I watch vids of phones I don't have all the time. I use them to judge whether or not I want to buy that phone. I really like the features of this S8 so I think I'll get two. One for me and one for my wife. This phone kicks ass. It's better than my Note 5. Yeah, I know, I can get the same, if not better, features in the Note 8. I have been an avid Note user since they came out but one thing I never actually use is the s pen and screen write features. So why note just go with the S8?....lol

The finger print reader is the most overblown feature people are complaining about! it's literally in the perfect spot for my hand as soon as I grab my phone. You should just get a smaller phone if your hands aren't big enough. If you put a case on it too it's even more easily identifiable, because it sits right on the edge of the case where the opening is.
Totally agree. The fingerprint reader isn't that bad at all. I got myself used to it since the first time I got my phone. Always managed to land my index finger right on the scanner even without touching the camera lens
2nd, use it. 3rd download the apps you want and sign in to them. Everything else is kinda irrelevant, change your theme and settings nothing that really matters much. Video is kinda useless because most people would know all these things from simply going through their settings.
I am still using my S8 in 2022 ! It still works like on day ONE. And I still love it as on DAY1 - especially - I admit - the wonderful EDGE DISPLAY. I plan to continue to use this phone for another few years....as long as it keeps working.
7:10 it's not long press, you need to hard press it. It's activated by the pressure sensor behind the screen. The sensitivity of home button can be adjusted.
yeah its really fast and efficient ..but the problem is its not affect to the eyes in really bad way..if u use it often u can feel headache ..so i didn't use it.. face recognize is way better

If you want to change the color of the on screen buttons,, (you must have on screen buttons, obviously), download "Navbar". I set colors for individual apps so it charges to red for RUclips, blue for Twitter, etc. It's great and I highly recommend it!

Had a S8 for many years, recently replaced it by a S20 FE. The S20 FE is amazing don't get me wrong but, the S8 certainly had its charm and it will forever have a soft spot in my heart ♥️
We have the same experienced. Bought mine June 2017 and was replaced also by S20 FE 5G. My Galaxy S8 is still working and will blow any midrange and some premium model camera's but sadly the battery and lag issue is now too much.

I just got a refurbished S8 today after 4 years with Note 4! I was perplexed when it came out of the box lol tried to get the back off because I thought I had to insert the battery..? ?? My Note 4 had enough umph left so I could go on RUclips and figure out some basics. Thank goodness for these videos! I think I'm going to have to spend at least half the day learning the phone tomorrow.

That Always-on display is a really really nice thing, I cherish my Lumia phones for having Glance display as most often I look at my phone just to check the clock, and having the clock always on the display is really handy.

Srbandara So I can explain it briefly, There's a smooth animation whenever you launch up a app let's say Google play store, it takes some time but it does look fancy right!, but when you change the animation scale down to 0.5 (from 1.0 originally) the phone will feel faster, start launching apps faster basically the fancy smooth experience that feel very slow if you are coming from Apple will be gone and it will feel more like a Apple device and feel faster (I would recommend trying and comparing from 0.5 to 1.5 so you feel what fits you the best) 👍🏼😊
Just switched from iPhone. This video was absolutely the best. This is 2019 and I’m not buying a high end new phone till 5g is ubiquitous. So the note 8 was my choice to get off the now down hill apple devices. I didn’t know any of these tips after a month or so with this phone. Satisfaction with Android has now increased by 200% at least and it was already high
Left an I phone which was huge for me. Loved the comprehensiveness of this video and am grateful as it is allowing a higher comfort level and I am beginning to realize what a great move this was!
The reason why you are having a hard time using the fingerprint scanner is because you are not holding your phone with your right hand like most do... you are holding it with your left which leads me to believe you are left handed. Maybe Samsung should make it accessible for both hands to use and not in a specific place, but they wanted it to look more uniformed. I have seen the fingerprint scanner work with even half of a fingerprint by a right-handed person so it works very well.
I'm right handed and find it more comfortable to hold it with my left hand (or that is what I do most of the time), and so my dominant right hand is free, and able to do other things at the same time. Nothing wrong with it.

I like to check the time on my phone and check for notifications a lot and turning on the entire display frequently will cost more mAh than using always on display

I bought My S8 plus yesterday. I owned an s2, s3 and s4 then I switched. My last phone was an LG V10 witch was a great phone,,BUT the battery life was sooooooooooooo bad it was unbearable. I'd loose %25 in the first hour without even using it.. had to charge it 3-4 times a day. Now this phone...the s8 is like a dream come true. I LOVE it.. The IRIS scan works great, and is very secure. Not sure why you downplayed the function. it works very fast and even in the dark. Try it.

Probably not necessary. Just use it and try to take it down low, then go up to 100%.
I recommend getting the Accubattery app, charging to 100% is not necessarily good for the battery

ok, I am almost 2 years late, but I am getting an S8 tomorrow, a huge upgrade from the Alcatel One Touch Mini I have been using for 4 years, and its one hell of a change. Just looking for reviews and such so I know what to look forwards to.

I bought My S8 plus yesterday. I owned an s2, s3 and s4 then I switched. My last phone was an LG V10 witch was a great phone,,BUT the battery life was sooooooooooooo bad it was unbearable. I'd loose %25 in the first hour without even using it.. had to charge it 3-4 times a day. Now this phone...the s8 is like a dream come true. I LOVE it.. Thanks for the video,,all of your tips were very very helpful.. there's a lot to figure out on this phone....
