far as I know, the time start from 0001LT/21st unless existing exceptive clause such as vessel not to tender NOR before laydays. if there's exceptive clause about NOR, laytime shall count from 0600LT/21st
