      Thanks for the positive feedback John! So glad you enjoyed it and that it was useful. I felt it was time to make a video sharing how pleased I am with the purchase of the car and how well it has performed over time. How exciting that your Cobra will be here soon and you can start the building process! It will be a lot of fun to see your project come together step by step! Much to look forward to, enjoy!

    Thinking about the past: "Wouldn't have been a good car for me to have when I was 16!"
    While supporting a BIG smile in the present: "Still not be the best car for me to have!"

      @throttle-onJohn  2 года назад

      Craig, great comment! So true, if we had this car when we were 16 we likely would not still be here. If we had somehow gotten lucky enough to survive, there would have been some stories to tell including getting our licenses taken away. 😉 Even today this car challenges ones will power to allow the frontal lobe to win with good decisions while driving. Thanks for a good laugh!

So it was a spir of the moment thing after work one day, so glad it worked out. My intent was to show what it really is like to drive a Cobra even in 40 defree F temps. 😀 It is unlike anything that I have ever driven in that it takes a bit to get your imputs to the car right, but once you get it, it is so rewarding!

    John, I'm jealous! Hoping to spend the kids inheritance on a Superformance in 2022. Have you taken the car on a trip with consistent highway speeds? Just curious how far a guy can go on a 17 gallon tank of fuel. Also, if its not asking too much who do you insure with and about how much? Nice to see a real world video. Great job!

    • @throttle-onJohn
      @throttle-onJohn  2 года назад +6

      Hi Chuck! That is great that you have a car coming! You will love it, such a great driving experience! I have taken it on a few open highway loops out to the coast, down the coast line and then home and it was a blast! I don't remember what mileage I was getting but it never hurts to put fuel in it. However, my wife went with me on that trip so I wasn't being as stupid with my right foot and it surprised me that I felt like my fuel economy was surprisingly good compared to other drives that I had been on. My gut feeling is that if you drive with a light foot range will be fine but if more spirited, the mileage will be much reduced. I use State Farm and it seems like it is less than $100 per month for insurance, but when I put the insurance on hold during our rainy season it will cut the cost to something like $5 per month. Thank you for watching and your kind words. When weather is better, will have some other car videos up. Note, I have heard there are much better options for insuring a Cobra. The Superformance Owner's Forum always has some good recommendations and would be worth asking there for sure.

    It doesn't get more visceral then that. Superformance seems to do it right with that boxed frame.

    • @johnandrewpt
      @johnandrewpt 2 года назад +1

      I couldnt agree more, good choice of words, "visceral"! It is a pleasurable drive but raw and visceral, you feel the machine and really need to drive it. It rewards you when you get it right and slaps you on the hand if your right foot is too heavy. Boxed frame is super rigid, just the way you want it!

    Hi John. The car looks beautiful. Are those the stock SPF 15” knockoff wheels and did you have them powder coated black? I’ve never seen 15” done that way. They appear to have more dish than mine do. Might save me from spending $4k on a set of 18”s.
    Thanks.

    • @johnandrewpt
      @johnandrewpt 2 года назад

      Hi Pete! Thank you for your kind words! Yes, those are stock 15" SPF knockoff wheels powdercoated satin low gloss black. I love how they look and they drive nice. If on a track, no doubt the 18's would be the way to go. My rolling chasis came with the 18s and I have never installed them because of how nice the 15's look and drive. The 15's were what they had on during the tranny and motor installation phase and when they sent me a pic of the car in progress it looked so good I asked if we could just keep them on. Enjoy your Cobra!
