Amber, hope all is well with you! I’m the one you hugged last year when we landed in Detroit after departing Atlanta. I was devastated I didn’t receive a CJO. It was your comforting words that were the highlight of my day. And I accepted it just wasn’t my time.
After that flight, I could tell you were emotionally drained. I just wanted to tell you that it’s okay and it will get better. I, myself, have been diagnosed with clinical depression. It does get better. You have to take things one step at a time, sweetheart.
But I praise you for having the courage to disclose to the world what you’re dealing with. We, as Black Americans, often shun mental illness and professional help. That can be attributed towards of myriad of things.
But I’m elated that you are sharing your mental health journey and being the voice for those who may be ashamed to seek help.
I wish you nothing but the best. It will get better. And I hope that I will have the privilege to work with you one day. You have such a sweet soul! ❤
