    About Etta May:
    Etta May has performed her brand of clean-comedy on Oprah, Showtime, Comic Strip Live, MTV, and as a guest commentator on “CBS Sunday Morning,” Winner of the prestigious American Comedy Awards “Comic Of The Year,” and so much more. In addition, she headlines the successful all-female comedy tour, “Etta May and the Southern Fried Chicks,” selling out theatres all over the country. Think Blue Collar Comedy Tour with better hair and a bigger attitude! In addition to television, Etta May is a regular on Sirius-XM Comedy Channels and the syndicated Bob & Tom radio show.
    Born and in Bald Knob, Arkansas, Etta May grew up alongside nine older brothers, who referred to their baby sister as “the human sacrifice.” Etta May’s parents - her father, a potpourri farmer, and her mother, bedridden by constant childbearing - didn’t realize she was a girl until she needed a training bra.
    She met her husband, Delbert, an aspiring truck driver, at a friend’s kegger. From across the yard, their eyes locked in a loving look, you know that stare that lasts a moment too long. Nine months later, she was blessed with a boy, and three more kids followed. “That’s where my comedy comes from. I just wait for my husband or kids to do something stupid, and then I write it down.”
    Before finding success as a stand-up comic, Etta wandered from dead-end job to dead-end job, including a 10-year stint as a school bus driver. She says she learned how to handle unruly kids by Armor-Alling the seats and slamming on the brakes all the way to school. Her theory: “Kind of hard to pick a fight with the kid in front of you when you’re just holding on for dear life.”
    Then she decided to take a chance on herself and follow her dream. Lots of hard work and drive, and a few years later, she wins “Female Comic Of The Year” at the American Comedy Awards. It’s the American Story we are all told that you can become anything you set your mind to in this great country, and for Etta May, it worked!

    Omg! I forgot I used to call my youngest son Taz for a reason. 🤣 My ringtone for him on my cell used to be the theme song for the exorcist and he loved it. His favorite catch phrase to this day even now that he's an adult is "I can always kill him." whenever I complain about someone that's irritating me. I pray he is never serious. Lord please don't ever let him be serious. We used to get calls from his elementary school all the time. He was on a special watch list in the 5th grade. You know you are in for a really interesting conversation when you walk into the building and you only get two steps in the building are met by a teacher you have never seen in your life and the first things she says is "I can explain." This strikes a deep fear in your heart because you don't know what in the world you are about to hear and you don't know if you should be angry, worried or if you need to call a lawyer. It turned out, our son was a leader but not in a way we would have expected or wanted but he eventually was able to turn it into a positive thankfully.

    My two oldest kids were born close together and as soon as they were big enough it was a constant battle. They couldnt be in the same room for 3 minutes before fighting with each other. Eventually i started carrying a fly swatter to reach back into the back seat of the car to stop world war 3.

      So you teach your fighting kids that violence is wrong by assaulting them with a foreign object used to kill insects?

    • @susanfarley1332
      @susanfarley1332 6 месяцев назад

      @@MiscellaneousMike81 it only kills insects if it actually hits them. As for the kids, that fighting wasn't violence. It was a way to get attention. Since my husband wanted me to correct them all the time but did nothing himself I decided they weren't bothering me and ignored their fighting. Why should I punish them if they were not bothering me. It was my husband who was bothered all the time but he didn't stop them he made me . Then one day they were tussling on the couch right next to him, he got up, took off his belt walked over to me and tried to hand me his belt. I asked him why he was handing me the belt. He said to punish them. I told him they weren't bothering me. He stood there like he was puzzled and then walked off. The next time the kids fought and my husband was not there the kids fought for awhile and then stopped and looked at me. Why aren't you stopping us? they asked. I said why should I? It looked like you were having fun. They acted like they didn't know what to do with themselves. Then they walked off and never fought again. Problem solved.

    ❤ I had a problem with my oldest boy being the height of a 5th grader in kindergarten and the school lost him on the first day even though we had gone to meet his teacher and principal beforehand 😢 I was mortified when he didn't come home on the bus. The police brought him home after dark😮😢😮😢

    Here is my philosophy...i lived with a JACK....i explained to Jack one day that if you watch a movie or tv show most chances any bumbling idiot is named Jack...I even saw an episode of Murder She Wrote where the dogs name was named Jack....he informed me thats not true..."Look at Jack in the Titanic...he gave up the raft for that girl"...i replied " Hense the word idiot"

    Sounds like what a mother used to do us. I worked at a daycare about 15 years ago and when she would drop off her son he would have a mt dew in one hand and donuts in the other. Well let say he was ready for the day. LOL I taught two years old for 16 years and I loved it.

      This is the fourth video I've watched of her and I'm literally only watching like it's a car wreck that I can't look away from. This is the most toxic comedy I've ever listened to, and I grew up in the '80s and '90s. I have no idea what people are laughing at.
